On the other hand, i want ZERO stress and one less thing to think about! so a DJ would be nice. Has anyone worked with DJ Mannia? Did you tell him all the songs you wanted to hear? Does he play during dinner? Does he announce things well *first dance, cake cutting etc.)? thanks in advance!!!!! Lisa soon to be Munn Hello LeeseMaster, As a wedding planner in the Riviera Maya, my advice is usually when you are having a destination wedding please give your guests a DJ to party the night away, especially if you know your guests love to be on the dance floor. You can use your ipod for a rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner. DJ mannia is quite good and yes the do make all the important announcements just like any other DJ in the area. and they usually play during dinner as well. You can send them your playlist or send it to your wedding coordinator to forward to them. reasonable hours for DJ is 4 to 5 hours., if the hotel only offers you 3hours you can always requests an hour extra. Hope this was helpful and feel free to ask us anything and we will be happy to help! Happy Planning! Joyce

There is a group of non-inclusive hotels, Condo Hotels Playa del Carmen, that we are using as our accommodations. There are 4 different hotel choices within the group, and all all within 2 blocks of each other at different price points. Because we are off-season, the rates are incredibly great, and it's a 4 star hotel on Trip Advisor. All the 4 hotels use the same beach club, at one of the properties, El Taj, so your guests will all be hanging out together. These condo hotels have 1 to 3 bedroom options, all with full kitchens. We're getting a penthouse with a big BBQ and jacuzzi, so we can host a wedding rehearsal/reception up there the night prior and have a grill out with all our friends. The associated reception venue is Wicky's Beach Club, which is just 2 blocks down the street from the hotels. They have great food reviews. Ceremony is on the beach, and then reception is right there at the beach club. There's a coordinator, Linda Burchett, through Wicky's that handles both the accommodations and the wedding for you. We didn't want to do an all-inclusive as we felt they may be very expensive for some of our guests. We also wanted them to feel free to explore the town of Playa and not feel like they were spending unused money if they ate out on the town. We also liked being in town and having it walkable, so people didn't have to rent cars. Unfortunately we weren't able to do a site inspection before booking, so we're just rolling the dice, but so far we feel really happy with our decision. I will make sure to do an update following our wedding with reviews of all the vendors and venues we chose. Congratulations and best wishes! As a wedding planner in the Riviera Maya, We have noticed most brides choose this option a lot to give their guests the flexibility, and to explore the area. Most importantly they get to personalize their wedding. Riviera Maya has a lot offer for various budgets. Feel free to ask us for more information or for advice and we will be happy to help. Happy Planning! Joyce

I have been speaking with the Grand Coral Beach Club, Blue Venado, Wicky's and Banyan Tree. They have been wonderful. I am wondering if there are any other places out there that can host a larger party. Most of the other hotels can accommodate 100- 150. We are looking for a hotel that is NOT all inclusive, on the beach, and with lots of great activities for our guests to do while we are there for the weekend. Thank you for your help!! Hello sconrad425, As a wedding planner in the Riviera Maya, I am happy to tell you that Playa del carmen offers quite lots of option for large groups, my suggestion is why not try rent out a private villa for a day to host your wedding. Feel free to ask for advice or anymore information and we will be happy to help. Being from the UK the last thing i want to be doing is chasing around my bank from abroad to get the money sorted. Past brides i would love to hear your input on how you went about it. We are getting married in Cancun then going on the Las Vegas afterwards and im just stressing out about having to take so much money with us to cover everything. i know everything should be ok but you always hear these horror stories that peoples rooms/safes have been broken into etc Anyway hope you are all well, any comments are more than welcome. Mark & Elaine Mark82, Hello Elaine, As a wedding planner in the Riviera maya, We are also agreeing with everyone else advice. We advice you to maybe choose to pay your final payments via PayPal,obviously this method would work when your vendors also use Paypal. We have found that this method has been stress free. Feel to ask us for advice and we will be happy to help. Happy Planning! Joyce

I actually replied to your PM. its about 30 min from the chapel to the villa. Playacar phace1 does not permit reception on the beach regardless of the time. Joyce!

I also would have to accommodate at least 20 guest and they are on a budget as well as I am. Is it possible to have a reception on the beach in playacar fase 1 in front of the beach house that I will be renting? Hello dp21. Yes Villa Weddings have been so trendy lately because it fun stress free and relaxed plus you can have all your guests stay with you at a villa and make it a super fun week for everyone. to answer your question its a 25 min drive from Playa del carmen to puerto adventures. Its not permitted to have a reception on the beach in playacar phase1. just the ceremony and then have the reception at the villa for sure. Here is a video of a wedding we coordinated at a villa and you can keep the party going as long as you choose. http://mikecantarellfilms.com/playadelsecreto/carolyn_jack/ As feel free to ask us anything or email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help. Or just simply with candles by using different sizes and heights of the candle holders. Maybe loose flowers, and you can bring the marson jars or bottles as seen on the below image. Lindsay Hello Ibatts, As a wedding coordinator in the Riviera Maya, I would also suggests the best option for you would be renting out a location/ villa that will allow you to work with a caterer. Some villa do allow you to just rent out a full day to host your wedding only without staying there. Best part is that you will have a privacy since most of the villas are secluded. We do know some really excellence Caterers in the Area and that can cater for your need. 18. Hello SimplyMV, If you are choosing to have a symbolic ceremony do remember that there are other options such as having a closer family friend/member perform the ceremony rather than getting a minister. Feel free to reach out should you need more information/ advice! Happy Planning Joyce.
