We ordered our travel mugs from Factory 21, had to pay duty tho. It worked out to a few bucks each per mug. We are very happy with them - Factory 21 was very easy to work with and shipped them earlier than expected.

Just to update all of our wedding party plus our fathers have now ordered and received their suits. Everyone is pleased them! My FIL ordered a vest and my Father ordered Italian linen (a bit more $) which had more options for colour. We had a bit of a hiccup with one GM suit - they sent a `partial shipment`for him to try on and then email any changes...his jacket was tight through the shoulders (looks like it was an error on his measurements from this end, not theirs). Long story short, Studio Suits sent an alteration guide for a seamstress to let his jacket out a bit. That hasn`t happened yet but I think it should be fine, hopefully! We didn`t think to get any photos of the suits on the men but I`ll be sure to post photos after our wedding (in less than 2 months!!).
Oh and Canadian brides - we ordered all these suits at once (4 for GM + 2 for fathers) and were only charged I think $65 bucks for duty (on about $1k worth of suits) so if you can bundled orders you will definitely save on duty compared to shipping individually.

Did anyone choose to get a pants lining? We are going with Tropical Beige, so I'm not sure that we need the lining.
Do the jackets already come lined?
How did you decide on the trouser fit options?? Does anyone know what they all look like?
Classic Comfort Fit,
Straight Fit,
Slimmer Straight,
Boot Cut,
Slimmer Boot Cut,
Semi Baggy,
Baggy,
Slimmer Tapering
OY!
Also, we are going to do the measurements ourselves...but FI doesn't have a suit jacket that he owns (he's always just rented)...so we're not sure how to go about doing the measurements when they suggest using a jacket he already owns. Suggestions? Did anyone else run into this? What did you do?
Thanks ladies!!
Maybe take a trip to a store like Moore's or Tip Top Tailors to get an idea of jacket fit and measurement? Or does he have any friends or sibs who are similarly sized he could borrow their suit jacket and figure things out from there?
We got lining in the pants (with light grey hawaiin check), probably would have been fine without but for $5 bucks we figured why not...plus it makes the pants feel a little nicer. The jackets are lined too (similar fabric I believe, but I'd have to check to be certain).
For pant type we looked around on the site and saw a list with description of what each style was like (ie mid rise, roomy thru hips, tapered leg etc).

Your veil looks amazing!

I priced the same things thru Pilar and Maya floral (BM bouquets, bouts and centerpieces) and the resort was only minimally more than Maya Floral ($5-10 bucks per bouquet, within a buck or two on bouts). I thought both quotes were INSANE for flowers since they aren't that important to me so I'm doing real touch now.
-
I asked Pilar about a similar set up with 3 vases, submerged flower with candle on top and was quoted $130 per table. I also asked about more simple arrangements and was quoted $80 for the tropical with orchid and bird of paradise and $70 for the yellow arrangement. This was about a month ago I asked. (I attached the photos I sent with my pricing quote to Pilar below).

Thanks for the feedback ladies - Pilar did respond to my email (in about 24 hrs no less!) to say 2 options...I know we have a few vegetarians with us so I'm going to do 2 "meat" entrees and then the veg option. I replied to Pilar's email to ask/tell her that was plan, if we only have 2 choices I don't want one to be vegetarian when I know most people won't go for that by choice.
-
Alright ladies so I thought I had the menu situation all figured out but I want to be certain before I put the entree choices out there for my guests to select. Can I offer 4 entree options to my guest (using the two from eternity and two from divine) or do I have the narrow my selection to only 2 options (plus vegetarian)? Any help appreciated!

Yikes, you're making me feel super unproductive since I don't have half of what you have done and my wedding is in February! But way to go, it looks awesome!

Based on Pilar's email when I asked I took it to mean $50 for the rental and hanging the lanterns.
-
They have a few colour options - direct quote from Pilar's email: "YES WE CAN RENT THE COST FOR 20 LANTERS W ILL BE $50 USD
THE COLORS AVAIALBLE WHITE, PINK, GREEN, ORANGE."

When I was booking my date (booked in April 2012 for Feb 2013) I called the resort and spoke to Pilar - it was much more timely and easier to get answers to my questions/confirm locations that were available. During our conversation she tentatively held my date (for 2 wks I think??) until it was officially booked via the proper channels ie paperwork and deposit. For other matters I have emailed her a few times and the turn around time can range from 1-3 weeks, but she maybe faster for booking enquiries? Hope that helps!
-
They do allow hanging lanterns (no sky lanterns tho) - Pilar just quoted me $50 for 20 lanterns...they will hang them so I'm sure they can figure out some way to do!

Yup that is what she had us do too.

I was thinking about the same thing the idea - I really don't want to pack vases so I'm hoping the resort has some to rent! If anyone knows please fill me in

I have not seen anyone do this yet but I was hoping for some opinions. First off, does anyone know how much they charge for a floral centerpiece? Second, what do you all think if I used the bridesmaids bouquets as the centerpieces like in the picture below? Would guests think that's tacky/cheap?
I dont think it is tacky - with a DW it is not like you can take your bouquets home so make them work for you and pull double duty, we are definitely considering it too. Many traditional at home weddings use the girls bouquets on the headtable so I think its a great way to do centerpieces for a DW, esp. if you only have a few tables.

I have another pricing question. Just got an email back from Deisy and she indicated that to have an open bar it is $15 pp for the cocktail hour and $53 pp for the reception. I have the divine wedding package and I guess u thought the alcohol was included because it is an all inclusive resort. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!
I think she means for guests above the 25 included in the package.

And how much the laterns cost that hang from the ceiling? I'm so excited and nervous!! I want everything to look good! Thanks for your advice:)
Not sure on most items you mention but I do recall that lanterns were about $20 for 10...not sure on sizing or colours options but a former bride posted it on here this past summer.
Hopefully someone else can help you out with the other questions, I'd be interested to know too!

WagJag has a deal today for the Toronto Bridal Show Sept 28-30, $15 for admission for 2.

I'm having two - one thrown by the bridal party (tropical martini night theme) which is really more of a girls night out type idea with fun drinks and snacks. I am saving all the traditional shower stuff (games, watching bride open presents etc) for my family shower which is being thrown by my aunts. I wasn't sure if I wanted a shower but both of these groups insisted on it.

Catamaran Charter info: I have come across several different companies, some websites offer lots of info and pricing others not as much for private tours.
La Bonita - very detailed and helpful when I emailed her!

Studio Suits online is great - we have ordered all of our suits from them - groom + 4 groomsmen all in hawaiian linen, plus 2 fathers (one in the tropical linen blend and one is italian linen) plus an uncle who was so impressed he got himself one. There is a whole thread dedicated to it on here, most of the linen suits start about $100-115.
