  1. We are paying about $2000 for both of us for our resort. My fiances brother is gifting us our flights down, he travels alot for business and has tons of miles. Our resort is not AI so we have to budget for food and drinks which shouldnt be more than $1000 for the week for both of us.
  2. I actually did tyr to put it out my head too, i tried on other dresses and found one that i liked, i made the deposit and then immediately had buyers remorse when i got home. I spent a week thinking of the lace dress and how i wish i didnt order the other one. Then i got a call from the bridal salon, apparently my deposit didnt go through, the transaction timed out and neither of us noticed in store, they didnt figure it out till they balanced the books. lol i took this as a sign that i should have never got that dress and now i have a second chance with dress that i cant stop thinking about
  3. I love the lace as well.. i have a slight obsession with it actually! Hopefully i love it just as much when i try it on.
  4. Dont have a dress yet but i cant get this one out of my head. Until i try it on no other dress is gonna compare Its not available in my city and i have to road trip 13 hrs to try it on. Hope its worth it
  5. For all you ladies out there.. how much is your groom to be involved in the planning of the wedding... and more specifically the decor.. does he really care what colors are chosen? which flowers you want? has there been anything he specifically says we does not want?
  6. Ive heard from several people that just the sand and ocean TTD shoots dont really affect your dress that much.. nothing that cant be fixed at the dry cleaner..
  7. LOL i tried reading that turtorial but i think its still too advanced for me.. but i like the buckle and ribbon.. that i could do
  8. These are beautiful.. how did you do these? Sorry im not a crafty person and have no idea what a letterpress is also where did you get the rhinestone rings and are they expensive?
  9. Such beautiful pictures krysta!!!! Now i want a TTD shoot at dunns, my potographer is gonna hate me as it seems im gonna have a 5 hr TTD session lol theres too many locations i want them all
  10. Im having my resort in jamaica at a small resort.. I didnt send out STD i just talked to everyone in person or through email about what we were thinking of doing to find out who would be coming (or who would be bringing kids) I did this just with people that were important.. bridal party and immediate family, then just gave a heads up for everyone else. Now that we picked our exact date all those people we initially talked to are already booked.. we will still send out invites to make it more formal and to give those who just got a heads up a little more info to book
  11. I wonder if they still have these.. this is exactly what im looking for
  12. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! You have such and amazing planning thread, awesome job. I cant wait to see the after pics and how it all came together
  13. Thanks for all the responses!! I think am going to haul it all down and put them together there to hand out. still have to plan some kind of welcome party, as im not staying at an all inclusive this could get pricey,, we are al ready paying for a full reception dinner with open bar for our wedding and dont know if we can afford to host and pay for a welcome party as well
  14. Your pictures of your wedding are so amazing!!!! Del sol did such an amazing job. I love your TTD shoot and man i want your shoes for my wedding.. i wish they cam in purple but i checked and they dont
  15. I do love it!!! he did such a good job. I have tried on a couple different tacori bands i dont remember eactly which one was supposed to go with the ering but i fell in love with a scalloped one and loved the way they both looked together
  16. I really feel behind all we have is *resort booked thats about it. We are not doing STD or a website as 85% of our guests are booked as well. but i guess i should get going with everything else
  17. So here are a couple pics of by beauty. I love it!!! I always wanted to go shopping for it as i am really picky with jewelery and never wear any but he decided to just pick one out himself and he did an amazing job. Funny thing is ive always wanted a tacori ring. fell in love with them when i was 16 flipping through pages of cosmo (damn advertising ruined me). I have never mentioned this love to my finace as i never thought it would be possible to have such an expensive ring (it not like hes well off). When he proposed and pulled out the ring and i saw that it was a tacori i was like how did you know!! (after saying yes of course) lol
  18. i also plan on incorporating some sparkly as well because thats just me. As burlap and lace is trendy right now.. it is also very me and my fiance, i would be described as very girly, delicate princess like with my love of things shiny and sparkly, while my fiance is ruggedly handsom very manly lol almost lumberjackish hahaha... hence hes burlap and im lace
  19. Congrats!!!! And welcome!!! It really does depend on the resort your at as far as price goes. But i wouldn't go in to the idea that you'll save alot of money doing a destination wedding than doing one at home. It is possible but once again depends on resort. You have to do alot of research and of course ask the WC at the resorts you are interested in about all associated fees. When i started doing this i was surprised about fees that i never even thought about like set up fees charged per person, i also read on this forum that one bride had to to pay a set up fee of $500 per table for the reception at one of the all inclusive resorts, and at some resorts even though they are AI you still pay for your reception dinner and drinks (this does not make sense to me, thats paying double for food and alcohol as its supposed to be included in the package price) It also depends on how anal of a bride you are. Most of the 'free' wedding packages or cheap ones at resorts are very basic so if you have a vision for your wedding it can be expensive trying to bring it together but if your ok just doing basic then its great cause its free. Im pretty sure most resorts also have outside vendor fees that range anywhere from 250-500 per vendor. So if you chose a resort and get booked in and you absolutley hate the photographer the resort sticks you with (which is the most common thing brides dont use from the resort because they usually suck) prepare to pay an outside vendor fee to bring in someone you like. Im having my wedding at a small boutique hotel the price per person for my guests ranges anywhere from 1200 - 1800 pp depending on what room they book but its not AI so they still have food and drink to pay for as well. Most of my guests didnt mind this as the resort still has complimentary breakfast and my guests dont plan on being at the resort all that much as they would love to see jamaica and do excursions which means they would probably be paying for lunch everyday anyway and we are also the type of people how like to go around and try different restaurants and the local food. So for me planning my wedding i had to go into it knowing i would be paying for a full reception and bar which means Ill probably be spending the same amount of money on my wedding as i would spend at an at home wedding and perhaps it might even be more, but hey im in jamaica! There is a thread on this forum somewhere with a poll on how much you think your wedding will cost you. I think the most common answer was around 10,000-15000 but i could be wrong
  20. where did you fing the clear plastic baggie to put things in.. im having a hard time finding these
  21. our theme is more of a vintage theme.. burlap and lace.. kinda rustic vintage i guess. our colors are ivory and deep purple (and brown from the burlap) thinking of maybe adding some coral in there too
  22. Glam is so easy to incorporate into any theme.. you just need to add some sparkly!!! lol i will also be incorporating that
