@adventurebarbie There are actually quite a few options. There are chapels on many of the resort properties but you're right that many of them are Catholic. Another possibility would be to marry in a venue off-resort. Sooooo many beautiful and PRIVATE options. Below is a sample of a beachfront venue just south of Cancun with it's own chapel practically RIGHT on the beach or you can opt for a stand alone alter! Feel free to look through some of our other online albums for a little destination wedding inspiration

@@jackshayne0123 Doing a Trash or Rock the Dress session on your anniversary makes perfect sense! It's always awesome to get to wear your dress one more time and to do it in a casual and fun way makes it even better!!! Sooooo many fun possibilities for sessions here in the Riviera Maya, Mexico all mixed in with a fun adventure for the afternoon...

@@bpatel9rx From our experience with our clients they are fairly strict with the cut off times for events at Moon Palace. The wedding coordinator usually stays with you and will give you a 30 to 15 minute warning and ask if you'd like to pay extra to extend your time. We've also had couples do a combination of playing music from their own iPod with a proper sound system as well as hiring a DJ.

@@Leslied You won't regret choosing the terrace! It's very breezy and the evening weather here in April is usually perfect. Tip: it doesn't hurt to plan on having a very light shawl for dinner on the off chance the temperature dips a little. With the wind evenings can sometimes feel chillier...well that is until you get dancing!

Hola fellow Canadians! My hubby and I are both Canadian destination wedding photographers living here in Mexico shooting beach/resort weddings in Cancun and all throughout the Riviera Maya. I'm from Toronto and Manuel was actually born and raised in Cancun! Feel free to take a peek at some of our work and remember because we live here in paradise we don't charge any travel fees (no need to pay for airfare or 1 week in an all-inclusive hotel for us), we're bilingual, know the area and since we're Canadian you can also pay us in Canadian dollars. Let us know if you have any questions & if you're from the Toronto area we'd be happy to meet with you in person next time we're in town visiting!

@@beccafries @Dido77 You're right! Many hotels/resorts throughout Cancun/Riviera Maya that weren't charging vendor fees in the past now are (or they've significantly increased the fee). We still always tell our couples who haven't booked a hotel yet to do their best to negotiate BEFORE committing to a resort. If bringing in your own photographer is important to you let them know that. Sometimes it can become a bargaining chip in order to book at the hotel. If you're already booked it doesn't mean all hope is lost but it's definitely harder! It seems as if there are rules and then it goes on a case by case basis (can vary from couple to couple) on how it all unfolds in the end with the resort. Oh...and always get what you discuss with the wedding coordinator in writing Best of luck!

@@november15 Hola, you'd be surprised but there are actually quite a few local Indian priests now offering traditional Hindu & Sikh ceremonies throughout the Riviera Maya (including Moon Palace) so no flight or hotel accommodations necessary. We recently shot a Sikh wedding at MP and were talking to them about this very topic. Let us know if we can be of any help!

Does anyone have any experiences that they can share? Good? Bad? Did you bring your own make-up? What about waxing, nails, etc.? 2. I am also looking for a videographer, and am considering using Ocean Photographer Studio, but am weary because I don't know if they have ever filmed an Indian wedding. Has anyone used them before? Are there any other local videographers that you recommend? Thanks ladies! Hey FutureMrsSing, We just shot a beautiful Sikh wedding at Moon Palace last weekend. I'll be honest that our bride went to the salon and ended up leaving to do her hair and make-up herself. She got nervous because the stylist she was assigned to didn't have a hair piece to add volume to her hair and said that she would just make a few curls for her. Either way she just felt more comfortable doing it on her own! I think if you went with someone at the salon you might want to bring specific examples of Indian bridal make-up and hair styles you're after. We do work with a local videographer here in Mexico who has filmed an Indian wedding. They're not on this forum but we'd be happy to connect you. -Jen Salazar Bicoastal Images
