  1. Kristie, I am thinking about doing a cocktail hour after the ceremony, before the reception too. Have you gotten any info on that? I don't want to jinx myself (knocking on wood) but I think we are going to make it to 75 nights to get to the free events, but on that day we would exceed the 3 hour per day limit. so i guess we would just have cocktail hour and reception and then just pay for whatever amount the reception exceeded the time limit. I don't know how strict they are on that. My ceremony is a 6, so with the parties outside having to end by 10:30 rule there isn't a whole lot of time for it to go past, but I wonder how strict they are on that too... has anyone heard anything?? I am getting close to 3 months out and can't wait to talk to someone. I attended the webinar and she said you should be in some contact at 6 months, but I haven't heard from anyone and my TA said that's normal. Has anyone else? Kristie, what are you doing for your makeup/hair? Has anyone been in contact with Marvin for flowers? I emailed him about a week ago, but havent heard anything back.
  2. I just hit four months away yesterday so not TOO much long before I will hopefully be hearing from a WC to start some planning. I feel very in the dark. I would really be lost without all you other BP brides. Thanks so much, JKWedding for all your info. Another BP bride sent me the price list she got from Zuniga so I have that to get a bit of an idea of where I am at $ wise with that. And I just sent Marvin an email about flowers. Did everyone just email him photos of what you wanted and he sent back an estimate or did he send you some options in photos? I know I will need some boutonnieres for groomsmen and my dad, I will use the complimentary one for my bouquet and the grooms boutonniere. I'll need a couple bridesmaids bouquets... are you guys doing corsages for mothers and stuff or no? I'm lost!! I am so lucky to have you guys or my head would be spinning!! Thanks everyone!!!
  3. Your wedding was beautiful!! Thanks so much for all the information! I have been really worried about the Marvin situation. My wedding it 4/26/13 at BP and I haven't contacted him at all, but the sneakiness of using him without the vendor fee had me a little worried so I am glad to know that it was no issue. Definitely will be going down that road. Great to know! Thanks. I doing the complimentary package and using that bouquet for myself (yours looked great)! The lanterns that are lining the aisle for your ceremony, did you bring those with you or rent them from BP? If you rented, do you mind telling me how much extra you had to pay for that? I am torn about the aisle looking a little plain but didn't really want to spend much decorating it for such a short time. I would rather spend that money at the reception .
  4. Does anyone know if you get the 75 nights how strict they are on the 3 hour max per day? I think I want to do a cocktail hour while we are taking photos, but I want the reception to go longer than the 2 hours after that. Do they enforce that pretty strictly or do they usually let you keep going? If they charge, do you know how much? We are going to be there 7 nights and have invited our guests for 5 nights. I don't plan on doing many events except something the night before and then the big event itself so I think I should be able to bank some hours, ha!
  5. I was there Kristie, if you have any specific questions. It was really helpful to be able to ask some specific questions that I had been having. That was my favorite part!!! Alot of the topics she went over were things I knew for the most part and would be of most help to brides looking to book there who maybe were on the fence about deciding, but being able to have a question answered was the best! I can try to help anything you might want to know. Tammy is going to be forwarding on more information like some centerpiece options and pricing, and the preferred vendors list and things like that once she receives them so I can pass that along too when I get it!
  6. Has anyone booked Zuniga? I am a little confused on how early I need to do that. Should I wait until I am in contact with my WC and know where my reception will be? I didnt want some of the bigger items I want from them to be "checked out" if you will.... I wasn't quite sure how that worked. Anyone have any clue on that? I also dont know EXACTLY what I will be need since I am still 6 months away and don't know exactly how many people will be attending (like how many centerpieces and things like that), but do I need to get the ball rolling??? HELP!

  9. Sorry you had no luck on colors, Kita. Enjoy your vacation and take a break then get back to it!! I am starting to really get active in my planning--- just 6 months to go for me! Eeek! I'm feeling a little lost in my budget not knowing what things are going to cost. I got a price list from Zuniga on some decor I might use for reception, but nothing on flowers. Do you have any of that you could share? What was the hotel less expensive then Zuniga on? I haven't gotten any price information from them on anything. I read on here that the Miami office is no longer? Have you still been in communicating with Janessa? I wasn't sure who I needed to contact to try to get some planning going. I've joined the webinar here for the 27th so maybe that will help me some.
  10. What are you thinking about using Zuniga for? Have you heard that Cherry Blossom is good at sneaking flowers in without paying the outside vendor fee?? I am hoping for the free events too!! (hoping that we book 75 nights, we having invited our guests for 5 nights so we need 15 rooms @ 5 nights = 75 nights)....I think we will get there! I don't know what to do for centerpieces and stuff and it makes me feel a little overwhelmed to not know how to begin that process and what things will cost and such. I AM SO LOST! lol!
  11. Renewing!! So glad you started this thread! A new Beach Palace thread was definitely needed! I posted a question to you about the planning process and if you had any idea when I start getting info on food, music, center pieces and making those choices to please pass it along... I am really lost on how that works and I feel like I don't know where I'm at on my budget, because I have NO IDEA what I will be spending on those things... Anyways, I posted it to you on another thread, but I am again here since I hadn't seen you started this thread yet and I'd love to be a part of it so feel free to just respond wherever!! THAT DRESS IS GORGEGOUS!! I really like the all white idea too. It is just clean and bright and simple and lets the ocean be beautiful! I am right there with you, I want very little color too! I am doing like a pale pale pale minty-aqua (my invitation envelopes are calling it lagoon) and coral so i think your pink and turquoise either way are great and very fitting for the tropical wedding!!!
  12. Brebon, I had the contract experience. We had to pay for our stay in full and sign a contract to lock in our group rate and to block rooms for our guests. When our guests call to reserve a room they will only have to pay for 2 nights stay to make their reservation and then the remainder is due 60 (maybe 90 days?? but i think 60 is right) before the trip. I have no idea if there is any other weddings on my day or not, but I didn't have any trouble getting the time I wanted and I insisted on confirmation of the ceremony location (Sky Terrace) before signing my contract. I am not as picky about the reception location, but the Sky Terrace is why we chose Beach Palace, so I wanted to make sure we'd be able to get married on the rooftop. I am getting more worried about the active planning... picking out flowers, music, food... I am confused on how that works and when/who I talk to. I am feeling lost on my budget right now, because i have NO IDEA what that will cost!! Do you know anything about that process?
  13. Renewing32, Congrats to you! I am getting married 4.26.13 at Beach Palace as well. I am feeling a little overwhelmed/lost in the planning process. I have emailed with Janessa in the Miami office as well anytime I have had a question and she has always been super nice and very responsive. Do I just bug her with an email every time I have a question? I was just wondering when I really get to the PLANNING process and get pricing list and options on all my centerpieces, flowers, etc...things like this... its hard to know where I am on my budget right now having no idea what I am doing for any decor, music... ANYTHING! Can anyone walk me through how this works??!! HELP! THANKS!!

I sent my "I don't feel comfortable putting a deposit down until I receive confirmation of my ceremony location" email on Friday morning and I still haven't heard anything back one away or another. Do we think this is pretty normal? I am dealing with Charmaine from the Miami office. I haven't had any direct dealings with her myself, as my wonderful travel agent has been handling everything for me... I just thought for this I would try to handle it myself. I am trying to be positive and hope for the best if I don't hear back, or it is bad news, but I am very concerned. The terrace is why we chose Beach Palace and it makes me very nervous. My TA told me that since we have the 6PM time, that Miama told her there is no need for concern, that sunset is the main time for rooftop, but who knows. What scares me is that some brides HAVE had luck getting it booked ahead of time. I hope another bride on my date doesn't have that luck!! (sorry brides ) Is anyone doing the Collin Cowie complimentary package? I really like the old complimentary better, and read on another thread that it will still be availble (at an extra cost, of course). Anyone know how much? I just like the white better than that net thing on the CC package. It pops more to me. What are everyones packages??
  16. Shan0487, I believe I've read on another thread that Palace won't allot you to ship items, because of the liability, but that some onsite WC will allow it. I'd ask your onsite. Coordinator since you have such an extenuating circumstance, hopefully she'd work with you. If not, it might be cheaper to take an extra suitcase with the linens you buy than to ship it anyways! Good luck !! Can't wait for your view and to see pictures, it will turn out beautifully!!!!!
  17. Kristie, Is that chocolate arch and the white fabric still going to be available? I intended to do the complimentary package as well, because the white fabric was my favorite, but when I read the new CC packages were ALL that we would have to choose from... I was a little disappointed. His complimentary package has that ivory net thing with flowers hanging in the back. It is ok looking, but doesn't pop as much as the white fabric did. Will we still be able to get to look of the old complimentary package? That is my preference!!

  20. Shan! Congrats! So exciting that we are just a few days from each other!!! Ill be making you go through this with me every step of the way Who is your Miami WC? I haven't had direct dealings with mine (Charmaine Vervuurt) because my TA has been handling everything so far. I just got my contract the day before yesterday...havent done anything with it yet. You think it's ok to email her myself and tell her I'm hesitant to return my contract and deposit without confirmation of the Sky Terrace? I'm so non-confrontational I'm likely to never make it through this, ha!!! I'm so glad to have found all you guys!!!
  21. Nevermind!! I didn't read far enough down!! I see. Most everyone has to wait for 90 days out to book the terrace! I guess I will just have to be on it .
  22. Alysam, When were you able to book the Sky Terrace? I got my contract yesterday. My TA was trying to get the location added to the contract, but no such luck. My Miami WC said that the location is decided when my onsite WC is in contact 3 months before my date. I am okay with waiting if this is a policy they use for EVERYONE. My fear is some people talk their way out of it and are able to book it in advance and it will be booked on my day . I have the 6 PM time on April 26, 2013. Any advice welcome! Thanks BP Brides!!!!
