    http://www.weddingchicks.com/freebies/custom-monograms/

just click on the design that you like (unfortunately only about 15 available), and then you can enter your own letters, date, location information, and chose whatever colours you like, and then it downloads a monogram for you. You can then upload that monogram to most customizable products etc, or print it out on paper, invitations etc. I love it!!!

I think im going to print mine out on sticker paper, and then cut them into circles and put them on the cheap dollarama plastic shot glasses for when we're playing drinking games at the resort.

Awesome thanks - there are lots of free DIY projects on this site too!

It wasn't until I emailed Pilar to book that she told me there was already weddings being held there for the time I was looking for. Mine is at 4pm. I think their calander fills up pretty quickly and they are just a little slower when it comes to updating the website...

Ya there is a delay getting bookings on the website, we noticed that after we confirmed our date it was several weeks before it was reflected online.  I found the easiest way to get a quick answer on what days/times are available is to call Pilar, we did that and she gave us a run down of dates that were already booked and we went from there.

Also does anyone know if there is a link to see Adventures video from past weddings. I have yet to see what they can do for video. I am on a tight budget and do not want to go with an outside vendor but I want to determine if I should get more hours of video. I saw their website for photos which seems pretty good. Obviously Del Sol is going to be amazing but I cannot afford them.

Check out Now Jade on Facebook, quite often brides post the link to their videos and/or photos there.  Also there might be some in the older conversations on this thread...maybe from this past Spring?

I just want regular music that we are bringing for the ceremony.  We you able to at least use it towards a DJ at the reception or anything?

I was wondering a similar thing, but I was hoping to use the musician at the cocktail hour instead of the ceremony...anyone know if that's an option?

That seems steep for something so..... simple. Does anyone know anywhere or anyone (good etsy?) that can do that for cheaper? Thanks brides :) Here is a pic of the veil I liked/tried on.

I know of two different options for inexpensive veils

Venus Veils on ebay - several girls on this site have purchased from here

    http://www.ebay.ca/sch/venus_veils/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

Bella Bridal Veils on etsy - got the shop name from someone on here but don't know if anyone has actually ordered one from this shop

    http://www.etsy.com/shop/BellaBridalVeils?ref=seller_info

I would say to do a quick search of BDW for any feedback or reviews but prices sure seem reasonable (under $50 usually)!

Thanks so much for the heads up! If that is the case that is SO cheap so we might as well consider an outside photog...Especially if they are only including an hour. I wonder if Pilar will let us trade our sweedish massages for extra photos....hmmmm..

Pilar does allow some substitutions but it seems to vary, from what she said during the webinair this past spring they allow you to swap out items for similar items...so if you didn't want hair and make-up they would like allow you to trade for another spa service (I think the idea is to keep the money/credit to the specific department), that being said there have been exceptions to the rule.

My thinking is bonus if they will allow a trade but don't necessarily plan (or budget) on it.

I asked Pilar in my last email but she just said she would copy the photographer on the email and I still have not heard from him (these people take so long to answer emails) My wedding is in Jan 2013 and I would love to know if I should be sourcing out another photographer. Also, does anyone know what the fee is to bring a photographer onto the resort. Thanks in advance!

The photos included in the package price are only around an hour or so worth I believe, but you can buy additional time.  A previous bride on here said they charged her about $100/hr (which is cheaper than the website pricing) since she was already using them as part of the Now Jade wedding package.  Similarly you get around 25 photos included in the wedding package but you can purchase more, again for cheaper than the pricing listed online.

If you go back towards the start of this thread you can see how it is broken down by specific area - check out photography and I think you will find the bride's review there.

Actually- I just checked out their website, they don't look that bad!   But you only get 25 printed images and I think only 100 on disc, maybe?

There are options to buy more - I think a previous bride said she bought all the photos for a few hundred bucks.  Also I have read that if you extend the time you need the photographer for it is not as expensive as the Now Jade booklet says, again I think the bride said it was only $100 an hour above the first hour included in the package.

Also, will there be room for a dj/dancing with a long table group of appx. 30 people? If you have any input that would be great, thanks!

If you go back to the first page on this thread there are a few pictures of the terrace, that might give you an idea of size and set up?

Are you definitely set on heels for the ceremony? Some barefoot jewelry would look great with a high/low dress (it would really show it off) and then you can put on your heels afterwards?

no, they don't have an extra charge. They will charge you a fee of $350 if you bring in your own florist, cake or any other outside vendors.

You can get around the vendor fee for a florist by meeting them outside the gates...haven't done it myself, but lots of other brides have shared their tips!

Wow - labour of love is right!  I wonder if they allow silk petals inside (table decor) since they won't blow away and litter the beach?

  13. I did a STD with a note to RSVP on our wedding site.  We had many people book (and RSVP) in the first week or two after getting the STD then it slowed down (as we figured it would for the fence-sitters).  So when we had about 3-4 weeks left of our quote we sent out an electronic remind to RSVP by a certain date and WOW did that ever light a fire under people, we probably had about 20 more people put down deposits after they received the reminder notice.

We found a nice "beachy" photo and adding text about don't forget to RSVP by July 20 if you want to join us in Mexico then we hyperlinked the whole photo to our wedding website and inserted the photo into the body of an email so that no one had to click to open a file or anything.  It was pretty fast (ie no more than 45 mins) to do and we found it really got people excited again.
