  1. This is a great idea, love the luminaries! I've never seen anything like this before! I wonder how easy it would be to travel with these... are they glass or just paper wrapped around a candle?
  2. Hey Elaine!! WOW! You really are right around the corner =) What a small world indeed!!! I really would love to book her but FI says it's just too much, & although we have a pretty good budget, we would have to cut back elsewhere. Also, I'm seeing a few different responses regarding the outside vendor policy. Do you have to book 1 or 3 nights for outside vendor, in order to waive the $800 fee? I think even if it's 3 nights, it's still cheaper than $800- Lomas is CRAZY expensive =[ But, i guess that's how they get you LOL
  3. This is a great idea for a forum post! All the vendors who posted on here thus far are truly amazing at giving great advice! The vendors of everyone on this website really know all there is to know about DW =)
  4. This is all truly amazing!! You did all of these projects by yourself, and they all look professionally done! Great job, what a beautiful bride you made! Congratulations
  5. Hi Ladies! I'm glad I read some posts here about the menus options. I didn't know our guests had to make their selections prior to being there for the dinner! Is this how it works for all options, including private functions? And how many options do you get to choose from when you asks guests to select? They have some amazing options, I hope I can offer a few =)
  6. Hi Elaine!! Great to see a fellow NY'er as well =) I'm in Queens, Middle Village to be exact- so not too far from you at all! Oh man, I thought if you booked a night for the outside vendor, that would be fine. Now I see how the hotel gets you with the $800 fee, but I think it still might be a bit cheaper to book 3 nights for the photographer/DJ. As much as I love Elizabeth Medina, my FI thinks she's a bit expensive. He seems not to understand that if we were getting married here, it would be WAY more than $5-6K but "we're not having it here" LOL So I'm hoping to persuade him! I wish we could use the free rooms for the vendors, that would be great, but we were thinking of offering them to our parents. I'll see what happens when we know for sure who to book =) Thanks for the help!!!
  7. I LOVE the boudoir album!! My FI is a major car buff so I think I'm going to rent him a Lamborghini for the weekend when we return from our wedding =)
  8. The one you are holding is way better than the original great job!
  9. These pictures are all stunning!!! Also giving me some great ideas for photos =)
  10. That's amazing congratulations!!! You will love Kleinfeld's [if you're shooting at NYC location] it's beautiful!! Just don't let them pressure you off camera to buy anything! They tend to be very pushy and be sure to speak up if you're not happy with what they're pulling for you =)
  11. That's a great point! I'm starting to worry about how we're going to get everything down there in one piece
  12. Thanks for letting me know, I have never heard of one these parties before this post! =)
  13. Thanks so much Elaine!! I have heard so many good things about Doremixx! I'm very skeptical of booking the Lomas DJ's b/c I can't find any information on them at all, so that's probably why everyone books outside vendors! So if I book a room for them for the night we don't have to pay the outside vendor fee? In that case, if it's only $150 pp it definitely beats spendng $800 that's completely useless. Ohh I love Elizabeth Medina's work!! I want to check out her rates, but I'm sure any photographer down there will be a TON cheaper than what we would pay in New York LOL Thanks for your help =)
  14. I love these! After just finishing my STD boarding passes, I will definitely have the girls come over for wine night and help me put these together =)
  15. I think it's a great idea to put a "tentative" RSVP on the STD's. We put the link to our website on our STD's with a note asking to "help us in planning appropriately and leave a tentative RSVP until invitations go out. Although the resort doesn't need final counts until the last 2 months or so, we wanted an idea b/c there's lots of planning & buying to do until the wedding! This helps tremendously because it also cuts cost on total invitations we'll have to purchase. If guests reply that they're definitely not going, we won't send an invite b/c we already know they can't make it. The STD i felt was a great way to include everyone so they know we thought of them and then invitations only to hose who are definitely going.
