AHHH so i did it.. i officially changed my wedding date due to very high airfair & im freaking out over it.... .originally it was feb 22nd which was during presidents week... flights from NY to CUN went up to about 800$ per person for that week..... we just felt like it was very unfair to our guests plus i started worrying that it would be jam packed with kids ( which i have a 3 year old myself so i dont mean it in a bad way ). we changed the date to March 1st which i kinda like because of the whole 3.1.13.. the cost for the flights went down over 300$ per person in making this switch so we hope our guests realize we did it for their benefit!! what a scary move to make, but something had to be done. anyone else have any sort of issues like this that can make me feel better ??? also would anyone want to share the approximate cost for their guests to come to their wedding. . . im just wondering around how much u guys had your guests pay & how you felt about it because im starting to feel GUILTY ( i esp. was at the 800$ air fare ). feel free to shed some light

I also wanted to have an intimate wedding but I think I sent out too many save the dates, i sent out 75 in total and most of them are for more than one person. HOWEVER, I sent them 6 months ago and now my wedding is 6 months away and believe me, people do drop like flies. 6 months ago I would have said 75 people were coming, today I estimate around 45 people. Now that its time to start booking and people hear the cost, everything changes!!! The only mistake i think i made was some people i didnt really care to come, i sent the save the date too and they might actually come. ( its no biggie, i just didnt expect them to come ) so im actually worried that my wedding crowd will be wierd.. mostly close people & some people i wouldnt have expected to be there at all but i jsut sent the save the date to be nice lol either way i guess it will all work out! Does anyone have an opinion of how the dance floor looks on the deck !? I have been looking through the DJs photos and i cant decide if it looks good or not. in some pictures it looks good and in others it looks like it makes the deck look smaller. also i seen a pic where a girl had used the deck for the tables, but had the dance floor set up infront of the deck on the sand...... also looked like she had some lounge furniture layed out on the beach around it..... this looked cool but im just not sure how it would work lighting wise & if people would want to go into the sand to get onthe dance floor.... hmmm i am stressed over such tiny details ggrrrrr.. any opinions especially from people who have maybe seen any of these options or had them would SOOOOOOOOOO be appreciated!!

Hey girls, i am meeting my travel agent in the next couple of days to sign the group agreement with dreams.... does anyone have any experience with this ? So far it seems the group package from dreams is working out a little cheaper for guests staying 3 and 4 nights rather than doing it through a website such as expedia, travelocity etc. im just a little nervous about signing any kind of agreement! We are starting low with just the 10 rooms and we figured we will build up from there. from what i get so far its 100$ per person per room to hold it and then every 6th room is free. . . . i hope im not making a mistake booking this way!! also still shocked at how high the prices are for my wedding weekend, i can already tell some people wont be able to make it... :*(

Quick question. . . . i have 3 guests for my wedding who will be turning 13 right before the wedding!!!! and from what I am hearing 12 and under is where you don't have to pay full price.... I really shouldn't be asking this BUT does anyone know if they will check their IDs when they get to the hotel ? Had I of planned my date just a little earlier a few family members would be saving some loot & i never realized it lol can we pull the 13 year olds off as 12 year old ? if anyone has any experience with this please shed some light and please don't tell dreams that i asked lol

anyone have trouble getting their finace's or husbands to do the TTD... my fiance has no desire to go and lay on the sand to get into the water with his clothes on but i really want to do it.. just curious if im alone here. i mean hes not one to take 100 pictures so i sort of understand but its nice to have no ??? lol

So for anyone who's curious I finally got an email back from Evangalina......... she sent me this picture of "desire's terrace" so i still have no clue where that other picture i posted is lol.... but this does look nice & i assume its more private than the beach--- ahhh i cannot decide!.. i really LOVE the lounge set up on the beach but the thought of people taking the sun right next to us is throwing me off.... i really wish dreams could move things a little further down the beach for more privacy ;*(

Hey Noelle, I am having around the same amount of people ( i think ) and we are doing a seated dinner on the deck. Yamina confirmed 3 options with me.... a chicken, lamb chops, and steak.... I am putting it on my response cards and as long as I tell them a month in advance how many of each she said it was fine. I am waiting for an official confirmation from Lorena now before I order the response cards just incase of anything. . . but as far as Yamina ( my 1st coordinator ) went she said it was fine. Our first course is an arugala salad & then a pasta and then the dinner. I told them it was impossible for me to choose one entree for all my guests and my fiance reallly did not want the buffet..... good luck!

Ok girls as you can see when I first get to work I am bored... the video below, if I posted the link right is a girl doing a tour and it shows Desire's Terrace.... to me it looks nothing liek the picture I posted. In the picture it lookes round, like it has couches all around, and does not have a roof- in the video which is the way I remembered it, there are poles, a roof, and no couches around. Are they 2 diff. areas ? Okay I am going to take everyone's word for it that the pic i posted is desire's terrace lol i am positive that i seen something else called Desire's terrace and that it was not as open-air as whats in that picture, but maybe there are two different areas and I just never seen that one.. anyway I am trying to work out my budget and just get an overall idea on what i am spending and its impossible with no emails back. i am trying to stay as calm as possible since i do have a while, but i do think in the beginning they should answer all of our questions, then they can ignore us for a while lol i dont mind if my coordinator doesn't bother with me for a while but at least answer my initial questions so that I can do the rest... i dunno thats just my opinion!!!! if not for this forum I would be LOST. or dreams could easily make a better catalog and put prices next to the pictures and things like that so that we can all download it and have so many less questions anyway. lol ok im just venting because so far i cant tell if what im expecting is gong to cost me 10k or 30k lol i also confirmed certain dinner options with Yamina, that I am waiting for Lorena to confirm before I send out my invitations, which I wanted to send out sometime in August, but its already the end of July and she hasn't responded to my e-mail asking her to confirm this. I vote for the purple dress My neice is only going to be 5 and I might even put her in like a 'junior bridesmaids dress rather than the typical flower girl looking dress.... theres somethign about it that I like better... and i think your best man and maid of honor ideas are great. we are doing a bridal party with 6 people each and i sorta regret it. it makes everything more expensive... i feel bad about not picking more people ( but also i would have noone in the audience lol ).. and i dont know its just a pain in the neck!
