  1. Thanks for your encouragment ladies.. i really do want to go try it on again.. only my mom has seen it adn i think i desperatly need the opinion of my MOH to be completely satisfied. Also because i went and tried the dress on the day it came in it was in a little bit disarray. Im also altering the first layer of tulle as its only about an inch long and im scared its going to continue flipping up like in the pic so im going to take that off and tack down the lace at the bottom of the bodice to the second longer layer of tulle.. just to make sure it all lays flat. Also the length is a bit overwhelming... and makes the ruffles over take me.. so with the length removed hopefully it will be perfect and no more regret
  2. This is soo pretty.. I love the high low dresses.. great for showing off shoes!
  3. This is such a pretty dress.. so glad you found something that made you feel more bridal and elegant for the change of venue
  4. This is beautiful.. and i definately agree with the other ladies and say that you should wear the belt... the bling it add just gives it that something special.. i know you already bought this belt but i almost think that going with a sash in a heavier fabric.. like a thick satin would make the bow in the back more substantial and look a bit better... but it still looks great
  5. Choco.. I love this dress, obviously i love lace but this is stunning on you! I love the shape its gorgeous!
  6. My Aiden just came in yesterday and I tried it on. I love it!!! Like I said it has a similar fit as the Lilith I posted pics in the wedding dress thread
  7. I FINALLY GOT MY DRESS!!!!!!!!! For those of you who dont know the story.... i bought this dress without trying it on. I fell in love with it online and couldnt get it out of my head. Nowhere in my city had it. I actually purchase another dress but after a week (of regret i might add) i found out that the deposit didn't actually go through (yay!) So in the end after trying on countless Maggies and camparing it all to this one I took a leap of faith and bought my Maggie. I came in today... i got the phone call and left work to go try it on! LOL. I love it and its all i hoped it would be. The top layer in this pic desperately needs to to be pressed but im also taking out that top layer and taking the lace edge down to the loger second layer just to make sure it all lays nicely flat
  8. I tried the Lilith on because its the same shape as the one I wanted to order (aiden). The fit is amazing and made my waist super tiny. But sorry I didn't get pics
  9. Ive said it before and ill say it again. This is a gorgeous dress!!! And that belt is stunning. It looks fantastic on you! Congrats!
  10. Wow the arabella is gorgeous!!!!! Its soooooo scary ordering without trying on....When do you expect it to come in? I get mine real soon. Maybe even this week!!! Hopefully i love it like i love the picture of it lol
  11. Thats agreat idea!!!! Then you dont need to feel guilty about taking money from them lol. I would do that as well.. but our resort is non AI so in the end its almost like doing a wedding at home.. i have to pay for reception, open bar. everything!
  12. Hey im from manitoba and here we call them socials.... mine is on saturday.. so i say go with it. We werent going to have one either because of the destination wedding... but when we started telling people that they flipped on us. Socials are definately an expected thing here in winnipeg. Not sure if there is much difference between socials and stag and does but ours are usually a pparty for a couple hundred people.
  13. Mine is the 20th. But so far i haven't heard of too many that day. But then again there's like 20 socials every weekend in this city. Crazy that 3 people at your work all have one that day. Do they all know each other? You would think they would coordinate! Lol well if you don't already have one your going to feel free to come to mine!!! Lol
  14. ya exactly!! stag and doe in ontario and i think a jack and jill in alberta?? except in manitoba we forgo the games... just dancing and auctions... 50/50 draw too! but so stressfull!! well trying to sell the tickets is especially when you have a small family most of which arent in the province
  15. It is a ton of fun but super stressful. Between the hall, liquor, dj, food and other little things it cost almost $5000 to put on the social. You try to make that money by selling the tickets. So if you don't sell enough tickets and not many people show up you can lose money. But in the other hand if you sell lots of tickets and tons of people show up and they all get really drunk and spend alot of money on raffle tickets you can make alot of money. I don't really care about making alot of money I just don't want to lose
  16. I am in love with Benjamin Adams shoes but they are beyond my budget
  17. Any manitoba brides???? my social is in one week and im super stressed... can anyone relate?
  18. No not really. Most people find it kinda of tacky but its a manitoba tradition and if you dont have one people go crazy asking why you dont have one. But heres the basics... You rent a hall usually for 300-600 people (depending on the size of your family and how many people you think you can get to attend) you get a liquor permit adn alcohol enought for the amount of people you expect to attend. Then usually close friends and family and business donate prizes for a silent auction. Then you sell tickets usually $10 a ticket to friends and family and everyone you know, and they sell to everyone they know.. till you sell as many tickets as your hall holds. It like a fundraiser to celebrate the couple getting married. Like i said most people find it tacky.. but where im from theres socials practiacally every weekend and sometimes they are not just for weddings... i have been to socials for everything from fundraisers for pet shelters... lawyers fees... even to help to guys backpack europe! lol. Really its just a good excuse to party... drinks are cheap $2.50 or $3.00 (cheaper than any bar) theres free food and prizes to be won.
  19. Love these shoes!!! But in the Amethyst color!!!! not bad pricing either... most bling shoes are over 300
  20. I feel like ive been missing from this thread lately.. Only 1 week to togo till my wedding social. So busy.. and sooooo stressed out but also super pumped!!
