Hello, I've been reading this long enough, i figured i might as well chime in, ask questions, share what info i have too. I am Kate of: Kip & Kate- Sat August 4th 2012. i can't wait to drink margs, mimosas, laugh, get tan and get married. We have a deposit down on our wedding package (the love package). The wedding, cocktail hour and reception will all be on the beach. Thats about it. We are working with Evangelina on the wedding. We were waiting for a quote for our group rate. We never got it so now we are working with a travel agent for that. She is attempting to streamline things with Evangelina for us as well. Like most of you, this is taking a while (days between emails), but i'm glad we went with a travel agent. It's nice to have someone coordinate all those things for you. We'll refer all of our guests' questions regarding travel arrangements to her as well which makes me doubley happy. So thats as far as i've gotten. not much info to share yet. I have a few questions for brides who have gotten married here (or future brides who have visited) & please forgive me if they've been answered already. There are 700+pages to this thread. I read about 50 of them and started getting stressed out. 1. Welcome dinner: We are hoping for 40people total (50 tops!). I'd like to do a welcome dinner for everyone (he just wants the bridal party and family). I've read a few reviews online. If at all possible, we'd like to not pay extra for this and just go to one of the restaurants at the resort. What are the (realistic) odds that we can arrange this. Should I relay this to my travel agent and have her sort it out? We just want a big group to go to dinner at one of the restaurants one night. 2. What kind of room did you have? The resort website doesn't have many pictures of the rooms. Of course i've stalked trip advisor and very other site and looked at room pictures but I don't know what room those guests were staying in. We want a ground floor room (he wants a honeymoon suite, i'm pretty indifferent. i want margaritas) in a centralized location. We went to a friend's wedding at Dream's Tulum and they pretty much had a room right in front of the main pool. It was great. we want something like that. Ocean View. any recommendations? 3 What are your thoughts on us having the ceremony, cocktail hour & reception on the beach? If i keep everything on the beach, what do you recommend i bring as decorations. I don't want to bring alot, but i'd rather bring 2 suitcaes full of stuff than pay an arm and a leg for some chair sashes! I look forward to stressing out and venting on here for the next 8 months. I'm very very thankful that for you all and that we have the resources to share such information with each other!
