  3. There are such great ideas on here! So far we've bought... Bridesmaids: (My 3 sisters are my bridesmaids so decided to have no MOH to keep it fair ) Earrings from Etsy seller BellaAnela for wedding Robes from Love Ophelia for getting ready (mint green -our colors or mint and coral) Hour Long Massage at Las Caletas day of wedding Groomsmen: Engraved Flask/cigar holder combo from Etsy seller Tiposcreations we are having a cigar roller at wedding, so thought this was a neat idea) FI is still deciding on others gift for groomsmen. Ring Bearer & Flower girl (my niece, 2 and nephew, 4): We got them both very cute books about being a flower girl and ring bearer. Ordered on Amazon. Niece- build-a-bear with flower girl accessories (she loves "babies" ) . We recorded a special message for her and every time she pushes her paw, she will hear the message. Nephew - still deciding on this...he likes something new every five minutes, so going to wait until closer to the wedding to see what he's "into." haha Parents: totally lost on this one. Want something very special and everything I find online seems so cliché and lame. My Mom and MIL are getting massages with my girls and I on our wedding day, but we aren't counting that as a gift. Will post on here again if I come up with something fabulous to share with you guys. I'm also getting Boudoir photos done as a pre-wedding night gift for my fiancé. Good luck, ladies!
  4. Hi everyone! We're searching for a videographer and was wondering if anyone would share their videos on here. We want someone with experience filming Las Caletas. I've emailed Blanca for some samples of Vallarta Adventure videography, but haven't heard back yet. Also, wondering if you thought it was worth the extra time/money to have the videographer there while you get ready. Really appreciate any feedback and info...Thanks in advance!
  5. I didn't realize they did video! We are using them for photography and would love to add video! Is the $300 fee (for outside photographer) only charged once if using the same company for photo & video? I hope so! Thanks in advance for any info!

  7. Hi Kate! I am very curious about this, too. I've read countless posts about this topic, but without a definitive answer. I don't want to do the bonfire because we are getting married at Las Caletas and don't want to have a bonfire 2 nights in a row. It seems crazy to me to spend money on an event that should be free at an all inclusive. A lot of brides have said that you can just show up and take the chance that they will push some tables together for you. I assume this is easier at some restaurants than others -We did our site visit at Dreams PV last November and I think El Patio & the World Café would be best, because they were less crowded. I think it would be difficult to seat 20+ at Oceana and Portofino-they seem more restricted. Also, service at Oceana was incredibly slow when we went, so serving more than 20 guests at a time would probably take FOREVER. It would be easier to just walk into a restaurant with a big group on a slow night, so maybe email or call the concierge and see which nights are typically slower. Or what about just doing welcome cocktails at one of the bars? I think we are planning on having our rehearsal dinner at El Patio because only family and wedding party will be included so we will be easier to accommodate. Then, thinking of using the Mexican Fiesta night (held on the beach every Friday) as a fun alternative to a Welcome Party. I read a post about a few brides having people get together for Fiesta Night and the staff was happy to pull a few tables together for them. Good luck and let me know if you receive any new helpful info on this topic. Lauren
  8. I can't speak from experience but after reading through this thread and speaking to Blanca about this, it's seems that it is the only way for the groom to come over early (he would come with the adventure weddings staff). That is unless he came over with you in the morning. That would definitely be an expensive cab ride though. Maybe his groomsmen could come with him, so the ride wouldn't seem as long. Keep in mind that they have to pay for the boat ride also...I think it is $30/person? I could be wrong though--just a guess. I'm having the same issue with daylight as we are getting married in November...but we have decided to keep the tradition and wait until the ceremony to see each other. (One of the only things that is traditional about our wedding! LOL) There will only be about 10-15 mins of day light after the ceremony, so keep that in mind. Are you doing a trash the dress session? Maybe those could serve as your beach pictures. I know it's a tough decision...good luck!
  9. I definitely plan on tipping Blanca. She has already been amazing and so helpful through out the planning process. I will probably hand her a thank you note & gratuity at the end of the evening when we are saying goodbye and thanking her for everything. I will also leave the hair/makeup team something extra-how much depends a little on how happy I am with the service and end result. It's a personal preference and don't think anyone expects anything but that kind of makes it an even nicer gesture.

  11. Hi Jenny, Pierre and Eva are a dream to work with. They shot our engagement photos during our site visit this past November. It was included in the VERY reasonably priced wedding package. Email response time was lightning fast and they were extremely professional and efficient on site. We LOVE the pictures that Eva took (the one below is my favorite!) and are so excited to work with them again on our wedding day. I would highly recommend using them!
  12. Hi Girls! I'm new to this forum...usually post on the Las Caletas page because we are getting married there but staying at Dreams PV, so I thought I'd share some great news with all of you. Dreams is starting an "Unlimited-Connectivity" App. Dreams Cancun and Adventuras have the app now, PV is working on it and should have it soon. It's so wonderful. You can stay connected with your guests though out your stay, use free WIFI, make free local, US & Canada calls, check restaurant menus & hours, book spa treatments, check daily events, etc. all from your smart phone or tablet. My fiancé and I are super excited about it because we were worried it would be tough to stay in touch with our guests. I downloaded it by just searching "DREAMS RESORTS" in the app store. Here is more info if you are interested. http://amresorts.com/unlimited-connectivity/index.html Happy planning!! Lauren
  13. Hi ladies! Has anyone worn their hair down at Las Caletas? I would really like to and am planning to wear my hair 1/2 up, but many of you have warned against it because of the humidity. If you did wear it down or 1/2 up, how long did the style hold? Just trying to get some feedback so I can start researching other styles if necessary. Thanks!!
  14. LOVE the sky lanterns, don't you!? It will be such an amazing experience to share with our guests. Hopefully with the extra hour we will have enough time! Adding the drummers because of the connection to your FI is a great idea. Personal touches are what makes a wedding special. I'm sure your girls dresses will be beautiful and look so forward to seeing your pictures too!
  15. Hi! Time is flying by! What color are your dresses? Our colors are mint and coral so the girls are wearing long mint dresses for the ceremony and short coral ones for the reception (I'm changing too We decided to do the cigar bar as my fiancé and father-in-law love to share a cigar. We were going to also do tequila bar but opted for wish lanterns, s'mores bar and fire dancers. It's becoming quite a production, lol. Our guests will be very busy.
  16. Haha, just saw this and realized I posted the same thing to Carol! Seems we have a lot of November brides on here! 8 months and counting...
  17. Hi Carol! Your wedding is two days before ours! Where are you staying? We'll be at Dreams PV. Lauren
  18. Hi Brianna! Welcome to the forum! October will be here before you know it... I'm not getting married until November and it feels like it's right around the corner! Happy planning!
  19. You look great! Thanks for setting my mind at ease. I'll try to let go of expectations a little.
  20. I asked Blanca about this because I plan on changing for the reception as well but also read the casita would be closed & dark. The bathrooms are definitely too small. She said they could walk me back up to the casita with a flashlight or we could figure something else out, so don't worry.
