  1. Have you tried going through a travel agent? I'd recommend calling some- I think it will save you a lot of time, stress and tears! I recommend calling a Flight Centre near you and asking to be referred to their wedding department! My FC TA has been a lifesaver
  2. Can you please explain who the HITS band is? Sounds intriguing!
  3. I am full of questions today! One more for previous brides or ladies who have previously visited the resort: Are guests provided with a list of restaurants/amenities/map of the resort upon their arrival at AS or in their rooms? I am just trying to figure out whether it's necessary to include this information in a welcome booklet?
  4. Argh, I wanted to pay for my BM's hair and makeup, but given the spa prices, I don't think we can afford it ($168 for makeup, seriously?!). Have any of you seen hair/makeup deal being advertised on the main page of BDW? $100 for hair and makeup for BM's and $150 for the bride by Sara Tamargo. It looks like she does beautiful work. I am trying to figure out whether it's worth it and will save me $ considering I'm sure I'd be charged the $800 outside vendor fee if I went this route. Hi Jenny, I've searched and I can't find websites for them. However, I haven't asked my WC about it, so maybe they do have one...? Let me know if you hear anything I don't know if it helps for comparison, I got a quote back from DJ Mannia today (who I've heard is highly recommended!) for $990 for 4 hrs. I was thrilled until I realized I would still owe another $800 on top of this to Karisma. Question for you ladies...so as time passes it seems like our guest list gets smaller and smaller, which is ok with me; I'm thinking we'll likely have 30 guests, max 40 and that's pushing it. Initially I was thinking 50 guests, so I thought for sure I'd hire a DJ. Now I'm wondering should I still do a DJ or do something more intimate like a mariachi band for dinner and IPod music after? Thoughts?
  5. Welcome back ELAINENYC!!! For the girls that have already used the salon- how much was it to have your bridesmaids' hair done? Thanks!
  6. AllieH, you inspired me to go jewellery shopping today! And I bought myself some dangly crystal earrings Now just a bracelet and hair clip to match!
  7. Oops...I pasted the wrong website, use this one instead! http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/planning/index.php
  8. Hi Jenny, for all your wedding planning options, you'll be referring to this website (http://www.film-your-day.com/weddings) a lot! Looks like current approved photographers are Caribe Photo & Royale Photo. And DJ's are DJ all Music and Mega DJ.
  9. So I was just researching wedding videographers after my mother insisted I look into it for my own wedding, and I came across something I think is pretty cool and is reasonable priced! http://www.film-your-day.com/weddings You are sent several video cameras and you distribute amongst your wedding party/guests and the end result is edited into a film!
  10. I did just a super quick search for you, and I found Blue Lens Caribe does both photo and video- they actual posted a wedding they shot a few pages back. Good luck in your search!
  11. I see it's been awhile since anyone has posted in this thread! Let's reinvigorate it! I'm a huge jewellery person- especially large dangly earrings! Anyone have recommendations where I can find some crystal ones?
  12. Have any you girls priced outside DJs? I'm trying to figure out if it's still worth it given the $800 outside vendor fee. Thanks!
  13. Sorry but I am not going to post a picture of my dress because an Internet google search of my name pulls up me posting in this forum and I don't want to risk certain people finding a picture of it! I bought my dress at Nouvelle Bridal, which I highly recommend! Other bridal salons that I liked were Pure Bridal and The Bridal House. Good luck on finding your dress!
  14. to the forum!!! There is a wealth of information to be found here- and it helps make wedding planning more fun! Where are you from? Have you considered bringing a photographer/videographer from home? I don't know offhand who in Mexico does both as I only looked into photogs!
  15. Hi ladies! I am staying at the Azul Sensatori and will be having my reception there, but my actual ceremony will be at the El Dorado Maroma chapel. Is anyone else having their ceremony at the chapel? Or seen previous brides reviews/pictures from ceremonies there? Any information would be greatly appreciated! I am excited to actual spend time at this resort on our honeymoon
  16. Crystal, I went to each page and "liked" them and commented on them! Hope you win!!! PS. Thanks for your support during my contest! Thanks katman for the thought! Unfortunately I didn't win, but I'm more than thrilled as I just found my dream dress in my budget anyways!
  17. I concur with the other ladies- a good TA is worth more than gold when it comes to planning a destination wedding! By referring all your guests to one individual, it's a whole load of stress off your shoulders. And if your guests don't like the group rate given by the TA they can look elsewhere and that's up to them and won't cause you a headache! Good luck
  18. Welcome to all the new brides-to-be!!! 8 more months until 2013 is here
  19. Seatkins22 welcome to the forum!!! Happy belated wedding day Mnd3A! So glad to hear that it was amazing! Can't wait to hear details!!!
  20. GinaP & KathyM86!!! Congrats on your engagements and on picking a fabulous resort to get married at! I'd recommend reading through several of the last hundred posts (I actually started from the beginning and just getting to the 1100's- don't recommend this!) as you'll find a lot of useful information posted by past/current brides and a lot of your questions will be answered! Gina, I don't know if I've heard of anyone using Matias Cano, but a lot of brides have used Caribe. Kathy if you search both this website and google you'll come across many pics of previous receptions on the beach, at Palapas Yoga, at Zavas Plaza & Terrace and Zocalo Terrace (I believe these are all possible locations for private receptions). Going through this thread, I've read posts by brides who have had their receptions at all these possible locations, and everyone has said their privay was respected by the other hotel guests.
  21. Congratulations yeemein!!! You looked gorgeous, and your dress fit you perfectly Can't wait to see the rest of your photos, and hope you do a planning thread!
  22. Leah! Any particular questions about photographers? The ladies here have all gone through a variety of photographers, so lots of different perspectives!
