  1. Also, for those who were already married - what flavor cake did you have, and was it good? For those who had the buffet - which did you choose and how was it? Thanks!!
  2. Hi! We are having the ceremony at 6pm on the beach, then cocktails on Cielo Terrace and the reception on the beach. We are expecting close to 50 ppl. What about you?? What days are you staying (we are Apr 24 to May 1). We will have to find each other!
  3. Hi Katelyn, You are the day after me - so exciting!! What days are you staying at the resort? We are there Apr 24 to May 1 - we will have to find each other! Just look for the rowdy bunch of Canadians haha - we have close to 50 ppl coming, and most are friends. We are planning to do ceremony on the beach, cocktails at cielo terrace and dinner/reception on the beach. I am bringing my own photographers as well, but using the resort videographer from Ocean Studios. I am bringing most of my own decor too as they really didn't have a lot of options and I am a wedding planner and control freak haha. How are you able to use Doremixx - I was told they are super strict on not allowing outside vendors.. I really want to use a different florist as Zuniga's prices are insanely high and it doesnt look like they do the greatest job..
  4. Hi Lorraine! I am actually getting married April 27 now - we booked the 21 and then the resort sold out a few days after and none of our guests could book!! So we moved it back a week.. I will be there from Apr 24 to May 1 - when do you leave? Maybe our paths will meet! Where are you having your ceremony and reception?
  5. Amanda - I have read a lot of posts from other brides saying they did a brunch at the Italian restaurant (and that it was very good!).. normally the Italian and Asian resto's are only open for dinner, so I guess they will let you do something private in them during the day diracornejo - I am getting married April 27 - it was originally April 21 and then the resort sold out a few days later and no one could book that wasn't in our group booking so we switched it to a week later. Are you getting married the same day?!
  6. Hi! Do you have any pictures of your table decor? I am also thinking of buying gold mercury glass on luna bazaar and I would love to see some of your pics. Was it hard to bring it down with you? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi addy, If you have 75 room nights or more booked (which you definitely will with 75 guests) you will get unlimited private events which means the reception food will be free. You will only have to pay for decor/dj, etc.
  8. Hi Ladies! I just booked my wedding for April 21 2013 - what a relief! But one of the woman at the resort told me I can't pick my ceremony or reception locations until I'm at the resort! I don't think that can be true?! Help!! She wrote: Please note, locations are not confirmed until you arrive to the resort and finalize checking your details with your onsite wedding coordinator. This will be according the number of guest you will have.
  9. Hi Ladies, I just booked my wedding at Playacar Palace for Sunday April 21, 2013 - such a relief! One of the woman at the resort is telling me I cannot book my ceremony and reception locations until I arrive at the resort! Is this true?! She wrote: Please note, locations are not confirmed until you arrive to the resort and finalize checking your details with your onsite wedding coordinator. 10. Hi Ladies! I see this forum has become a bit inactive - I am highly considering Now Jade for my wedding in April 2013. A bunch of you ladies would have already been married by now - any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
  11. Hi ladies! I am new to this board - I originally wanted to get married at Dreams Los Cabos and have been waiting for 8 months for the price to drop, but in the end it is just too expensive and I feel too guilty asking my guests to pay 2k a person.. after much search I think Azul Sensatori is the place for me! I plan to get married in April 2013.. am looking into rates/ availability now. Need to book ASAP. I think I spent 10 hours yesterday reading posts on this board lol! It is sooo helpful so thank you all!! I wanted to ask those who were already married here - is the sky terrace really windy since you are elevated? Would appreciate the feedback. Thanks so much!
  12. You could get married legally after your DW when you are home - if you don't want to take away from it by getting married before you go. You also need blood tests taken if you are getting legally married in Mexico, and as mentioned above the legal marriage is more expensive and only said in Spanish with a translator. I would consider waiting to be legally married when you are home - cheaper, easier, and won't take away from your wedding day!
  13. Hi Jana, I would not advise you to ship anything - take extra suitcases on the plane with you! I have read some reviews on here - horror stories - about shipping things and it never showing up. One bride had shipped her flower girl basket and a lot of other important things and it just never showed up. I would highly recommend you bring extra suitcases and keep everything on the plane with you! Then you won't have to worry
  14. Thanks so much for the info. We are going to have at least 50-60 guests, and after much debate we are going with Dreams. It was way too expensive at SDML - we have a lot of friends coming who are heavy drinkers! It looks sooo gorgeous there, I am sure your wedding will be amazing
  15. Hi Galen, I am currently debating between Dreams and Sunset da Mona Lisa. How many people are attending your wedding? My issue is the bar prices - the per hour prices seem outrageous to me! Are you doing it based on consumption or open bar hourly? Any and all info will help. Thanks!
  16. Hey McLecker - did you ever find out about this? I also want to bring a photographer down with me.. but mine is coming from Toronto and planning on staying for almost the week - if he is a guest will there be no extra charge? Thanks!!
  17. I actually stayed at Dreams in Dec 2007.. if you walk about 20 minutes down the beach to the Hilton Hotel the beach is swimmable there - still a lot of waves and strong water so if you aren't a good swimmer/ young/ old etc you need to be careful. But the beach at the Hilton is safe to go in.
  18. Hi! I just booked my date with dreams for April 10, 2013. LeAnn will you be there when I am? We plan to arrive on April 6. Are you booking the rooms directly with the hotel and then paying for your flight seperately? I am coming from Toronto and am having trouble getting pricing this early out.. will have to wait on that I guess. I've done quite a bit of research so far lol. Good luck with the planning This site has been incredibly helpful to me so far!
  19. Hi Ladies! I am just in the beginning stages of planning. Does anyone know if you can string lanterns over the Cascade Terrace? I've seen it in many pictures of Oceana Terrace but not in Cascade. Thanks!!
  20. Hi again! I am not planning on getting married until 2013.. but I am one of those plan way in advance kind of people lol! Do you mind me asking how much it is costing per person? The pricing I am currently getting is very high ($2000 per person)... I've been told it will probably come down a bit because I am looking so far in advance right now.. but I also know Nov is considered their off season and pricing can be lower. Did you use a travel agent? I am in Toronto but any help you can shed on that would be great.
  21. Hi McLecker, This is my first time posting on this site! I do have answers to some of your questions though, so I figured I would help out since this site has been super helpful to me so far! The packages that Dreams offers only include the offerings for up to 20 people. For dinner, each person over 20 is an additional charge. They have different levels of meals (silver, platinum, etc.) the cost is between $65-$85 extra per person depending which menu you choose. That cost is dinner only. There will be an additional cost for a bigger wedding cake, etc. I believe white linens are included in the price, but any coloured linens will be an additional charge. If you go on the Dreams website you can download their wedding package info, which shows the menu's extra costs, etc. I'm pretty sure that you will still have to pay the $95 resort fee on top of these extra costs - that fee is simply to let people into the resort to use the amenities and restaurants - it won't include their extra costs for the wedding dinner. Personally, I think it would be fair for your guests to have to pay that fee themselves - since you will be paying for the rest of the wedding. If you could afford it, it would be nice to cover it for them, but from the sounds of your huge guest list do what you gotta do to make your budget work! An FYI - for some reason on the dreams package it shows rental prices per hour (for napkins, chairs, etc.) Thats not the case.. don't know why it says that! Also, if you want Tiffany chairs (not the chairs with covers) those are an extra $8 per chair. They charge for a lot of extra's! Hope this helps!
