  1. how is everyone wording their dress code? I want basically sundresses, linen pants and light dress shirts but I'm really not sure how to word it. If I use the word "casual" in it, I know there are going to be some cargo shorts and t-shirts there.....
  2. that's a fantastic idea! I'm definitely going to add ball caps to the list of to-buy's.
  3. I am the same way- I usually tip at least 20% at restaurants. The service has to be pretty bad for me to tip the 'standard' 15%. Years as a waitress will do that to you.
  4. thanks....I was thinking the same thing. I would feel weird not tipping, so we'll probably tip everyone :-)
  5. quick question to everyone- I've been hearing conflicting information on tips. some people have said that tips are part of the "all inclusive" room rate, others are saying that you should tip.....
  6. We actually sent them out on Saturday, so most people have received them. We've gotten really great feedback on them.....
  7. I love this! I'm thinking we'll do something similar. I haven't started working on those yet, but I did start creating some mad libs for the guests (in lieu of a guestbook). Those were fun to do...
  8. thanks for the info! I went ahead and purchased the key holders.....awesome deal! I don't think we're going to have 100 people, but I'm thinking I'll just sell the remainders on here for a few cents apiece.
  9. I'm in the same situation....would love to get a head start on the OOT bags, but I really have no idea how many people we will have. For now, I'm just trying to find deals for the hangover/first aid stuff....at least with those if I have too many, it's not a huge deal.
  10. We're booking the first week in a regular room and then our last 3 days (once everyone has left) in the honeymoon suite. we wanted at least a few days in once, since they look so amazing.
  11. Kristina- thanks. There's still a lot of info I'd like to add to the website. It's just a matter of finding the time to research. I was thinking of doing some common Spanish phrases as well....let everyone get an early start on learning to say "I'd like a Pina Colada." Lol We aren't using a TA. I spoke to one and got some preliminary info, but the rates that were offered through the TA were actually higher than what the average rates on the website were. Plus, they wanted a $500 deposit to hold the room black, which seemed strange to me. In the years that I worked in hotels and booked wedding blocks, we never asked for a deposit for them. So, we're letting everyone book on their own. Can't wait to see your STD's. We're doing boarding pass invites, and I think we're going to end up doing those ourselves, since they can get a bit pricey.
  12. I'm also on the fence about it. The photos are stunning, but since my mom paid for the dress, I'm not really a fan of the idea of 'trashing' it. I'm actually considering getting one of the knock off dresses from China. That way, I'm not trashing my actual dress...just a $150 knock-off.
  13. My STD's are on their way, but I thought I'd share the proofs. We used Serendipity Beyond Design and they were fantastic to work with. Every step was completed earlier than the time estimate we were given and I love the quality of the work. They even sent us 3 different designs to choose from.
  14. So our STD's are on their way to me and I should have them in hand by Wednesday. I thought I'd share the proofs of them.....
  15. awesome.....I wasn't going to try to make them, but now I'm thinking it would be a fun project. Thanks for the inspiration!
  16. the Excellence was on our short list. After reading your review, I'm so glad we chose the Ocean Blue & Sands instead. I'm so sorry your special day was ruined....

  18. she's right....the shakes do taste good, but they don't satisfy you at all. I was hungry within an hour of having a shake.
  19. I read some time ago that the amount of water you should drink = 1/2 your weight in ounces. So if you weigh 150 lbs, you should drink at least 75 oz of water. I've been doing that for a while now. At first you feel like you're drowning. now I'm used to it.
  20. I'm constantly changing up my makeup- especially eye makeup, so I don't think I'd do it. It would be amazing to never have to put eyeliner on, but can you imagine the pain???? My tattoos hurt like hell, and those aren't anywhere near my eyes.....
