  1. @@Jessim9 the Barcelo resort has some packages that could work for your number of guests. totally check it out and they have some beautiful beach. I have a wedding there next year. Happy Planning!
  2. @@jordanj Nope, no time for STD, I would probably communicate with guests that you know for sure are coming, and send them information on booking the hotel. then letting them know invitation to follow. By the way 6 months is still plenty of time for planning a destination wedding. we have planned a wedding with 3 months in the past. focus on what had to be done. and enjoy the planning stage.
  3. @@Vjohana I would definitely contact the hotel, to get a better idea on costs. this will help you decide if its a perfect fit for you. Happy Planning!
  4. @Vjohana you have a very common question , lets dive into your answer, My advise since you want an all inclusive resort, first step identify the things that are a must have for you (such prices point, amenities, family friendly etc). Then get a travel agent. now you might want look for someone who specializes in destination wedding. the owner of this page is TA. ask them to give you hotels that have more benefits. The number of guests also pay a huge part in your wedding packages. some hotels will include certain for up 20 guests. All inclusive doesn't mean you get everything, as you have found out, but there a number of hotels that cover food, bar and rentals (chairs and tables) The following are not covered in the wedding packages. DJ photographer Flowers Decor Hair and make up PS: if you hire the above from outside, be aware the hotel will be charging an outside vendor fee. (which differs from hotel to hotel) Happy Planning!
  5. @@MarMig wedding planning doesn't have to drive you crazy, with all the support you will receive on here. prep one task at a time now to answer your question, you can also add "things to do in the riviera maya", are you planning on having a wedding website? I have also seen recently other brides they turn to create a facebook group with all information. about favors. bring them with you , to make sure they arrive at your hotel. Shipping is not the issue, but the issue is customs in mexico. To avoid surprises, I would ship them to Mexico. Happy Planning!
  6. @@lesloo is your heart set on Cabo? I am more familiar with off resort location in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. And we do have some hacienda styles that could work for you. Also $25k what does it include for you, is it just for the wedding day costs or for everything including flights?. how many guests are you looking to have? @@snswedding2016 is correct ,when you are doing an off resort wedding, you do want to make sure you have a local planner to guiding and supporting you. Happy Planning

  17. hey @@Jojaws, yes there is not much nightlife at fairmont, other options is you could organize going into playa del carmen for night life its about 15 min from fairmont. Happy Planning!
  18. yes they had their wedding off the resort. here is another option for you, Styling trio has their studio in the heard of playa del carmen, you could drive there with cap to avoid being charged the vendor fee. Happy Planning!
  19. @@SunyMel this depends on your selected hotels. I know in the past some of our clients had to pay a fee every-time the outside vendor stepped to the hotel. other resort will have you pay it just once. DO get in-touch with your resort coordinator and find out so you are clear on this. Happy Planning!
  20. Hey @@Jenessa, I would advice to get a wedding organizer on board, especially since you are planning from afar. They can source some good florist that could work with your budget. HappyPlanning!

  22. Goodness that is insane and tacky, just the thought of going through process of preparing the bill though. there is always a good explanation why someone was a no show. Bottom line you married your Mr or Mrs Right and that is all that matters. Thanks for sharing this @@calgarybride2015
  23. Communication You and your fiancé should sit down and talk through what you are envisioning for your wedding. This is the initial stages so play around with ideas, more so hear pay attention to what fiancé likes too. Also draw up your budget estimation. Get in touch with a professional, such as a wedding planner or travel agent, wedding consultant etc. Figure out this part with a professional help or someone with experience. You want to make sure you have a wedding planner or consultant who has knowledge, make sure you have a great connection /vibe with them, especially since you are going to be trusting them with such an important task. Ask them as many questions as you can. What destination and resort would work for you, make sure you point out your requirements you are looking for with a resort. E.g are you looking for a family friendly resort? An All-inclusive resort? Or a resort with tons of activities? Sandy beach. What group benefits you could find? Break down the wedding planning into mini tasks. Once you choose your destination and resort or private location, you want to decide between you and your fiancé, who is going to do what task. This is also the time to decide if your bridal party will be doing some DIY if necessary (delegate). Best result comes when you take care of 1 task at a time. Resort booking make sure you are 100%happy before signing any contract and have read all fine prints. Decide on wedding location, choose are you hosting your wedding at a resort or off-resort? Choose your photographer, choose a package that works with your budget and select enough hours DJ make sure you get some reviews, enough to get you comfortable. Décor and florist this part usually drags a bit but its ok, communicate what you are looking for and share pictures to help communication. Cake, best option is choose your design and flavors. Favors, draw up how much you would like to spend on this part don’t go overboard. Welcomes bags, same rule apply as favors. Any extra you may want (bridal party gifts if you choose) Inspiration board You and your fiancé will choose your theme, and colors, be sure to visit some your top wedding pages such Pinterest for inspiration this will help you, especially to communicate with your location virtually on your vision. To avoid confusion on tones/color scheme etc. Research is great, but make sure you do not overdo it, to avoid overwhelming yourself. Create a wedding website This is going to be the best way to communicate with your guests throughout your wedding planning. Make sure you include your travel agent´s information, to help your guests with any question in terms of accommodation etc. This will help you to only focus on your wedding planning. Between your life and work, what are the suitable times to do your wedding planning task? Do you have more free time in the morning? Or in the evening? That you could do some planning? If you prefer weekends, then set some free time over the weekends. Whatever you do not over plan. Months will go by quickly, well at least that is how you will feel, with a simple spreadsheet it could be a word doc /PowerPoint to tick off your task and keep track of payment. As much as is this all new to you, important factor is your day is going to be so special, in fact it will be more that you have imagined ! Take it all in and don’t forget to say “I do”. Happy Planning! Hugs Joyce http://www.dreamwedd.../Home_Page.html
  24. @@SunshineDreamKay I would definitely go with the term "Parents". It is straight to the point and your guests will receive the message crispy clear. Happy Planning
