  1. Hey melnryluvco, As wedding planner in the Riviera Maya, and just wanted to answer your question regarding an off resort reception. I have seen many brides choosing this option because some resorts have packages and when you have more people than what their package offers then you would have to pay extra. Many factor will influence this decision such: Do you want your reception to be private what decor and flower you prefer. Type of menu you choose. And feel free to ask us anything and we will be happy to help. Happy Planning! Joyce

  9. Hey MrsCripps, As a wedding planner here in the Riviera Maya and also have worked with Playacar Palace. What I know is that you can bring an outside photographer but there is a fee. just do the numbers and see what works for your budget. Depending on the number of guests you will have and with weather permitting I would suggest the beach area that comes with deck floor if you choose not to sink your feet in the sand. The pool area is surrounded by palm trees, this is good especially if you will not want to have your guests in the sand the entire night. the down side here is that the party will have to end earlier because its closer to the hotel rooms. The indoor option I love is the Terrace restaurant with a wine cellar and view to the beach. I know from the past was that they prefer using their preferred vendors. I must point out that flowers are not expensive here, but if you looking to cut out costs of coarse you can bring your own artificial arrangements. Hope this information was helpful. Feel to ask anything and we will be happy to help. Happy Planning Joyce

Or you can email us at [email protected] Happy Planning! Joyce
  11. Hey TheDivineMissC, Congrats on your engagement and choosing for a choosing Destination Wedding. As Wedding planner here in Playa Del Carmen and I must point out the El taj is a family friendly place and this beautiful location offers an excellent service and food. The beach area is called Indigo Beach club pretty busy area because is in the center, if you do not mind having tourist passing through during your ceremony then for sure you will be perfectly fine in having both the ceremony and reception there. As you may know they have the restaurant right on the beach and they are pretty flexible, you are allowed to bring in any vendor you prefer.. Usually when you are having a reception there, you are allowed to use their furniture including lounges, white linen and some of their illumination. They have a wide range of menus to select from. If you are interested in having more information please feel free to PM or email me at [email protected] Happy Planning! Joyce
