  1. @@smfahey I am planning a wedding for May 2017 , Did you have any questions? I am also having a wedding there next month. let me know I am happy to help.
  2. @@sassldiva I have to agree with the other ladies. TA, for starters the owners of this page are travel agent. So first thing is to narrow down your vision to the T.. Then go to a TA, they are sure going to help you narrow your options. As for the wedding packages so much goes into it all, just because its an inclusive it doesn't mean that everything is included. Things like decor will differ from bride to bride. and also the price like $55 usd did you check if it includes the taxes and services? I know the packages may look as too much information without breakdown, but when you ask question to the resort coordinators they should be able to help you get a better idea. Happy Planning! Joyce
  3. @@AdamnJenn17 I have been to 1:1 calls for Destination bide based on requests Feel free to PM us or email , we will be happy to help Happy Planning
  4. @JRodz@JRodz I advice that you create your pin board with some of your inspirations and forward you to your resort coordinator to have a better sense on costs. One thing for sure. please make sure you use local flowers plus flowers that are in season to avoid higher costs. Happy Planning Joyce
  5. @@vpetion this question comes up a lot actually, I am an African women and highly recommend https://www.facebook.com/stylingtrio/?fref=tsin fact what you can do is requests that they send you pictures of all their work they did on African American Bride. you can also choose to do a trial once you get here. 6. @@happyfiance being that April and May are the most popular for weddings, I can only imagine the resorts wedding coordinators are out all day coordinating weddings. I would definitely email them again. sometimes emails just sits in the spam folder
  7. @@nkavanaugh you definitely want to consider having a second photographer. almost all professional photographers would recommend you go with a second shooter. this gives you a piece of mind, knowing one of them is with you and the other is with your groom. Happy Wedding I am sure you will have tons of fun.
  8. @@smfahey thats how it should be, feeling the excitement!! enjoy every moment of it
  9. @goldammerpayne you dont necessarily have to opt for Xplor, there are tons of options for you here with both snorkeling and zip-lining. I would look at local tour guides. I am sure they can give more options to choose from. here one you can email them to find out options they offer you. then take it from there. http://www.prehispanicdestinations.com/# Happy Planning!

  12. @@LeanneP I am sending you a truck full of virtual hugs, as you can tell its quite a common thing. Destination Weddings will show you true colors of your family and friends. As much as it comes as a shock. you just have to keep your head up high and make sure you see the bigger picture. Those who matter will be there no matter. and bottom line you will marry your best friend. Enjoy every step of planning! Joyce
  13. @@smfahey you have selected a Great hotel, and its only normal to feel nervous and stressed! About your hotel coordinator taking forever , this is quite common with the resort. because their policy to respond is 72 hours. Make no mistake your wedding is just as important. Please bear in mind they are outside daily coordinating weddings, and only have short time frame to respond. I can assure you, as the months passes by you will start to see movements. I have wedding at Barcelo this June, and so far my clients are happy. the have selected the mint breeze package and I using the resort vendors. Happy Planning! Joyce
  14. @@Bmitch829 , another options is the PAradisus playadelcarmen, because they have this beautiful deck overlooking the ocean. family friendly. check out the wedding. https://dreamweddingsrivieramayablogdotcom.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/lori-and-rodney-paradisus-resort-riviera-maya-mexico/ or the Beach palace cancun. 20. @@karinaL have you looked at Barcelo and Paradisus playa delcarmen? Are you working with a Travel Agent? Also check out the video with some tips. Happy Planning! Joyce
  21. @@Camz Congrats on your engagement, and for choosing mexico as your location. This is a great question. Here is my advice, the big difference is when you hire a wedding planner they work for you and would negotiate vendor prices, oversees everything of your wedding through out the planning process to the wedding day. become your eyes and ears until you get to your destination location. Resort coordinator, they work for the resort. If you have plenty of time and patient you will be fine working with them. Some resort would have a different doing doing the planning part with. Then around the 3 month mark to your wedding you would be put in touch with the resort coordinator. however there is only so little they can do it terms of prices. etc because its not easy to negotiate the resort packages. I have found that brides who are type A , need a planner and they still use the resort coordinator. Hope this is helps and happy Planning! Joyce
  22. @@GloriaEvans congrats on choosing a Destination Wedding, Have you watched this video, hope its helpful Happy Planning! Joyce
  23. @@itscaramel congrats on your engagement, usually the walk would start from where your guests can see you. if you are coming out of the car in the parking lot no-one can see you then. hope this helps. Happy Planning! Joyce
  24. @@melissa22878 I would advise to go with with 4pm , followed by the photoshoot the the dinner . the sun is quite bright at 11am . as @@Moments That Matter mentions. Happy Planning!
