  1. Guys have to have sleeves, pants and shoes (it says sandal are ok....but my husband always wears slip ons to be safe) at Himitsu, Portofino and Bordeaux. I think it's suggested that women wear dresses. Shorts and flip flops (sleeves are still required for guys I think) are ok at Oceana, seaside grill, world cafe and el patio.
  2. 1. Its mostly call level liquor-There is absolute, stoli, 1800, jack 2. $55 per person-just for the wedding. $88 per person for the full. Provide Your WC the name of the guests and she will take care of it. We purchased 2 full day guests for 2 days for our best man and his wife and had no issues 3. 10. We had 10 at 2 tables and 9 at one table. Hope this helps:)
  3. Hey ladies, We are still here honeymooning, so when I get back to CA, I will write out something about our trip for sure. Long story short, everything was and is great. Our guests are thanking US for doing this. One snafoo-We did have ridiculous wind during our reception. They sky turned black. The staff assured us it wouldn't rain, but I looked around army guests and half of them had their sunglasses on because the sand was everywhere-in their eyes and food. We felt bad and couldnt bear to have our guests sit there like that, esp our older guests So we asked Jorge (Lorena's helper) what we could do. They moved ius to the Seasode Grill within minutes. So don't panic, they always have a back up plan ready for you. Whether it is what you envisioned or not, it will be top notch.
  4. We ended up using a debit card. We had our mtg with Lorena and paid for half that day and half the next day. I had poor communication the week before my wedding too, but I just kept myself organized with lots of spreadsheet and printed out every single thing I could (copy of wedding package, homeymoon package, emails, etc)and brought it with me. Just like everyone says, you are in good hands and they go over every detail with you when you arrive
  5. We are here now and they are saying it will be a storm watch. I will be writing a review soon, prob after I get home, but we had bad wind at our reception and asked to be moved in the middle of the 2nd course. They moved us to thes seaside grill in a flash. I was bummed for a minute but then realized it was better for our guests and we had already gotten the dances and everything our of the way
  6. 1. Yes. We brought zero items for our sand ceremony. They provided us with 2 beakers of sand- one natural, and one blue, which I was really surprised about. Then they left it in our room that night. We have a frame for it for when we get home. 2. We didn't bring anything, they provided us utensils that we do not keep. 3. When we met with Lorena, she gave us instructions on how to get our items pressed. It was simple and included in our package. 4 n/a 5. N/a
  7. This is true. We reminded our guests of this SO MANY TIMES before we all left and it was still a huge issue for some of our guests. I personally don't mind the dress code, but I get why other people do. Anyhow, just make sure you warn everyone so they are not caught off guard.
  8. We are boarding in 10 min!!! I'm so excited and I'm freaking out!!!! I can't wait to tell you all about our trip when we get back. Thanks again ladies for all your help and support.

  10. EEEEEEE! i'm so excited! thanks for covering all this! and how exciting to have been upgraded 2x, good for you guys!! Your review is pretty much what I have been picturing for me and my fiance and it's nice to know that it is all possible. Congratulations!!! Sidenote: does the salon charge for the trial?
  11. We are leaving in 5 days!!!!! This waiting is absolutely killing me lol. I'm so glad I can come on here and read everyone else's experiences though, it's been the biggest help!
  12. Awww, my fiance is going to have a hard enough time dealing with the pictures after the ceremony. I will have to coax him through it so that he won't want to end the session too soon! I'll just keep reminding him it will only be about 45 min out of our day, and then he can go drink all the beers in the world. hahaha needless to say, we will not bedoing a TTD session. i mentioned it to him and he didn't seem too keen on it. I wasn't set on having it, so i'm not too bummed about it Quote: Originally Posted by EmilyT anyone have trouble getting their finace's or husbands to do the TTD... my fiance has no desire to go and lay on the sand to get into the water with his clothes on but i really want to do it.. just curious if im alone here. i mean hes not one to take 100 pictures so i sort of understand but its nice to have no ??? lol

  14. Hi All, We are leaving in 1 week for our wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun. I've tried asking my WC about this but her responses are slow, even as we are so close Does anyone have any advice on what form of payment would be best to pay for our wedding. Personal Check or Travelers checks are our preferred methods, unless anyone has any other advise from their experience. Thanks so much!!
  15. Does anyone know if DRC take personal checks as form of payment for the wedding? I asked Lorena but she has not replied in a few days. If they don't i guess we will get travelers checks. It's tough though because all the invoices/bills she sends us says "estimated cost breakdown". We have to make sure we get enough in travelers checks to cover the wedding, obviously, but we don't know why the cost she is sending us is "estimated". It looks like taxes and gratuities are included in the appropriate spots. I've asked Lorena about this as well, but I'm still waiting to hear back from her. We just picked up some pesos from our local bank, but certainly not enough to cover the wedding lol If anyone who was recently married could shed some light, I'd really appreciate it.
  16. AH!!! so exciting. i leave in 9 days and i don't know what to do with myself! are you all finished with you planning? Maybe I'll run into you. We will be there 8/1-8/10

  19. If it turns out that she does not go, perhaps you could have an AHR when you guys return. Nothing big...maybe a bar-be-que sort of thing?
