  1. Welcome and congrats!! This forum is great and everyone has helped me out with all of my planning!! I'm getting married there 4-20-13
  2. Hi Ladies! I have a couple of more questions: Did any of you use paper lanterns at your reception? I am thinking of buying some to bring to hang at the reception at the CECO Terrace. Is there a charge for the resort to hang these? Did any of you use the cigar roller? We went to a wedding at the El Dorado Resort in Mexico and they had one, it was a hit! Does the resort make the menu cards for you? Does this cost $? Did any of you use a guitar soloist for you ceremony? If so, how much did it cost? I'm assuming the ceremony lasted roughly 15-20 min...? And if so, didyou use him for cocktail hour? Or, did you use a romantic trio? I have the Gold Package, but I'm really wanting a guitar soloist... Just curious how much this will cost.. Since I am bringing my friend to take pictures/video, will the resort deduct the cost of the photographer/cost of photos from the Gold Package? We are expecting about 70 people at our wedding... I'm thinking we need to add an extra hour onto our reception. Does anyone know how much this will cost,? We are planning on having a rehearsal dinner for 40 guests. I think it is crazy how they want to charg $22per/person. We do not have to have a private dinner. Does anyone know if they make any exceptions for this? For those who have done a civil/legal ceremony. When do they take your blood? I know we have to be in the country at least 3 days prior to our wedding date. Just curious, if they do this on site or if we leave the resort to do this. In the Gold Package, 4 boutenniers/corsages are included. This may be a dumb question but does this mean you get 4 of each? Sorry for all of the questions, any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!! -Monica
  3. Thank you SO much!!! Love your ideas!! I really appreciate you taking the time explaining everything to me! -Monica
  4. Thanks! Beautiful wedding!! Love everything about it! You looked stunning!!!! -monica
  5. Hey everyone, I am currently working on ideas for our OOT (out of town) bags for guests. I plan on doing plain paper bags with a cute tag attached. Does anyone know if the front desk will hand these out to the guests as they arrive? If not, then I guess I can hand them out at the "Welcome Reception" we are having. I'm curious as to what you ladies did or are planning on putting in your OOT bags? Any ideas would be appreciated! These are a few ideas of gifts I want to include: spf chapstick advil shout wipe magnet (either customized saying our names and date of wedding) or just a Mexico magnet Mexico postcard Welcome Letter mini tequila bottles (Patron)...can we bring this in from U.S.? Thanks ladies! -Monica
  6. Thanks, Ashley. Lleny just quoted me back with $25 for each vase. That seems so expensive! $10 sounds much better.....I can't wait to hear all about your wedding....3 more days!!!! Have fun and I hope it all goes smoothly! -Monica
  7. Hi Brides! I am getting married in about 5 months and I have a couple of questions. 1. Flowers: Do any of you have pics of your bouquets, bridesmaid bouquets, and centerpieces for reception? 2. Music: I am interested in a guitar soloist during the ceremony. Do you know how much this costs? I noticed in the Gold Package (which we purchased) it says we get Caribbean or Romantic Trio for an hour.....What if we just want a guitar soloist? I wonder if this costs extra or if it's included somehow....? 3. Centerpieces for tables: Would it be cheesy to have my bridesmaids (9 total) use their bouqets as centerpieces in a vase on each reception table? I'm just trying to save $ obviously by using flowers we already would have... 4. In the Wedding Package, it says that the groom gets a complimentary suite the night before the wedding (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY), have any of you had a problem with this?....just curious. Thanks in advance -Monica
  8. My fiance and I went at the beginning of March this year. The weather was perfect. It was a TINY bit chilly, but not enough to wear a sweater. And, it was only chilly if you were on the beach or dining outside at The Lobster House (which is close to beach). I was fine with sleeveless dresses.
  9. Hey everyone, Question: We are getting married next April and are inviting 250 people. We expect at least half to attend. I am in discussions with my travel agent as to whether or not to do a Group Room Block or just book a-la carte style? What did you all do for your wedding? Thanks! -Monica
  10. Mexican Fiesta is held right in front of the theater at Cafe Kafe. It is a lot of fun. The food is set up "buffet style" and there are guitar trios of men and women that go around to each table to sing to you while you eat. It was my favorite night at the resort when we went last month. It started I believe around 6?? and lasted until about 9/10ish (when the theater show started).
  11. The wedding on the beach is on the beach right about 50 yards in front of the wedding gazebo. It's a really wide space with a few palm trees. That's where I am getting married
  12. Congrats to you! I just got back Sunday from visiting EPM for the first time. We met with the wedding coordinator and saw all of the different venues for the ceremony and reception. You will NOT be dissappointed. The pictures on the website are right on. The WHOLE resort is breathtaking! Keep up with this blog and you will have a lot of help from all of these lovely brides/future brides. Don't be afraid to ask any questions! How many guests are you expecting?
  13. Hi Amanda, I'm not going to lie...I was worried about EPM also after hearing the negative things on this blog about the wedding coordinators. But, my fiance and I JUST got back Sunday evening from our first visit to EPM and we HAD A BLAST! We met with Lleny (one of the wedding coordinators) and 2 other young ladies. They were all very nice and welcoming. They answered all of our questions and never said "no" to anything. If there was something they weren't sure of, they ensured us that they will check on it for us and get back to us ASAP. We are expecting about 100 guests. All of the ceremony locations were absolutely STUNNING. The food, service, gardens, pool, beach, EVERYTHING was picture perfect. If you are maybe considering another place like Le blanc spa or the royal, you should also check out El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya. I went to a wedding there last year and it was absolutely beautiful. My friend (the bride) was very pleased. Good luck and Happy planning! -Monica
  14. Hi ladies! My fiance and I leave this Thursday for EPM to do a "site inspection." We are also meeting with Nayeli on Friday morning to discuss our upcoming wedding. We are so excited!! This is our 1st trip to EPM. I will be sure to post pics as soon as we get back! We were hoping that there would be a wedding going on while we were there, but unfortunately there aren't any!! BOO! We come back Sunday and I believe she said there was a wedding that Monday. Oh well!! -Monica
  15. My fiance and I had our engagement party this past Saturday. It was a Mexican theme! We had a GREAT time!! Our bridal party made some cute little Mexican mustaches! I wanted to share some pics with y'all!
  16. I'm following all of y'all's Pinterest as well. Y'all have some cute ideas!!! Here is the link to my Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/momo_arcuri/ -monica
  17. Wow, thanks for the fast replies! I'm so excited about visiting the resort. I am getting nervous now that I know the largest wedding they've hosted was 90 people. I am wondering where the location for my reception would be... I might have to consider cutting down my invites. I guess I'll figure most of that out when I go in March to meet with them. Thanks again everyone for all of the advice -Monica
  18. Hi everyone, I'm very new to this forum and had some questions! I am getting married at EPM on April 20, 2013. My fiance and I are traveling down to the resort this March. I have spoken with the wedding coordiantor, Gustavo Vasquez about meeting with him to discuss our wedding and hopefully we can pick some things out, such as food, reception venue, etc. Have any of you had a large wedding there at the resort? We are inviting 250 and expect at least 120 to come. Also, I am trying to find some pictures and/or videos of weddings. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thanks in advance! -Monica
  19. Where can I find pics of weddings at Excellence Playa Mujeres? I am getting married there April 2013. Thanks!
