    I had Erika as my WC- sometimes it took up to a week to hear back from her earlier in the planning process but in the last 2 months, I'd usually hear back from her within the day. So don't worry, contact improves as you get closer to your date!

    As a side note to all other brides, do NOT order from House of Brides! They do not know what customer service entails and should not be in the wedding industry if they cannot guarantee their product.

    Hello fellow BDW brides! I'm a little bit paniced and a whole lot stressed- one of my BM's ordered her dress online back in August, and the company told her the dress would be shipped by mid November. It is now almost late January and still no dress! And we leave in less than 2 weeks, with no promises from the company that we will receive the dress! They're not even a little apologetic or showing any effort to help us out... Hoping one of you fine ladies may have seen this dress recently or something similar or even know someone that has previously worn it...     Hi Lori, just wanted to let you know that the Karisma line of resorts have two chapels on their properties. I am getting married in less than 2 and a half weeks at the El Dorado Maroma chapel (we are staying at Azul Sensatori). A little bit of extra paper work was all that was needed to arrange the Catholic ceremony. Good luck with your planning

    Yes, we did order from House of Brides! How did you know? Are they known for this type of thing? I've called both Bill Levkoff in the US and the Canadian supplier as well- unfortunately, the earlies they can get me something is in 4 weeks, which is too late. Thank you very much for the offer to call around Illinois. I am planning on calling House of Brides tomorrow and speaking with the person with the most authority, and being forceful to ensure they do everything in their power to get me that dress! That is so sweet of you murmel! I will let you know if I find anything. Have a good trip to Edmonton! Dress warmly as the temperature dropped again yesterday and we just had a snowstorm!

    I know weddings are never perfect, but I wasn't expecting the imperfections and major hiccups to start until we arrived in Mexico! Two of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses online- one ordered in May and received hers in August and the other ordered in August with the promise that she should receive it my mid November. It is now mid January and she still has not received it! The company hasn't made any apology and is now not even guaranteeing the dress will arrive before we leave 2 weeks from today! How can you be in the wedding business and not guarantee a product by a certain date? And now it's too late for me to even rush order the dress from anywhere else...needless to say I'm upset and stressed to the max. What to do???

When looking for a travel agent, search for one that is GI certified- they will be able to give you exclusive perks at the Karisma line of hotels. http://www.karismahotels.com/GourmetInclusive At the bottom of this webpage, there is a search function for a GI consultant. Unfortunately yes, it's $800 per each vendor. Because it also made me sick to think of spending $1600 on nothing, I decided to pay $800 for an outside photographer and then book the resort approved Guitar Trio as well use use our own music for the rest of the time of the reception. Have fun planning!
