RIU RM Palace Brides??
elissae replied to Jaime's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Welcome She2013 & congratulations! I booked my wedding at RPRM for April 2, 2013. I went ahead and booked 25 rooms to start through TA Wndy Hicks with Wright Travel. I found her on here through all the wonderful brides raving about her. She is wonderful to work with. She was able to give me group rates this far out. Because I am getting married Easter 2013 Break I wanted to book as soon as possible since that is a busy school holiday week for families. They are not giving many incentives at this time, however, Wendy assured me that if the rates go down throughout the course of the year, we can ask the resort to match the rate for my group. Not sure what your budget is, but the resort is not really offering and "incentives" this far out...although I am sure as time gets closer there will be better deal that we can ask to have credited to our group rate. Quotes are based on a 3 Night Minimum - For 7 nights (including transportation to & from the airport) - we got a quote of like $1600 per person. I believe the symbolic ceremony is the same as a religious ceremony. They are not "legally" recognized although you receive a "symbolic certificate of marriage." My FI & I are having a Civil Ceremony there which is the legal ceremony. I am not 100% sure on the cocktail hour/reception details as of yet...we will have over 20 people so given that i hope to have a DJ and do some type of cocktail hour/reception, but syill have not figured that part out yet. I guess based on my budget and how many people decide to book I will then make those decisions. Keep in touch - I would love to plan alongside you~ Elissa -

Thank you so much for sharing these with me! So may beautiful moments captured! -
I THINK I MAY BE CRAZY, please please be honest!!!! ...but I am sending out my boarding pass invitations hopefully tomorrow/Monday. Our wedding is not until next April 2, 2013. Although I just booked the resort & the block of rooms last week, many friends have known since last summer that we were planning a DW in April 2013 and that it would be dependent upon the Easter School Break). Some of us usually vacation together to the Caribbean in the Spring - so this was something "out there & in the works" per say. We sent out an informal STD via evites.com earlier this week indicating that a formal invitation was to follow soon and we included the link to our wedding website for more details. On the evite I indicated there was no RSVP necessary at this moment - it was just FYI only....well the feedback has been amazing! Many yes' & maybe's. My thought is, since we already know that a lot of our friends & family wish to join us, and they will book right away, why not send the invite?? Those who are planning on it will react right away (book/return RSVP card). It then gives the maybe's & the no's time to think about it, possibly save, think of ways to make it happen.....My Boarding Pass invites are 5 pages and the last page is a RSVP card they can detach and mail back - I gave them until Jan 2, 2013....it's fun and something they have never seen before and hopefully not something they would forget about (as far as RSVP'ing). I guess time will tell....it will be interesting to see....maybe send we can send an evite reminder in the fall about the RSVP, in case some tuck it away???? Any thoughts?? Again, I may be nuts, but since I've been working on these invites for 3 1/2 months, I really want them OUT so I can relax and do some more fun DIY projects and planning!! Thanks for listening/reading - any feedback welcome!

I hit up my local Walmart a few times a week - I always need something. Well I have been obsessing over OOT Bags and looking at numerous websites and forums on here.... Well, last week I was walking through their Accessories Department where they keep their Tote Bags & Purses & I found these tote bags! They were only $.88 a piece!!!!!! They only had 4 at the store I was in, but then I went on a "BAG HUNT" with my BFF - calling local stores & sending friends to them. We now have a total of 46 bags! I only needed potentially 40, but figured the extras would be great for groceries! They are perfect for our wedding since our colors are Navy and Emerald Green and we are doing a nautical theme with starfish, anchors, etc. I had already bought acrylic tumblers with straws from the Christmas Tree Shop last month for $2.99 a piece & they too are blue with green and other fun colorful anchors/nautical steering wheels/palm trees, etc. I have also been designing/using a VistaPrint anchor template on a lot of their items...so these bags were it! I think it was fate since I had found a lucky penny that day in another aisle at Walmart and then proceeded to this department where I found the bags! Here is a pic...I will post the other goodies I have so far (from VistaPrint) as well as the tumblers, etc to go inside it very soon...SO EXCITED! They are a non-woven 80 polypropylene recyclable bag.

GREAT JOB! I love the poem of the Kleenex packet! i, too, have been addicted to Vistprint - I have placed like 5 orders so far & my wedding is next year! I may also look for the lotion in Michael's clearance!!! Like that idea. As for your mini wine bottles, maybe add stickers to them with your name or date to cover the label or put them in a clear or colored cellophane bag (like used for fudge or candy) and just tie the top of bag with ribbons of your wedding colors....or Michael's has those Organza colored favor bags - will they maybe fit in one of those??? Just a thought.

Wow Miss Bubbles - you are getting so much done - I, like you, have been a busy bee. You have motivated me to start getting my Planning Thread together and share some ideas... I was hoping you wouldn't mind sharing your powerpoint template (since I am unfamilar with Publisher) for your inserts for the Lanyards. I bought my lanyards and badge holders from the idcardgroup website and find that my badge holders are slightly bigger than all the templates on this site. I've tried to start my own or adjust the exisiting templates and I am pulling my hair out! If you rather email it than post it, my email is [email protected]. It would be most helpful - I really just need help with the sizing... All of your ideas are great! I am in the midst of my OTT bags, I was just waiting on the meds and things - although if expiration dates are good in the stores (at least through May 2013 - maybe I will start buying now!!!!) You are motivating me. Thanks for your help....I will continue to follow your progress. Best of luck!

The bodice detail is magnificent! Your shoulders look HOT! Great choice! What a gorgeous dress....so elegant...I love it. Diamond white sounds so pretty - cannot wait to see a photo of you in it. Sorry it is the stock photo, the picture of me in my actual dress got deleted from my sister's phone, so I will just have to wait until alteration time to get another. I got it in diamond white so that I don't match the sand lol, and I am getting rid of the bow. I am also thinking about changing the neckline to make it more of a sweetheart, but still undecided about that part. This dress is made for a princess! I like the idea of adding a sweetheart neckline. So happy for you. uote: Originally Posted by TauruSmith I found my dress at the Bridal Garden in NYC. I am altering the neckline to sweetheart, the back to come down in a v, instead of straight across, adding buttons all the way down the back, and removing the underlayer, where it hits the floors, so it will only be lace gliding over the sand!! I'm going to wait about 6 months to start the alterations though. -
