Thank you murmel for all of your helpful suggestions & tips- your insight was very much appreciated!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Ashley Lovlin Awesome thread! I was just curious if you ordered your pinata through the hotel and how much did it cost? I would love to have one and was thinking it might not be that great of an idea with no kids, but saw that your adult guests loved it! So now I totally wanna get one too. Is that the cake stand the hotel provided? I know they aren't "cake masters" but yours turned out super cute! Will they decorate it how you want it or did you have to do that? I'm ordering real touch flowers that match my bouquet to go on the cake but I really like the ribbon around it too! And for the water bottles- is this something the hotel provided and you just put the labels on or did you buy the water from town and do it all yourself? I just think something like water bottles the hotel should be able to provide but I don't mind putting on the labels and the crafty stuff. Were they really helpful at the hotel with the crafty stuff or did you do everything prior to coming and just have them set it up. Any insight appreciated! THanks Small world! I was born and raised in PG, and until several months ago, my parents still lived there! I did order the pinata from the resort WC- I paid $120 for it, and it was filled with a ton of sweets! I also got to select my shape and colours. Haha, thanks for the cake compliments! I had seen pictures of some previous disasters, which made me nervous, and I decided I wasn't going to leave it to chance and bring my own cake decorations. I then gave them the ribbon (bought at Fabricland), fondant shells and cake topper and they arranged it on the cake nicely. We bought the water bottles at $1 a piece from the resort WC and my now MIL glued them on easily. The resort then put them in coolers in our transport vehicles on the day of. Let me know if you have any more questions Thank you kindly!

Vancouver Destination Wedding Photo and Videographer
tkuzma replied to luckymaggie's topic in Brides Roll Call
Hi again Maggie, I don't know anything about videographers because we never looked into one for our wedding. I think I will have a pretty nice collection of photos- I've seen them all and I'm quite happy! Unfortunately, I don't have the actual files of my favourites to share with you yet. I posted some of the teasers throughout my wedding planning journal I just posted- http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/85214/tkuzmas-mayan-riviera-wedding-planning-journal-february-7-2013 Let me know if you have any more questions -

Thank you ladies for all of you kind comments! You're making me blush -
I was surprised how many of our guests were totally into getting all the shots on the list. I think they thought it was some competition, haha. Thank you! And now I have my own mini Eiffel tower to remind me of the occasion Thank you very much, I appreciate it! Enjoy planning because your wedding date will be here soon!

I wish I had brought more of the spray sunscreen. It makes reapplying so much easier and more likely to do it! -

Thank you very much! We were married in the Mayan Riviera- we stayed at the Azul Sensatori and had our reception there. Our ceremony was at the neighboring Karisma resort, El Dorado Maroma. -
I purchased a TON of stuff from Etsy for our wedding! I included all the pictures and links in my wedding planning journal. Take a look if you are interested... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/85214/tkuzmas-mayan-riviera-wedding-planning-journal-february-7-2013. Thought it would be easier for me to share this link rather than re-posting every single item I bought!

Vancouver Destination Wedding Photo and Videographer

Hi Maggie! Just wanted to let you know about Dean Sanderson (http://www.deansandersonweddings.com/; http://www.facebook.com/DeanSandersonWeddings?ref=ts&fref=ts). He's actually a Canadian photographer who used to be based out of Vancouver, but who recently moved down to the Mayan Riviera. He just photographed our wedding, and he's great to work with. Check him out because you'd save money in not having to pay someone's travel fees! Good luck with planning! -
Thank you Dazeydawl! Please "steal" away I hope they are useful to you. Quote: Originally Posted by DinaQtobe Everything looked just beautiful! I love your dress! Thanks so much Dina! El Dorado Maroma was fantastic! Maroma beach is beautiful with crystal blue water and a ton of fine white sand; it's been voted one of the world's top 10 beaches, and it deserves it! The resort itself is peaceful without much of a party scene, but for us on our honeymoon that was absolutely perfect. The service is second to none. The food is superb- you must try the Asian restaurant. If you have any other questions about EDM, let me know

Well I believe this is it for my planning journal! Since we paid for our wedding ourselves, I tried to save as much money as possible by finding the best deals. Hopefully the websites and companies I used will save you money as well. Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have! Best of luck and wishing you many happy memories in planning your special day!!! Love, ~Tamara~

Photographer We chose Dean Sanderson (http://www.deansandersonweddings.com/; http://www.facebook.com/#!/DeanSandersonWeddings?fref=ts ) to photograph our wedding, and we could not be happier with this decision! Based on the quality of his work, his prices are very reasonable. On our wedding day, he brought his friend, Catherine O’Hara, another photographer (http://www.catherineohara.com/; http://www.facebook.com/#!/catherineoharaweddingandlifestylephotography?fref=ts ) who happened to be visiting from Paris, to be his assistant. We lucked out to have two amazing photographers capture memories from our day for us. Dean is professional but with a great sense of humor who put us at ease (my FI hates posing for pictures!). We are thrilled with the pictures we have seen so far!
