    Thanks ladies for sharing your opinions!! I feel SO much better about the whole thing, especially knowing that other brides are also having their showers thrown by their moms.

    Hi ladies, I need your opinion on something. Is it weird if my mom throws my a bridal shower? I know it's traditionally frowned upon for family members to host the shower as it can seem like a "gift grab". But I was talking to my mom one day about how I was a bit sad that no one offered to have a shower for me (because it makes me feel like no one wants to celebrate the fact that I'm getting married, for some reason) and she offered to do it. My bridesmaids aren't able to do it because the one lives on the other end of the country and I won't see her until we're in the Dominican, and the other one is a student and is short on cash so I'd hate for her to think I expect it. No other friends, family or relatives else has offered. I don't really want gifts and don't like the idea of opening gifts in front of people, so if my mom hosts a shower I would request no gifts. I just like the idea of getting together with some ladies to celebrate the fact that I'm getting married. Any opinions and advise would be great, thanks!

    I think people often have different ideas about what teal is. It's hard to pin down exactly what teal is. When I think of teal, I think of a more blue-teal, closer to peacock blue. My mom thinks of a more green-teal. When I search teal on the internet, often the results will bring up a colour that's more turquoise. Your colour palette idea sounded lovely though!!

    April, it looks like your wedding was amazing! I love the decor set up for the ceremony and reception. It's so colourful! Thank you so much for posting your review! They are always helpful for everyone else waiting their turn. I really like that you took the van with your dad to the restaurant. I think I will do that as well, seems like a nice way to spend some moments together before the ceremony. I would love to see your playlist if you don't mind. Music is something I've been struggling with lately. Do you mind me asking, how far in advance did you set up your meeting with Mayte?

    I was able to get the spa to email me their spa brochure which lists their services and prices. Let me know if you would like a copy!

    Thanks Lindsay! Do you have to set up the day pass prior to getting to the resort, or can it be bought on the day off?

    No problem! I didn't end up having the tags monogramed or anything. I'm just going to make a card with the guest's name to fit inside each tag. What colour of luggage tag are you thinking of getting?

    LindsayOO, it looks like your wedding was a blast! Thank you so much for sharing your review and your photos. I'm so happy to hear that you had a perfect wedding day. Mayte sounds like a gem. I didn't even realize there is a Dreams Palm Beach facebook group - I just sent in my request though since that's where we'll be staying. Did you have your photographer come to the resort as well? I was just wondering if you knew the fee for bringing people to the resort.

    We're using peacock blue, with white and light green.

    My ladies finally have dresses! We ordered them from J Crew right before the New Year because they were having a fantastic sale making the prices totally reasonable. The colour is much more of a peacock blue in person.

    I have ordered them and the quality is really great! I'm very impressed and would definitely order from this seller again. I can't wait to give them out, I hope everyone loves them as much as I do.

    I was looking at mrandmrsfavors! I ended up going with EndlesslyElsie because there was a certain colour I wanted for the luggage tags.

    We're doing leather luggage tags that are doubling as place cards for the reception. I ordered them off Etsy in a really nice dark turquoise colour. They were more expensive than most favours, but I like that they are practical.

    Congrats Lindsay!! So exciting. I hope your day is perfect. What you said is so true. Last I heard from Mayte, she said she was getting busier and busier everyday. She is truly dedicated to her brides though.

    I've been slacking for the last...several months, lol. I made a list of all the things I still need to do broken down by month, so I feel less stressed having it all laid out.
