Hi Mandy! I've been wondering the same thing! I have heard many brides asking their bridal party & family to help in bringing some of the decorations down in their bags. This saves you the hassle of traveling with 20 bags and also a good idea for customs reasons [need receipts for everything you bring down there and can't exceed $300 I believe] I also heard shipping down to Mexico is quite expensive and you never have a guarantee that it will be there in time [stuck in customs, gets lost, resort "misplaces" it]. I'm sure new brides on here can give some helpful advice with their past experiences =)

Hi Dana!! I LOVE your white wedding idea, and the touch of coral! Do you definitely need a 2nd color to complement the coral? Tons of colors can go beautifully with coral, but you may not even need it. Seems like you're going for a simple & elegant color scheme, so it may be perfect as is! But if you have to have two colors how about some of these ideas: 1) Go with a brighter color to pop the coral like a turquoise [very popular combo for DW] 2) Stay with the same color family and do shades of coral [i.e. orange, tangerine] 3) Go neutral [this is what I'm doing] Your pop of color is the coral, so add other complementing colors in lighter shades so it doesn't clash or take away from your main color! Try blushes & nudes. Hope this helps =) Can't wait to see more of your ideas! And BTW your dress is stunning!!!

These are amazing! Great ideas, fun wording, really beautiful!!

Oh wow, so it's right around the corner congrats!! I hope you have a beautiful day and can't wait to hear from you on your return =) Thanks for the advice- I'm trying not to get too overwhelemed and not go overboard as you said. At the end of the day, everyone there is celebrating you two, so all that other stuff will not matter.

Hi!! Thank you so much =) We are thinking of doing passport invitations- now that's quite a DIY project LOL So we'll see if we go the DIY route or have them done professionally. I'll definitely keep everyone posted on what the plans are =) I'll definitely be doing tons of DIY projects, as I plan on creating all of our menus, guest cards, labels, tags, programs LOL I'm even going to try doing centerpieces me self- as I really can't justify spending a ridculous amount of money Lomas wants to charge for things I personally don't love. BTW- Congratulations!! When was your big day? Any advice to a girl like me that's 11 months away and still has lots to do?

Dollar Tree Tote Bags
JennyBenz replied to kball21's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Great thanks for letting me know =) I'll try to track down a Dollar Tree near me in NYC! Anyone heard of Jacks 99? It's a pretty popular discount store here in the city. I'm going to take a walk there and see if I can find some deals =) -
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH LADIES!! It makes me realize they really are as amazing as I thought they were =) When you look at something for so long, you start to question everything! LOL Thanks to my FI who helped me to stay grounded- I was going to go all out with other ideas and ticket holders and jackets- WAY too much, I really love the way they came out- simple & elegant! I couldn't have done it without this forum! I'll be sure to post my next DIY adventure I go on haha

Hi!! Thanks so much =) Well, maybe it felt longer than it actually was- because I would work on them a little bit every night when I got home from work. The cutting is what really took the longeest to complete! For everything, from cutting to addressing envelopes, I would say it took about 10-12 hours. Exhausting, but worth it =) Quote: Originally Posted by NeeNeeLeake These Look AMAZIINGG!!!. You have definitely inspred me to go ahead and get started on mine! Hi Ladies! First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you fabulous brides & brides-to-be. Without your inspiration and advice, I would never have even attempted to do this myself! Although it took way longer than I anticipated, it was totally worth it! I gave them to our parents for an initial reaction, and they thought we had them professionally done! I hope this thread helps and inspires you all =) Breakdown of supplies & costs: http://Paperandmore.com -Boarding Pass Paper: #105 Peach Metallic Card Stock [100 sheets] X 2 packages = 200 sheets $59.98 -Boarding Pass Envelopes: #10 Pink Azalea Metallic 4 1/8" X 9 1/2" [50 envelopes] X 3 packages = 150 envelopes $41.97 http://www.michaels.com/ -Fiskars Round Corner Punch $11.99- On Sale = $9.09 -Fiskars Square Hole Punch 1/4" = $5.99 -Spool O' Ribbon Purple 2 for $1 = $2 for 4 spools I also used a paper cut, free of charge, as I have one in my office =) Total Spent = $119.03, $.92 per boarding pass! [130 made] Round corner punch & square hole punch Here is another view, as the colors vary in different lighting [due to the shimmer paper] The color really pops nicely in person, you can get a better idea of it by this one below: As for the envelopes, I was able to print directly onto them! Just do a test first to be sure they will go through your printer without jamming or smearing! I used Powerpoint to create these because it allowed me to recolor to my liking and edit each image. I'm not sure if it was the printer or the paper, but the original colors I used came out totally different when they printed [came out all red]! It took a bit of modifying, but it worked out just fine. http://www.ayleebits.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/temp-pass01.jpg I downloaded the FREE template from Aylee Bits! I actually deleted all of the information that was already included, so I also created a blank template for those of you who want to make one from scratch as I have. I am thrilled with the final product, and hope you all like them as much as I do!! Blank Boarding Pass.ppt

My worry was also the smearing- I would say out of the 150 I printed, maybe 5 of them smeared [so faintly I barely noticed]! Just be sure to take them out as soon as they're done printing, b/c the next page that comes out will hit it & smear b/c ink is still slightly wet. Can't wait to see how they come out! I just finished mine, so I'll be posting in the DIY forum today =)

YAY!! Thanks for sharing, great idea for OOT bags!!! -
YES! You can absolutely do this!! That's actually a GREAT idea for a new forum post- it can be a "pot luck" forum haha! And if you want this idea for your shower, there are cute ways to include the recipe card gift in the invitation. "A dash of wishes, a sprinkle of joy, and a whole lot of love" Please share your favorite recipe with the bride to be! Be sure to bring it with you to include in [name] recipe box! There are even really cute personalized recipe boxes that are specifically for the soon-to-be Mr & Mrs! My OOT Bags - PICS!
JennyBenz replied to lkw4568's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Super cute labels! I love their sayings, especially the one on the playing cards! Way to go, and by now you're happily married! Congratulations!! -
Bubbles- This is a GREAT idea!! If I had the pantry space, I'd totally do it LOL I've also done something like this in the past for my cousin's shower- but minus the ingredients. It was a traditional shower, but in the invites we asked guests to bring their favorite recipe. We provided the recipe cards, and had a cute little recipe box for guests to put them in!

LOL Seems like all of you ladies have a general concensus haha! My FI cares about the financial aspects, other than that he's good for a "yes" or "no", and most of the time it's "whatever you want honey". Sometimes I tell him it would be nice for more feedback, but I understand that he just doesn't care about flowers or colors haha But when you really want him to be a part of something, speak up! We sometimes forget to ask when we may be overwhelmed or stressed out, it's good to know there's always someone next to you. =)
