Hi Ladies, My fiance and I have been to Punta Cana twice but decided to go through a travel agent for our guests to book at our chosen resort. We picked the Majestic Elegance cause we didn't want anything too big and we wanted to be able to provide a couple of room options. I have heard nothing but great things about the resort and it has pretty consistent reviews on TripAdvisor. We were able to get some extra benefits through our travel agent, so I would definitely recommend going through one if you can as they can help with all the details and working with the resorts. It also helps easy some of the stress from your guests if they have questions about traveling and booking. We just sent out our Save the Dates and our guests received them yesterday! We are still a little over 10 months away, but it can't come soon enough! Communications are slow with Mayte right now, but I know she is really busy and my wedding is still far away. We have our date secured with a deposit so I guess the important thing is covered! Hoping to get a pre-invoice soon though!

Would you also be able to PM me? Mayte did tell me they were coming out with new 2012 pricing soon (I guess the brochure is from 2009 so it is outdated and she said it's been awhile since they updated). So I am curious to see if this is new pricing as well. Thanks! Kaylin

It took Mayte like a week to respond to me the first time and then she has been replying back to me every 5-7 days since. Just be patient, I am sure he gets a ton of inquiries but I haven't read anyone say that they haven't been able to get a response from her! I do know some girls have tried calling too, but I had no luck with that. Oh and I sent an email through the contact form and via email and she ended up responding to both on the same night, so one or te other is prob fine. Good luck!!

Hi Ladies! I am so glad I found this forum, it has already been so helpful and really put me at ease about things. I am planning my wedding a the Jellyfish for February 2013. I know it's still more than a year away, so I have a couple of questions since I have never done this before, and a lot of you have - How many months in advance did you send out the STDs and invitations for your destination wedding? I want to try and get an idea on who will come and also so I can get a quote! - Did you wait for a final count to get a quote from Mayte? - My fiance and I really want to provide open bar for our wedding guests for the whole night - especially because they are going to be spending a lot of money coming down for the week. We did think the open bar pricing was a little pricey per person, especially since are are anticipating 50-60 guests. Do any of you brides who had that many guests have any recommendations? I would say 1/2 of the guests are heavy drinkers and the other 1/2 won't have that many. - For the transportation - did they keep the bride and groom separate? I would really like to have the first time to see each other be when I walk down the aisle, but if that's not possible then I want to make plans to do pictures of the moment at the resort. - Does Mayte provide an officiant or do you have to go get one on your own?
