  1. I just received an email from Evangelina. She answered all of my questions and "introduced" me to my new WC, Yamina.
  2. I say change the date. No shame in sending a letter, especially if you are tryingnto save guests a minimum of $500.
  3. I picked the Love Package The corresponding menu has 2 complete meal options. Evangelina let us mix and match from those 2 menu choices. Beware-you are only allowed to choose ONE entree for EVERYONE. We chose a seafood entree and I know that some of my guests are allergic. I've emailed Evangelina to let her know that we may have a few guests who will need another option. I'm sure it will be fine.
  4. I asked Evangelina the same thing. This is what I sent her in an email. Her response is in red: 1. We would like the Silver/Love Dinner Package withthe following options: (Question-Will our guests be given the option of bothSnapper or Beef on the day of the reception?) Dinner a la carteé (SILVER MENU FOR LOVE PACKAGE) Raviolis filled with spinach served trees cheese sauce Smoke salmon salad with endive and fresh asparagus Cream of Asparagus with roasted almond Red snapper filet over ratatouille and beurre blanc sauce “OR†Individual beef Wellington served with charon sauce Tulip of strawberry with grand Marnier sauce and ice vanilla ice cream What do you prefer, red snapper or beef wellington???
  5. We used a travel agent here in California. We have guests coming from all over the US, so it was easier for us to have someone arrange all their travel and field all their questions, rather than everyone coming to us for that. Here are the prices our TA gave us. Again, since everyone wwas coming from different places, the prices include ROOM only: 4 nights: August Premium Garden View- $675 per person Premium Ocean View- $706 per person 5 nights: August Premium Garden View- $833 per person Premium Ocean View- $873 per person 7 Nights: August Premium Garden View- $1,113 per person Premium Ocean View- $1,169 per person I would guestimate that flights would be $500/per person (our were $1000 for my fiance and I) tops for our guests. I'm not sure about coming from Canada. I hope this helps!
  6. Evangelina told me that we had to choose one entree for everyone. I think it seems weird. If anyone else was able to give their guests options, please let me know how to go about doing so.
  7. This is great! Thanks again. I have one question, and I'm sorry if you've mentioned this before, but is that the pool terrace or the pool deck?

  9. I had the same question too. I chose the Silver menu. Then I asked Evangelina if we could pick and chose certain items from option 1 and option 2 (basically, if we could mix and match)...she said yes so we basically designed our menu from all the Silver options listed. I also asked if we (my fiance and I) were to choose 2 entrees and have our guests order at the reception. She told us we were to pick one, which seems weird to me. We chose a fish as our main entree and my fiance suggested that we put a "nutritinal disclaimer" on our wedding site, letting our guests know that if they have allergies to fish or anything, they need to tell us. If anyone else has any insight, i'd reallyl ike to hear what your menu plans are! Thanks! Also i know we have to tell her what entree each guests wants can they choose from all 8? or do i pick 2 different ones and they can only choose from the 2 i select? ahhhh im probably not explaining this correctly hopefully someone understands me and can help me out! I wish we could just do a buffet it would be way easier, but she told us u have to have at least 30 people to do that, and we only have 18. Thanks ladies!
  10. I know this isn't really relevant to DRC, but I didn't see any other threads about it. Those of you using TAs, are you getting them a gift? If so, any suggestions? Should they be invited to the wedding? Kate
  11. I just wanted to give an update on my planning. I emailed Evangelina yesterday and she got back to me today and answered all of my questions, so I figured I would share in case anyone else had the same questions: 1. I wanted to remove the cocktail hour from the LOVE package and use the credit to add 20 additional guests to the reception-she appoved that 2. I want the LOVE dinner menu, which has 2 options. I asked her if it was possible to mix and match menu items from each of the options.-she approved that as well
  12. We were going to do the preferred club with the plunge pool. We want to be on the first floor so it is easy for our guest to find us. We went to a wedding at Dreams Tulum last year and the bride and grrom has a room very centrally located next to the main pool. Seems like something we are interested in also, but Dream Riveria doesn't seem to have anything comprable. We have ultimately decided on the Preferred club with the jaccuzi (i think it has one jaccuzi inside and one on the patio), first floor also. sidenote, i REALLLLLY wanted a swimup room at Secrets but they don't allow kids and we have a few underagers coming. :/
  13. So my fiance and I chose the Love package. We have 2 options for dinner. I know we have to pick one of 2 options. But, will our guests order at the table? or do we have to get their order when they RSVP then submit a list to the resort? Also, if anyone has picked their menu options, do you know if the resort is flexible with the options? We want some options from Menu 1 and some options from Menu 2 if possible.
  14. Super quick question. I am having my ceremony on the Beach. Does anyone know that name of the Beach? I'm trying to order my invites tonight and I would like to put the name of the Beach on there. Thanks!! Kate
  15. I am using this picture as my inspiration for my simple centerpieces:
  16. This is great! I'm coo-coo for mustaches, so i loved your key chains and favors. Are your bouquets satin? They look great. I tried to browse her page, but she is out on maternity leave. I'm going to try making my own bouquet from shells, like another bride on here is doing. I'm using this picture as my inspiration: Thanks again for your blog, it is and will be so helpful! i can't wait to read about your wedding that is coming up so quick! 17. I'm not sure when I'm ordering just yet. I also worry about the colors. I feel a little better that they are displayed on a white background, so I think that they will be pretty true to the pictures. Perhaps I should order them soon, so that if I don't like them, I have time to do a return/exchange! I'll keep you posted! Kate
  18. I haden't even thought of making my own bouquet. I only have 1 bridesmaid, maybe I could make hers too for alot cheaper than the resort! I'm going to look into this! Thanks! I found chair sashes, table overlays and runners at www.chaircoverfactory.com I have not purchased anythign yet, but i anticipate spending only $52 (plus shipping) for: 20 yellow-maze chair sashes 20 turq chair sashes 4 turq table runner 4 yellow toverlay (ALL ORGANZA) We are having 40 guests and I read that the table at the reception seat 10 people. I plan on doing a yellow table cloth with turq runner, or vice versa. Or maybe just a table runner on the resorts white table clothes (which would be cheaper than $52).
  19. I am also unable to download these due to being new on the firums. Ca someone email them to me? [email protected] many thanks!! 20. Thank you so much for this! I just emailed my TA to see if I can trade my cocktail hour for 20 extra people. Hopefully it'll work out, by my math, its about equal. Can you post pics of your "brooch bouquet"? I'm intrigued. Also, how else are you saving money, sch as, with your OOT bags? I'm bring stuff to make centerpieces, chair sashes and table overlays. I'm always looking for ways to save a little here and there. Thanks again, Kate

  22. Yes! We would love to see your spreadsheet! I've tried to make spread sheets but I feel like I'm missing things or I don't have full prices. Email: [email protected] And hopefully we can meet at the resort for a mimosa or something! Do you have all you plans, package, location for ceremony, etc picked out and booked? We have our locations for everything picked and that's about it.
