  1. I know that a few brides are purchased from Venus Veils - if you search the forum you can probably find reviews and/or pics!
  2. I still haven't decided yet if I will purchase a veil or not, another bride also recommended Venus Veils on ebay if you are looking for cost-effective options (and who isn't?!) http://www.ebay.ca/sch/venus_veils/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686
  3. Check out Now Jade on Facebook, quite often brides post the link to their videos and/or photos there. Also there might be some in the older conversations on this thread...maybe from this past Spring?
  4. I was wondering a similar thing, but I was hoping to use the musician at the cocktail hour instead of the ceremony...anyone know if that's an option?
  5. I saw those too and was thinking about going that root with a waterproof personalized sticker (similar to link below)...but I haven't decided on that versus Factory 21 mugs from ebay..choices choices! http://www.etsy.com/transaction/85174853
  6. I know of two different options for inexpensive veils Venus Veils on ebay - several girls on this site have purchased from here http://www.ebay.ca/sch/venus_veils/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686 Bella Bridal Veils on etsy - got the shop name from someone on here but don't know if anyone has actually ordered one from this shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/BellaBridalVeils?ref=seller_info I would say to do a quick search of BDW for any feedback or reviews but prices sure seem reasonable (under $50 usually)!
  7. Pilar does allow some substitutions but it seems to vary, from what she said during the webinair this past spring they allow you to swap out items for similar items...so if you didn't want hair and make-up they would like allow you to trade for another spa service (I think the idea is to keep the money/credit to the specific department), that being said there have been exceptions to the rule. My thinking is bonus if they will allow a trade but don't necessarily plan (or budget) on it.
  8. The photos included in the package price are only around an hour or so worth I believe, but you can buy additional time. A previous bride on here said they charged her about $100/hr (which is cheaper than the website pricing) since she was already using them as part of the Now Jade wedding package. Similarly you get around 25 photos included in the wedding package but you can purchase more, again for cheaper than the pricing listed online. If you go back towards the start of this thread you can see how it is broken down by specific area - check out photography and I think you will find the bride's review there.
  9. Keep the one that makes you happiest, from the sounds of it that is dress #1. Dress 2 might be less expensive but this is the one time you can throw that logic out the window and go for what you really want!
  10. I would assume you should bring your own down to save $$. Ask Pilar for a quote but I bet buying them at home will be cheaper...
  11. There are options to buy more - I think a previous bride said she bought all the photos for a few hundred bucks. Also I have read that if you extend the time you need the photographer for it is not as expensive as the Now Jade booklet says, again I think the bride said it was only $100 an hour above the first hour included in the package.
  12. If you go back to the first page on this thread there are a few pictures of the terrace, that might give you an idea of size and set up?
  13. Are you definitely set on heels for the ceremony? Some barefoot jewelry would look great with a high/low dress (it would really show it off) and then you can put on your heels afterwards?
  14. At Dollarama today I scored my luggage tags -- 2 in a pack for $1.50! They are good quality too (American Tourister brand), and bright green so they will stand out! I cleaned out my store, the girl at the cash was a bit confused why I need 40 luggage tags, ha!
  15. You can get around the vendor fee for a florist by meeting them outside the gates...haven't done it myself, but lots of other brides have shared their tips!
  16. Definitely continue to price the property -- we repriced right before booking and it was $120pp cheaper than the rate that we went in assuming we would pay. Happy coincidence!
  17. Wow - labour of love is right! I wonder if they allow silk petals inside (table decor) since they won't blow away and litter the beach?
  18. Thanks - I took a look at the website you gave...next question, anyone know approx. how long the aisle would be for the pergola setting?
  19. Does the resort have any rules against fake flower petals for the aisle? To go thru the resort is ridiculously pricey (like $100 for a petal covered aisle) but I found a vendor on ebay that does 1000 pcs for $4.29 (and free shipping too!) but before I order I wanted to see if any other brides have had problems bringing silk petals? Thanks ladies!
  20. This is the dress my girls picked - it is Bill Levkoff, style 560, in horizon blue. I wasn't at all picky and thought they would all end up with something different but then they all fell for this one, the set in waist is super flattering!
