  1. LOL Realcdngirl! My mom isn't really a "hanky" persom either, but I loved the saying and know it will come in handy on the wedding day with her tears. I love the family tree gift Perfect idea!
  2. Hi Ladies, I am a April 2013 bride. I am current;y a WW LIFETIME MEMBER (since Jan 2011). I lost 25 pounds 1 1/2 years ago and have been able to maintain my goal weight so far. WW is the best program. I love it & it works! Please let me know if I can be of any help/support to you. It's a lifestyle not a diet!!!! Good luck!
  3. Thanks hon - i'll prepare myself! i had to do the same thing with them for some of my invitation supplies I needed. I hit up 3 area Staples! LOL!
  4. Hi Ladies! Congratulations to you all! I am also a 2013 BRIDE! I live in Upstate NY. Our wedding date is April 2, 2013 and we are booked/confirmed at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen. 336 days to go! LOL! 3 couples booked so far!!! We are traveling 3/27/12 - 04/06/12 during the Easter 2013 School Break (My FI's son will be a sophomore in HS next year). We chose this resort because we had vacationed there 2 years ago with some friends and absolutely fell in love with it. Such an exciting time in our lives, huh??? All this excitement & planning!! Looking forward to making some new friends here & getting some wonderful ideas!
  5. Welcome LoveinParadise! I know what you mean - once you get that date confirmed it's a relief and you can just start tat planning!!!! Good luck! You found the best wedding site here!!!! Congrats on confirming you date, Cindy2013!!!!
  6. Well that stinks! I also just checked out that website and they are not taking anymore orders until they catch up on their present ones.
  7. I know where I am going at lunchtime tomorrow! Tahnks hanks for the heads up!
  8. yes, I saw this! I had received an email that they were 5 for $5.00 and I could use a promo for 20% off and FREE SHIPPING. When I went to order online, they would only allow me to buy a max of 25 in one scent. I needed 80 in my colors to put 2 in each bag: 40 Green (Island Margarita) & 40 Blue (Dancing Waters). So before placing my order I went to my local store and they honored the 20% off so I got all 80 for .80 a piece...a little more than I wanted to pay...I mean I could have got 2 for 1 basic brand stuff at the Dollar Tree, but these are nicer and in my colors! What we do to make things pretty! The woman at the store indicated the shelf life on these is at least 3 years so I went ahead and purchased even though my wedding is not until next April 2013. Keep an eye out or join their email list - they are always sending me email specials!!!
  9. Yes, keep playing around within the site and creating things...save them to your account. Vistaprint will send you email sall the time with deals. Also, google Vistaprint...sometimes deals come up that way as well. Although, I must WARN you ahead of time....IT IS VERY ADDICTING! i am constantly on there and ordering!!! Good luck!
  10. I like how you included a map of the resort. How were you able to get one? Your travel agent or did you contact the resort? Great Bag!!!! Your guests will love them!
  11. Amanda, I was thinking the same thing. I read in a post from a fellow RPRM bride (from last year) who said she got her mother a handkerchief as a gift that said the following, "Today a bride, tomorrow a wife, forever a daughter. Thank you for teaching me to love with all my heart." She then signed it with her mom's pet/nickname for her and the wedding date. I loved that idea and will do that for my Mom. I am unsure what to do for my future in-laws...
  12. You did a lovely job on your welcome bags! I love the poem tag you included on your mugs! Congrats on your recent nuptials!
  13. These are adorable - thanks for sharing. This is my next project! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Yes now is the time to grab those bags at the Dollar Tree. Our local Clifton Park, NY store has so many different colors! It was funny one day they did not have them and the next week I was there they were EVERYWHERE! Tons of bright fun colors!
  15. Just a thought - check out some of the wedding dyeable shoes...I saw a bride on here with the most gorgeous emerald green wedges...she dyed them. I do not think they were peep toe...maybe....I think she said they were Benjamin Adams , style Carmen. Good Luck!
  16. Hi Kisha311 - Did you order??? What did you get? I think the navy & fuchsia will look amazing together!!!! My colors are navy and emerald green & I plan to splash fuchsia in there somehow....maybe just on the actually wedding day with my flowers. I ordered the navy sashes and saw the table runners too....not sure if I will get or not.

  19. Thank you, CIndy2013! My FI & I have had our date set (well, the month and year at least) since last summer of 2011. We did not get officially engaged until Christmas 2011, so all of our friends were the same way, asking where the invitations were. We sent them out over a week ago & I already have 4 couples booked! Along with 2 additional YES RSVP's & one NO. Everyone loved them & thought they were so unique. (Thanks to the wonderful ideas on this site!). I know I am WAY EARLIER than the norm, but my crowd was grateful for them! Let me know how you make out! xoxo Elissa
  20. MY LOVE STORY… Where do I begin to tell you how I got to the happiest place in my life?? Let’s see…up until seven years ago, I was single, I had never been married and I had no children (except for my handsome furry son, my German Shepherd, Mister Wilson). I always seemed to be a bridesmaid and never a bride…standing out in the middle of that dance floor with that group of single ladies waiting for that bouquet to be tossed her way. (Look at ME, I am a BM!!!) (My son, Mister Wilson) I was not always single. I had been in a relationship for seven years which ended in 2001. We were young, in love, and had the whole world at our fingertips, yet, we let it get away from us and we grew apart. When that chapter in my life ended, I continued on. I bought my home, climbed the corporate ladder and slowly made my way into the dating scene again. Well, after four years of kissing one too many frogs & having my fair share of heartaches- I bailed on trying to find the one! I was emotionally exhausted and decided to stop dating indefinitely. I was done! Funny though, don’t they always seem to say that once you stop looking – someone comes along and finds you? Hmmm... My boss’ wife at the time was a real sweetheart. She so wanted me to find that great guy to sweep me off my feet. One day, she surprised me with a gift. It was a beautiful key chain of an elephant with its trunk up. The card read: This is the first of a series of “Good Luck†gifts for you. There is an old Chinese belief that if you want to bring luck to someone, you bestow the gifts of elephants upon them. The elephants must be received as a gift & a series of seven will complete the cycle. Look for elephants with their trunks up. What a thoughtful gesture…I was touched. It actually gave me hope…that good things were coming my way. It also awakened me to see elephants in a different light…it was uplifting and made me more aware of them in my surroundings. Over the course of several weeks, I started to receive these precious, random gifts of elephants with their trunks up. My first one was the key ring. Then a pen arrived, soon after a figurine, then an adorable elephant greeting card with a scratch off with elephants on it, a stuffed animal, a sterling silver bracelet and lastly, a beautiful Lenox crystal elephant ring holder. I met my fiancé, Bill seven years ago this month actually…when I had sworn off men…I had remained single and unavailable for nearly a year. From the first night we met – I knew he was the one. He had the most charismatic, brilliant smile that lured me in and the butterflies would not stop twirling in my stomach. I hate to sound cliché, but I am pretty sure he had me at HELLO! We clicked instantly. It was amazing. We had so much in common – our love of the water & boating, cooking & fine wine. We shared a passion for many of the same things, we knew so many of the same people, but through different circles of friends and our paths never crossed! CRAZY! I kept looking for a sign, asking for a sign…trying to figure it all out. Are all these wonderful feelings I am having too good to be true???? After dating for nearly a month, he invited me over to his home for dinner and to meet his son, Jake. I was a bit nervous…this was a big step for us. Low & behold I had nothing to fear. When we got settled at the house and sat down to dinner…I looked over into the family room…on the sofa table behind the couch I saw something that took my breath away…a statue of an elephant, with his trunk up. O-M-G!!! My sign! From that moment on, I knew I was where I needed to be…with my soul mate. (My sign - 7 years ago!) After nearly seven years of navigating the waters together on the beautiful & majestic Lake George (in upstate New York), we are officially going to sail away together! My Captain proposed to me, his First Mate, on Christmas morning 2011 & made me the happiest girl in the world. Since we both share a love of water, we are planning a destination wedding at The Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen on April 2, 2013. Bill, Jake and I, as well as Mister Wilson (who is now 10.5!) are truly blessed! (Captain Bill & First Mate Elissa on Lake George, NY) (My future step-son, Jake) xoxo My Lenox crystal elephant ring holder now comes in handy… Wishing you all the luck of the elephant! xoxo TRUNKS UP!!!
  21. Congratulations Mrs. Wright! I am so happy for you...wishing you a blessed new chapter in your life. Thank you for sharing this amazing planning thread with us! I loved it! So creative. You, along with many brides on here, have been an inspiration to me since I joined BDW. So excited to hear how it all turned out. I am sure it was spectacular and such a fairy tale! xoxo, Elissa
