  1. This thread is full of info that will help you decide. We originally planned on Dreams too (that's where we're staying so it would be included), but decided that for the price, Las Caletas was well worth it. Check out their website for more info on different packages http://adventureweddingspv.com/. I'm warning you though, the more you see of Las Caletas, the more you will want to get married there!
  2. Hi everyone! Las Caletas was featured on Project Wedding! Thought all of my fellow brides would enjoy browsing through the beautiful pictures! http://www.projectwedding.com/real_wedding/show/ria-john-puerto-vallarta-mexico-blank
  3. Thanks for the info! I heard that they now have nice new ceremony chairs! Is this true? Do you have any pictures of them?
  4. I've read on here that a few brides have done a s'morz bar with great success...I also plan on doing one and am wondering if you personally bought stuff from Walmart or Costco ahead of time and brought it over with you the morning of or if the staff at Las Caletas provided it. Thanks!
  5. Your bridesmaids dresses are so cute! Where did you buy them? Were they available in other colors?
  6. Such a great review! We are also doing the sky lanterns, so it's awesome to see pics of them at Las Caletas! So glad you had a wonderful day. You looked beautiful! Congrats again and thanks for sharing!
  7. Krs, Your wedding will be amazing no matter what, but I'll be thinking of you and hoping the weather holds up! Can't wait to see pics and read your review! Have a great time and congrats!!
  8. Me too! I emailed Annie about this and her response wasn't very clear. From what I gathered, she said the company has recently invested a lot of money into services like photography and they are trying to promote the use of in house photographers. I also asked her if there would be any other charges not mentioned on our contract. This was her response, "Yes, the company have been investing in our photography service and this is the reason of the price increment. Have you already booked with another outside photographer? We for sure trying at our most to keep the price as it is, mostly for services that have been confirmed on your contract, but for other services we are working with some external supplier, and so, some prices might be subject to changes do to the fact that we do not have a major control on their price raise." It seems, the couples who have already booked should be fine but until it's finalized on the contract, nothing is for sure. Please let us know if you get any new info.!
  9. Hi Samantha! From what other brides have said on this forum, Fiesta night is every Friday night. I stayed at Secrets (Adults-only version of Dreams) last year and they did the same thing on a Friday night. They set up a bunch of tables around the pool with buffets of Mexican food and live entertainment. Also, just found out that they will reserve tables for your group if ypu give them a heads up! Saves tons of money on a Welcome Dinner. Hope this helps. -- Lauren
  10. Thanks, ladies! That is a huge help! We will definitely plan our welcome dinner around the fiesta night. Did anyone use sparklers at their wedding? If so, did you pack them and get through customs? I asked Annie if they sold them in PV and she said only during holidays twice a year.
  11. I've heard about that! That's great news that they will reserve a few tables for you! Thanks for the info ladies.
  12. Thanks for the info, Ann. Was your welcome dinner at Dreams considered a private event? Did you have to pay for this?
  13. Hi brides! I'm starting to research some places for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. We're staying at Dreams and I was wondering if anyone has had their rehearsal dinner there. Will they reserve some space for a larger group? We will have approx. 40 people. I've read that there are private options but we are trying to keep costs down. And we don't want to do the bonfire, because it is too similar to Las Caletas. I think meeting at one of the hotel bars will be fine for welcome cocktails, but I'm worried about having our rehearsal dinner at the hotel restaurants because of speechs, etc. What have you done? Any suggestions or past experiences would be a great help! Thanks!
  14. Thanks, lvietti! That's what I was thinking. I think communication will be so much easier in person & with pictures. We planned our vacation this year around our site visit, too. I heard there is also a Walmart & Sam's Club there, so looking forward to checking them out to see what we can leave at home and buy there (for our welcome bags). Thanks again for the tips!
  15. Has anyone done a pre-wedding site visit months beforehand? My fiance and I are going in a few months and wondering what you brought along or wish you brought along. Did you meet the photographer and DJ, or just the wedding coordinator? I'd like to come prepared. Thanks, everyone!
  16. Ann, I saw in your wedding video (which is so helpful, by the way) that you used tan runners on your tables. Did they supply them or did you bring them? If they supplied them, did they come at an extra cost? I also plan on using tan table runners, so just wondering. Thanks!
  17. That's where I'm ordering them. Thanks for the info. I asked Annie, but she wasn't sure. Yet another example of how useful this forum has been!
  18. Love your pictures! I'm also using papel picado banners (yours look just like mine--are they from etsy?) Also, wondering how many did you buy?
  19. Not sure if anyone has seen this, but found it on another thread. Thought I would share it because it's a recent & very informative review with great pictures. Enjoy! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/73398/5-8-11-las-caletas-wedding-full-review
  20. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a helpful &informative review! The pictures are great and your wedding was beautiful! Congrats!
  21. Thanks for the advice ladies! We will definitely get an agent and I am looking forward to alleviating some of the group travel planning stress. Iluvfrenchies, can't believe you've received such an overwhelming response from guests! All of the details sound fabulous and I'm sure your day will be amazing! Are you planning on bringing your centerpieces over with you or shipping them beforehand? I'm DIYing a lot of my decor details like centerpieces and favors and I'm wondering whether shipping them or traveling with them is the better option? Any other brides have experience with this?
