  1. Step 1 Start by tracing out your 4 different sized stencils on both the organza and bridal satin. On the bridal satin trace the circles on the non-shiny side (im sure that has a technical term but beats me!) I like to trace 4 of the largest size and 5 of each of the 3 other sizes on both fabrics, for a total of 38 circles (i dont always use them all and of course it also depends on how large or small you want your flower) Next cut out your cirlces, make sure that if you traced with black marker like i have that you leave NO marker on the edges (cut just inside of the lines) or else what little marker left behind turns very black when you burn the edges. Im sure there could be a better and faster way of doing this step such as layering fabric for 5 layers and just cutting it once to make 5 circles but i have yet to try it as the fabric is slippery and even with pins i dont see it working well for me. All the cut circles. You can now also cut out some random pieces of lace, these dont have to be perfect circles and you only need 3 or 4 or none if you dont want to, its just a decorative element.
  2. So I posted in an earlier thread that I bought some beautiful fabric flowers off of etsy for $25 each. After closer inspection i realized that it didnt look to hard to make and gave it a try on my own. Turns out they are actually pretty easy and at cost of approximately $1.50 each to make, well worth it to make my own. So I thought I would make up a tutorial for anyone out there who wants to attempt to make one, or several. Supplies There are some supplies needed that are missing from the picture. But I'll list them off. 1. Bridal satin 2. Organza 3. Lace 4. Good fabric scissors 5. A marker or chalk for tracing 6. 4 different sizes of stencils (you can see that i used shot glasses, as well as a ribbon roll and bead cord roll) 7. White thread and needle 8. Candle ( i just used a votive, oh and of course something to light the candle lol) 9. A variety of beads, or decorative buttons 10. Felt 11. Backing of choice (can be brooch pin, or hair clip, or nothing)
  3. Hey! I originally was going to stamp my bags as well but after stamping small canvas bags for my barefoot sandals and seeing just how much ink it takes I decided to do iron on transfers. It really is the easiest and cheapest way of personalizing canvas totes and gives great results!!! If you decide to go that way I just suggest to buy the Avery brand of transfers as the ones from michaels are horrible. Here is a pic of my totes. I just did Jamaica with the date so guests could re use them for anything. I also attached a pic of my hand stamped favour bags so you can see how that turns out.
  4. That is absolutely gorgeous!!! Unfortunately most resorts work probably charge a minimum of $200-$300 per table for something like that. I'm getting my flowers from floral fantasy in Jamaica and while they at definately the most reasonably priced of everything I've seen or even read on these forums. I'm still getting charged $50 per table for just flowers for two small metal pails that I'm bringing myself. All that's going in each pail is some hydrangea and a couple garden roses per pail. So something like that centerpiece would cost more than my entire decor budget!
  5. Same as choco most photographers I contacted did t cover the vendor fee. Most resorts do have preferred vendors where the fee is waived but if you don't like any of the vendors on their list you can also look at the cost of booking your photographer into a room as most resorts also waive the fee if the vendor is staying on site for the minimum night requirement. A $800 fee is quite high so depending on what the room rates are it might be cheaper to book a room for 3 nights
  6. I would definitely do fuschia napkins on the grey tablecloth! That would look really nice and better than white
  7. Ooo I love that and it's similar to what I'm going for too. How much we're the mercury glass votives at chapters?
  8. Tulum!!! These are awesome. Sorry for the late comment I think this thread made it to the bottom of the pile somewhere until people started commenting on it again lol. I have totally fallen off the wagon with my sandals. I still have like 10 pairs or something to go I should really get started again I've just had no DIY motivation lately
  9. Thanks ladies!! I went ahead and ordered the peep toe ones! I figured I like them enough that even if I don't like them with my dress I know ill love them with jeans! And for only $40 why not!
  10. I am having such a hard time finding shoes that I love. I really want dark purple shoes with not too high of a heel preferably with some bling but I could always add that after. Right now all I've found that I like are these but they are both suede and I'm not sure if that works well with a lace and tulle dress. [/img]
  11. I was super easy! I originally bought transfers from micheals, DO NOT buy these transfers! They are horrible! I thought I wasn't doing it right and was having a super hard time but then I returned them and went to staples and bought the Avery brand transfers for light fabric and it was easy as pie. I designed everything in word, I think I got 5 to one sheet and just printed it on the transfer paper with my ink jet printer. I used my paper trimmer to cut them out staying as close to the font as I could then you just iron it on. It's hard to tell from the pic bit the color is much more vibrant in person. I just put Jamaica and the date because I didn't want them too personalized in hopes that people would use them again
