  1. We wore the same dress!! Good thing you changed out of it, I sweat my buns off at the reception!! Congratulations you looked beautiful!!!
  2. Thank you!! Brian got back to me also with the same price list!! He seems like a very nice guy!! 2013rates.pdf
  3. Hey Ladies!! I'm looking into doing a Trash the Dress next May, and won't be using the same photographer who did our wedding. Do you have pricing for Brian? Thanks so much!!
  4. Planning a destination wedding has been the most stressful, but amazing experience of my life! I have to say, there are no regrets about having our wedding in Jamaica. We had the best 7 days with friends and family on a vacation that we never would have been able to experience had it not been for the wedding. Having said all of that... as a bride-to-be, I learned a lot! -Keep yourself organized. It seems most destination wedding coordinators are.... MIA! If you concentrate on what you want your wedding day to be, keep all the details outlined, everything will fall into place. -Pick a great photographer. Look at A LOT of pictures before choosing, and do a MUST have list of shots. I will say the one part of my wedding I regret is not making that list. I trusted my photographer would be on top of it and he missed a lot of those sentimental shots that I would like to have had. (I'm actually getting $ back because of this) I paid a lot for photography and researched a lot of different photographers (almost $3000 with day pass) and did not have near the shots I anticipated, from TWO photographers! The ones I DO have are beautiful but I was definitely disappointed in what they missed. Perhaps letting them know ahead of time how important those shots are. Maybe I'm to critical, but a wedding photographer should be the absolute best of all photographers! I also didn't do a first look, and would probably do one if I could change it. It gives the photographer time to capture that amazing moment, without it all happening to fast. -Write your own vows! I wanted to do this and the weeks leading up to the wedding were so busy, we never got around to it. I think its even more beautiful to write your own! (We will do this eventually on our wedding vow renewals) -Cut costs where you can, the place you chose is already beautiful... let it show, and save some $. Guests really don't remember all of that little stuff anyway! -If you are traveling with decor and favors, ask around if anyone has any old suitcases they don't want anymore. We took one with favors and decor and just left it down there... we didn't have to pay to bring the bag back! -Speaking of "stuff"... decide on decor BEFORE you go buying all kinds of crap! I changed my mind a few times and I have a room full of junk now! Save yourself the running around and plan from photos online first before buying! -Jamaica is an amazing, amazing place!! Once you go, you know!! Here are a few photos from our day!!
  5. Gorgeous!! She did an amazing job! I loved Tulum when we vacationed in Mexico!!
  6. Dont hold your breath! I never even got the final details sheet from them. I got it from a bride on here and just sent it to them on my own.. never heard anything back. Up until our meeting down in Jamaica I still had unanswered questions. I got our "quote" days before we left and that was because I demanded it or they weren't getting paid!! I had priced everything pretty accurately for myself, and there were no surprises. Everything worked out fine, but it's a lot of unnecessary stress beforehand. It's easy to say now, just get yourself organized, with a write up of how you want it to look.. (i did diagrams also!) and how you want the events to take place. They do one wedding at a time, and by that... until it's your day they are not concerned with your wedding. Be sure the florist and photographer (do not use theirs!!!) has everything together also and it will all fall into place. If you are having a private reception, the DJ will lead the reception for the most part, so those details (timing, flow... etc) you will want to discuss with them.
  7. Thanks so much!!! I love my dress so much I put it back on twice already!! Once I clean and preserve it, I won't be able to!
  8. We were told no, BUT it seems every bride gets different answers, so that's one I'd get in writing from the WC. The rounds are 10 but we put 8 at each, bc 10 is tight! We ended up doing a private reception at Calabash.
  9. Thank you!! The slip is elastic from like a high waistline to your knees! I couldn't do some of the poses the photographer wanted bc my legs couldnt move in it!!!
  10. Finally got prof pics back from photog... I LOVED my Maggie Dress!! ..... I wore a Mermaid Slip to make the bottom pop a bit more and it was extremely hot!!! Halfway through the reception I had my MOH pull it off, and it was near impossible with the corset tied so tight around it!! I thought I was going to have a stroke! It does make a difference in how the dress looked for pictures so it was worth the discomfort in the end!
  11. I don't know how the packages have changed for the new rates but we did the Blessed by the Sea, not legal and just told them we had someone doing the ceremony for us... they never asked for a marriage license and we didn't do the "signing" table either... What hotel are you getting married at?
  12. We had 6 hours... i finally got my thumb drive from them and it only had 360 on it, and more than 100 of them were of the dance floor. Needless to say I freaked out. I'm getting the rest of the raw photos sent to me.. which is 1000, but I hate to say it, I'm not happy at all and we paid A LOT of $ for them. They didn't even get a clear shot of us coming back down the aisle...and there were TWO photographers. I just don't understand how they missed so many key moments. We did a lot of research and they are one of the most recommended where we got married. I'm completely bummed. The photos were the most important part of my budget and I have maybe a handful that wowed me. I won't say who it was until I let them straighten it out. I'm not sure if he was off his game that day or what, but a wedding album should have hundreds that wow you, not a handful.
  13. My step-father is also a judge. He did the ceremony in Jamaica, however it is not legal outside his jurisdiction so he would have to leagally marry you before you left. We did that 3 days before we left with immediate family only and didn't tell anyone
  14. ..sorry by duplicates, I mean the same pose... just shot at different angles. I'm curious how many usable photos I should end up with..
