Hi Jessie, Thanks for the advice! Yes, the rate to deliver per room is still at $4/bag which is unreal! So we'll be doing as you said- meeting guests as they arrive in the lobby to hand out and welcome =) And I agree it is a nice gesture to do that instead of spending those few hours on the beach =) thanks!!

Hi there! Thanks so much for helping me out on this! It seems you have similar items to set up as we do .BTW are you working w/ Amanda? I sent her a picture of the drink table seating cards and she said another bride just sent the same thing- that would be so ironic! LOL I completely agree with you about Azul's charges- we just couldn't justify wasting so much money. One example was the floating candles for the pool area- Lomas wanted to charge $75 for 4 of them! I found even nicer ones online, a pack of 48 [including candles/holders] for $49.99! Ugh, no way was I throwing away hundreds of dollars!! Thanks for the help =)

Thank you so much for the help on this! We have been given so many different answers and it's frustrating b/c we are trying to figure out a budget! My WC told me it's $7 a bag to deliver OOT to guests' rooms! I have asked for the WC to confirm there is only one fee, and thanks for letting me know that the WC can't tell me final price. At least if we know it's only one fee for everything to be set up, we can somewhat figure out how much money to bring for this. We're expecting 100 guests perhaps a few more/less, so we just don't want to get down there and they throw an absurd fee at us! I'm hoping to get all the facts straight so we don't get shocked upon arrival LOL Thanks again!!!

Hi ladies! Hope you're all having a fabulous day! So, I'm hoping some of our newlyweds and soon to be brides can help me with a question I can't seem to get an answer to! I've asked my WC a few times about their "set up fee" and she said it can range from $20 to $250. Now, we plan on doing mostly everything [decorations, centerpieces, all the stationery, & OOT bags] and bringing it down with us. I CANNOT justify wasting so much money that Lomas wants to charge on some things, let alone you wouldn't believe how much we're already planning on spending for this wedding. Anyways, she won't give me a straight answer- is this "set up fee" a fee for everything to be set up on the wedding day, or are they going to hit us with 50 fees all at $200 each set u?!?! That would be a major unexpected headache and I am very displeased already with the lack of response I'm getting from WC. Hope someone can steer me in the right direction, before I have a nervous breakdown LOL [as much fun as this planning is, who knew it would be such hard work with so many twists & turns!] Thanks!!

Who gets flowers at the ceremony?
JennyBenz replied to JennyBenz's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
That's one thing I'm wondering about- I just sent in the contract for flowers and we have all the guys getting bout's, but we're leaning towards them just wearing button-downs as well.... Maybe I'll have my FI do a test with a cheapy flower I buy and see how it looks w/ a button down. -
Allie that bouquet is beautiful!!! I decided to go with Angel's Accents they have rave reviews! I'm going with orchids in my bouquet, in purple & fuchsia. And the BM will have a mix of calla lilies, orchids, and other flowers in fuchsia, purple, & orange. The groomsmen will have an orange calla lily. I'm so excited, I just placed my order so I won't see them until April, which makes me crazy- I wish I could have them already! This was definitely the best chioce we made doing the real touch. I'd love to come home with my wedding flowers =) Here are some of my inspiration pictures [not correct colors] but just to give you an idea of Angelyn's work. I left her to figure out how the bouquets would look best =) Here is the bouquet I loved for my BM! Some orchids will be included in here & it'll be modified a bit. [in orange, fuchsia, & purple] all rights reserved to Angel's Accents =) AngelsAccents.com Here is what I'm doing for my bouquet [in purple & fucshia]...

Hey there! That's exactly why I went with artificial flowers- there wasn't a single bouquet I liked from the choices the resort gave us! I think it all depends on what kind of wedding you're planning on- if you're more of a nontraditional easy to please bride, go for the single rose! Or if you want the standard do the bouquets. The money adds up quickly, so depends on your budget as well =) It's your wedding day, so do whatever you want to do- no one will tell you it's right or wrong. Hope that helpes!

Who gets flowers at the ceremony?
JennyBenz replied to JennyBenz's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Thanks so much for all your input, ladies! This really helped me when discussing with my FI. We are going with bridal party, parents, and godparents. If we go to aunts & uncles, it will be a TON extra. =) -
Hi Chelsey, It depends on what kind of wedding you're planning. We went with the gold package mainly b/c of all the great services inlcuded: Bridal hair style, judge fee, all the legal stuff included [bloodwork, translation of docs], and my personal fav's- breakfast in bed, decorated room night of wedding, moonlight massage, beach dinner, and so much more! We're going to be there two weeks, so we took advantage of all these items included & went with the gold package. But, if you're planning a smaller wedding and don't need all those additional services, stick with the silver package. Take a look on their website and you can see the difference in packages & what will best suit you =)

Hi there!! Welcome to the forum =) I also had this same dilemma! I went with my FI down there to check them all out back in April. Here's a breakdown of the difference between the hotels: Azul Fives: We stayed here, and the accomodations are top notch! They upgraded us to a penthouse suite with it's own private roofdeck with jacuzzi, beds, and even a BBQ! It's a very small resort, narrow but long. It's a very boutique-like setting, but there were tons of families there! There are two pools and lots of activities for kids & adults. The restaurants were all superb, the best all inclusive food we've EVER had! But, our downside was the beach. Don't plan on swimming infront of the resort, it's covered in coral & rocks. VERY rocky, you have to walk down a few minutes to be able to jump in. We also got to see a wedding go on while we there, it was on the beach. It was in the middle of everyone and right infront of the infinity pool . So as long as you're OK with having other guests nearby or in the pool watching, this shouldn't be a problem. Also, this is the farthest of the Azuls- it's about 45 min from airport. Azul Beach: Althuogh a tad bigger than the Fives, it's very similar to the concepts above. Beach was beautiful and larger, perfect for a wedding! We didn't get to see the rooms, as they were at full capacitity We actually wanted to have our wedding here, but there were no dates avaialable! In the same area as the Azul Beach and about 20 mintues from airport. Azul Sensatori: The largest of all the Azuls. Has sections specifically for kids & adults. The resort is huge, beautiful beach & rooms. Has some great "premium" section rooms with swim up jacuzzi suites & butler service! The food is pretty similar to all the other resorts. Lots to do during the day & night for kids & adults. We chose to have our wedding here b/c it can better serve our needs: 1- lots of room choices to better suit our guests' needs. 2- great food & service, and 3- a perfect location for our wedding. We wanted an area for our ceremony that was intimate & away from the other hotel guests. Hope this helps =)

Hi Chelsey!!! Welcome to the forum and CONGRATS on your engagement!! First and foremost, go in with an open mind. If you pick a specific date, you may be disappointed. Dates book very fast, so the sooner the better if you're hoping for a Feb/March wedding! Also, if you are finding yourself coming back to the Sensatori, it's for good reason =) This might be a good start if you see fit: The Karisma resorts offer a special for brides to be once monthly, and it's a very small fee for 3 nights to go down there and see the resorts for yourself! They'll give you a short presentation of packages & resorts and offer tours at any of their resorts for free! We stayed at the Fives and were sold on the Sensatori! [you can incur with resort about this special, it's called Bride's Dress Rehearsal Special] We also took a taxi [at our own expense] for one day while we were there and went to other locations such as Dreams & Now Jade. It just didn't equate to the Azul resorts. For us, everything we could have asked for was AS! It accomodates all genres of guests, from the babies to elders! The "gourmet-inclusive" food at all of their resorts is beyond any all inclusive food we've ever had! The service is impeccable, and every single worker from the maids to bartenders are the friendliest people we've had the pleasure of meeting! You won't be dissapointed. May I recommend also researching the reviews posted on here from past brides and see what they say! Rates vary depending on the time of year & category of rooms you book. All the details of the wedding are handled between you and a coordinator in Miami, so there's no language barrier I think you'll be very happy booking at Sensatori! Also, when you're ready to book or want to start working with an agency for rooms & rates, I recommend using a "Gourmet-Inclusive" Agent. You get some great perks [such as free massage, cocktail party, or moonlight dinner] and excellent rates! The incentives are great =) I am using Beach Bum Vacations and they exceeded every expectation I had thus far! Hope this helps, feel free to private message me if you wish to discuss further =) Good luck on your planning and keep us posted!!! Can you guys tell me what made you want to choose Sensatori? are you happy with the decision ? are there other resorts in the area that you wish you had looked into a bit more? If i go ahead and decide on Sensatori, how far out do I have to book the wedding? is a late February/ early March wedding do-able from right now do you think? Thanks so much for your input- this does make me feel a bit better! But, I guess it's my mentality, I'm a native NY'er and I like things done right away & everything is ASAP lol So I guess either I have to be OK with it or change WC. I'll see how it goes thanks =) Quote: Originally Posted by tkuzma Hey Jenny, I hear you, and I don't know if this is going to make you feel better, but I have Amanda as one of my WCs as well and it usually takes 7-10 days for me to get a response (same thing for my 2nd WC as well). I was anxious about it in the beginning, but I've let it go now. I try to stack all my questions and number them when I do email my WC's. The nice thing about this forum is that it answers some of my questions that I don't have to wait a response from the WC for!

I really think it comes down to what you want, it's your wedding after all! But, i feel like if I do flowers for the wedding party [which I'll definitely be doing] I should extend it to others. I just don't know LOL So many what-ifs in the small details =) -
Hey ladies! So my WC has gotten to me, and I hope you all don't mind me venting a bit So I've been working with WC Amanda from the Miami office and I know I'm still 11 months from our wedding- But is that a reason to take SO long to respond? Now, I was well aware going into this that I have to be patient in getting responses, and I think I've been fair. BUT, for the simplest question or two I have, she took almost 10 days to answer me! I have a slew of questions to ask her, but I feel if I send it to her a few at a time, it'll take me easily a month to have all the answers I need. Are you all experiencing this? Any suggestions? I know I could try calling, but when it comes to numbers & fees I want that all in writing so in case they try to pull a fast one, I have proof. The final straw: One question I had asked her which was very important to have an answer to ASAP b/c I couldn't book my photographer without it- She took more than a week again to answer! [i even stressed how important it was and resent the email 3 times] I almost lost out on our photographer & I was furious. Sorry for venting ladies, hope you understand, my apologies- just had to let it out! [My fiance listens, but his reply is "stop worrying so much" LOL]

Hi ladies! So I'm looking into booking a florist ASAP. When I submitted the quote form, I realized there were SO many questions that I did not have the answers to! I know the standard "who gets flowers" regarding the wedding party and parents. So, what about the other important people in our family that aren't a part of our party? I could really use some advice here, b/c I don't know what the etiquette would be. I read some websites that all conflict with one another. Here are the people I'm considering: Definites: -Wedding Party -Me & my Groom -Fathers & Mothers -Flower Girl, Ring Bearer Maybe: -Aunts/Uncles -Brothers, Sister-in-Law -Cousins that we're very close with [their daughter is our flower girl/goddaughter] -Godparents -Officiant Thanks for your help!!

Hi Kel!! I haven't tried to print on these tags yet. But in general, I sometimes run into problems with printing from templates. Make sure your margins are set according to the template in case it didn't adjust automatically. Your best bet is just to tweak and print on plain paper and hold up to the light with tags behind so you can see how to adjust them. I'll let you know how it goes when I start working on them! Sorry to hear you couldn't get rebates on everyhting, I only bought one package to test first!
