  1. Hi Girls... Okay so, maybe I am wrong and its 150 but i think i got quoted at 300 because if he brings someone with him its 300... its 150 a person. not sure if mike would need an assistant. I agree with what one of u said about them trying to squeeze every penny... i am having a saxaphone player for my ceremony (because i heard hear comes the bride on the sax and fell in love ) lol and they want to charge me 50$ for the microphone for the ceremony. like okay, im paying a lot for the saxaphone player which i don't mind at all.... but also charging me 50$ to turn on a microphone so my guests could hear the ceremony is where i draw the line LOL Lorena also let me know that in 2013 there will be a fee to set up a table at the reception ( like with your place cards etc ). I wont be charged because i started planning a year ago but still im not a fan of this for future brides because even at an expensive wedding hall they would put out your place cards without charging you. I saw another girl ask about deliverin a welcome letter. . . i am having welcome bags delivered to each room for $3 each. i just think it is easier than meeting all my guests at the enterance since ill probably be in the pool lol 21 days till i leave to go and i just keep thinking of more and more things i forgot to either order or organize lol cant wait

  3. Thank you Lindsey! Some of the more recent videos I seen on here from DRC were pretty good so i wasnt worried but the packages just dont make much sense to me. I may still use Mike he told me is available for my date. I think I will do the 5 hour like you did. Did you pay 300 for the outside vendor ? and ur video is awesome i have watched it more than once lol
  4. Hey girls, I am trying to wrap up all my final plans since I am leaving for Mexico Feb 26th!!! I just sent Lorena emails with pretty much all my final thoughts and requests & she was very kind to email me out of the blue yesterday asking if i needed anything else which i REALLY appreciate! ... a few things I am curious about that maybe someone here could give me an idea on: Centerpieces: Is it possible to somehow use the bridesmaids bouquets towards the centerpieces.... can they arrange this? I have 4 bridesmaids and i know right after the ceremony the bouquets are going to lay somewhere and never be used again lol also they are about 75$ each so i want to get more use out of them. any ideas ? Lights under table: I see a price listed for 30$ and one for 50$. Maybe it increased ? I am going to do this regardless just curious what others have paid. Lanterns: I decided to use the resorts instead of bringing my own. I want the one long string just not sure exactly how much it is.. i assume about 200? I think its 20 lights and they are $10 each ? Decorating the Hoopa: I know I read somewhere that someone used the floral arrangement from the bride/groom table to decorate the hoopa, is anyone familiar with this ? Lorena told me it is fine, but that the dimensions are different. So if it is going to look silly I will purchase flowers for it, but if i can get away with it- than thats what i'll do! Boutineers: I see the ultimate package offers 2 boutineers and 2 corsages. I was wondering if I could have 3 boutineers instead and one corsage. Only mom needs a corsage. In this case I would only have to purchase 4 boutineers. Flower Girl: I asked for one bag of rose petals. Do you think I should bring some of my own fakes ones ? Is one bag enough from the suit to the hoopa ? Dinner: I am trying to stress to Lorena that although we are doing the sit down I want more time for dancing and less for eating. Does anyone have a good idea of how to explain the meal times so that dinner doesnt take up 90% of the reception. I also am paying for the extra hour so that might help. Video: I really want a nice wedding video that includes the ceremony a little of the cocktail hour and some key points of the reception like the first dance, father daughter dance, cake cutting. When I look at the video packages it seems like none of them include this exceprt the final package which is 5000. Well i have been to weddings here in NY where they get AMAZING wedding videos and spend much less. I reviewed some outside vendors and then decided I would just use their videographers and now i am not so sure again. If they are a lot more expensive and lower quality- it is worth the outside vendor fee. Is this something I can worry about when I get there, or should i really make up my mind now? I emailed them and have not heard back & some sort of video is really important to me. Alcohol: What kind of liquor is included..... my fiance wants to know if we should upgrade or if pretty much everything is included lol SORRY FOR MY LONG RANT LOL THESE ARE MY FINAL WRAP UP QUESTIONS SO I FIGURED WHILE LORENA IS BUSY IF ANYONE HAS ANY ANSWERS TO THEM I COULD GET A MOVE ON
  5. Hi! I decided not to do the welcome dinner either because we have 50 guests and it was really adding up.... I think if you are spending a nice amount on the wedding like we are dreams should offer something better for the welcome dinner ( a better deal overall ). It would have ended up costing me about 1000 for dinner everyone already paid for lol. so anyway i am putting on my programs "Welcome Cocktails at the Lobby Bar" and I am going to pick a time that would be right around when most people would be done with dinner. I also think it gives the guests a chance to try whatever restaurant they choose since the next day will be the wedding. I reallly wanted a welcome dinner at first but I am pretty content with this now. You also could do it at Desire's Lounge.. they have a DJ and chairs and tables. I figure we will end up moving over to there but we have 4 kids coming so we are starting at the lobby bar.
  6. also i hope i find it because i want to put on my program where the cokctail hour is & im pretty sure its outside of the french restaurant but im not positive so i dont know what to put on my program card lol im afraid if i put desires terrace my guests will go to the other location lol
  7. this is so funny because this was driving me crazy for a while and i actually posted the same pics a while back and asked Lorena and unfortunetly I can't find the exact email right now because i am at work but I will search my emails later to help u guys out. From what I remember...... . The 1st picture is outside of Desire's .... i remember sitting out there when I went. It is right up the steps where u can walk in to desires and other restaurants. The second picture is what is actually called "Desires Terrace" i went through all of this with her because i realllly wanted my cocktail hour at the 2nd location, but i realized people had different views of which was Desires Terrace and which wasnt. After confirmation with Lorena- the 2nd location is the actual "Desire's Terrace". The confusion is because the first picture is actually right outside of desires so everyone assumes thats what it is called ( silly on part of the hotel). LOL so make sure if u want one of these locations u confirm where they are. The 2nd picture is above the kids club so they really dont like to do coktail hours there anymore incase drinks spills. I am having it there because i confirmed it a long time ago & promised my guests would behave. hopefully i find th email and if so ill copy and paste it so u guys can see because this also drove me nuts lol
  8. hey just want to share with everyone that i am having my cocktail hour at desires terrace and this is actually different from the area outside of desires lounge. this is an open area outside of one of the restraurants and is called "Desires terrace". this drove me nuts originally because i wasnt sure what to ask for. anyway there are two different areas... the area outside of the actual lounge seemed to be open to anyone so i dont think it wouldbe closed off.. she may have meant the actual desires terrace outsdie of one of the restaurants. and they normally dont allow cocktail hours here due to it being above the kids area

  10. okay now i feel horrible because Lorena emailed me and she really does have everything under control. i promised not to email her again unless its very important or a final confirmation on everything lol she seems really sweet and im excited to meet her. i asked her not to kill me when i arrive for all my emails ! but i will request that for the future the brochure has all the pricing lol- i hate asking for a list of prices and then picking one thing! but anyway im putting my trust in her- she also comes to the forum which i think is great because she can see us all complaining (LOL) and helping one another and its like indirectly speaking with her haha.... anyway about the 700 for the lights- still not sure where i seen that but when i find it ill post a picture... im happy that it doesnt seem correct anyway ! but thats it- im happy she responded and i feel bad for hounding her haha...
  11. So funny because I asked LOrena and she said NO BASKET, just the flowers lol for i believe 22$. so i was going to bring my own basket but i willl ask again because i assumed they had something! thank you.
  12. thank you for all of your help. this made me feel better. i havent heard back from lorena in 2 weeks now so i dont see how with less than 5 weeks left i could possibly figure everything out. it kind of bothers me though also because she didnt really take interest until the 2-3 month mark and now with weeks in between emails theres not enough time. i was willing to work on it all months ago lol but they keep telling you not to worry. i appreciate your help i am printing all emails between us and i will bring down the brochures with everything i want circled so that it is organized
  13. we are doing assigned seating because there is almost 50 people and not everyone knows eachother so we dont want people to feel awkward. fiance and i are sitting alone and then our bridal party is actually going to spread out and sitting with their spouses and friends. my bridesmaids are my family and his groomsmen are his friends so it works out better to jus seperate everyone and put them with their friends/family.
  14. Yes, it says something like "light post (20)- $700" and i have no clue what this means. then it says "lanters $10 each" LOL so they are $10 each but 700 for 20? Obviously I am just confused but Lorena hasn't wrote back to me in about 12 days now so all of my questions are just lingering & the clock is ticking. I know most past brides say not to worry and that pretty much everything can be worked out when you arrive so maybe I should stop worrying? I want to have everything in order already like at least 3 weeks before I even go so I can worry about my own things lol ( my oot bags & other fun aspects ) but i find it hard not to worry. If you could tell me, what things do you think are IMPERATIVE ( besides locations and times ) to have in stone before you go and which things did u realize were not going to be an issue and u could have easily just picked the stuff out when u met with the coordinator? Like for example my video package, i emailed them and no response. I want to speak to someone before i decide just off of what it says on the paper, but can it wait !? I think this would seriously help me. LOL
  15. hey everyone, does anyone know the time the party bus comes on the weekends... the bus that takes groups to cancun/playa del carmen. i want to put it on my itinterary as an optional thing the night after the wedding but i am not sure what time to put. also about the lanterns..... 700$ for 20? but they are 10$ each? I dont understand this at all!!!!!!!!!!! does the 700$ light up the entire deck and look beautiful to where i dont have to buy another single light. . . . or should i shop for lanterns at home and pay the 60$ fee she said to hang them.... totally confused about this. wedding is only a little over a month away and although she is answering my emails there is like a week in between each so it is hard to make any decisions like this =( by the time she answers me with prices, ive changed my mind lol. does anyone think i could just get her on the phone once before i come down, i have questions like- how much is the party bus if a ton of us go, can we get a discounted rate, what time should my guests be ready? etc.... and those kinds of answers i need for my wedding itinerary and such but then by the time she answers ill have a new question, lol not sure if im making sense.... has anyone spoken to them on the phone before they came down ?
  16. wow everything looked great. i was wondering if u could tell me how much you paid for the lanterns..... did u bring them yourself or just do it through the resort. she quoredme something like 700$ and im just trying to figure out exactly what that is for!?!? also she siad i could bring my own but they would charge me 60$ to hang them, so im assuming i could find cheap ones and bring them down but i would not know how many to bring !? also how much were your maracas ? everything looked great i wish i could hire you and savs to plan mine lol

MCree i cant wait to get home from work and read ur full review LOL I am getting so close and so nervous.... i just started working on my OOT bags Do you guys think its bad if i save money and order cheaper bags like sort of like paper bags with handles and attach a cute tag to them ? I am putting a hangover kit inside, some candy, a koozie, and a t shirt that says something funny, so i figured maybe i could cheap out on the bag little lol also- cesar finally emailed me back and said we are all set to go for the wedding..... he said he will bring props but not to tell Lorena because she will charge me ( sort of think thats ridiculous because he is not cheap and most djs provide a few small props)lol he also said theres an extra fee for cold fireworks- does anyone know what this is? When I asked him about certain music we like he said of course he knows it and not to worry.... is this really the case? the music is soooo important to me! and i am curious if anyone had a TV set up near the dj where they displayed pictures ? we want to do something in memory of people who have passed away and thought a tv going with pictures throughout the night would be great. not sure i have seen this yet. Kelly Kellz- did u post a review ? id love to see it if u did. and lastly, i dont think i am going to pay for my bridesmaids hair because i am getting them something else also so how much did your girls pay to get their hair done ? thanx everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. hang in there! less people are coming to mine than expected also but it happens. anyway i think if that is your wedding reception you are making a very big mistake by not making sure you have a space in a restaurant. what if there isnt enough seats, or there is soemthing else going on that night? i also think you can request a closed off section which will be nice rather than be in the middle of others eating... its still your wedding !! )
  19. finally went for a fitting.... also i decided i am going to wear the long veil..... but if its really windy im going simple with just a flower in my hair but i want to try and get in some long veil pics..... i decided the bird cage is awesome but this time the long veil just did it for me
