  1. UPDATE TO OUR SITUATION: When I last posted here, we were on the fence. We have now booked our wedding for April 2, 2013 at Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen. We have decided to have the legal/civil ceremony there. We will arrive Wed.,3/27/12 so we have ample time to work through the "red tape." Luckily 4 of our guests are also coming the same day so they will be our legally required witnesses. It all "seems" to be coming together. Getting there sooner willalso allow me time to get my OOT bags together and delivered. I just need to confirm exactly what documentation we need in regard to my FI's Divorce Decree. It is required I bring the original decree with us, along with a copy translated into Spanish and apostilled. This should be fun! Echraide, I see you day is coming up. Are you all set with your required docs, etc?

I just had some quick questions in regard to your Chapstick template. 1. What type of stickers/labels did you use to print these out on? 2. Did you take off th original chapstick labels or just place over them? Thanks for your expertise! Warmest regards, Elissa CD Chapstick.doc

  9. I know we talked about this via PM, but thought I would post an answer in case anyone else is looking for an answer. Unlike other cultures, a Mexican (or Spainard) has 2 surnames. While in most cultures, a child takes the last name of either his mother or father. A child in Hispanic or Mexican culture is given surname (last names) of both parents.
  10. I agree with Pucca. Go with colored wedges!!!! USe one of your wedding colors as your wedge color - a nice POP!!!!!!!
  11. Good Luck! Let us know how you make out. You are right, nothing online - they are in the $1 bins in the store.
  12. Staples has them right now. I just scored 44 of them by hitting a few area stores. They are the yellow & purple book for $1.00! Good Luck!

  16. Thank you so much JQLong for posting this and getting me motivated to find these books! I found another 9 in a town that is 10 minutes away. My FI hit the jackpot and found 25 in one store near his office. We now have 44! I figure I will give the 4 extra to my soon to be stepson and his friends who are Freshman in HS taking Spanish & complaining about it! Let me know how you make out! I could always look in my area for you!!!! and mail them to you!!!
  17. Hi Ladies, I just received an email today from Magnet Street that I thought I would share: DISCOUNT: 20% off PROMO CODE: WFORTUNE EXPIRES: 05/07/12 Here is the link: http://www.magnetstreet.com/wedding-sale-517?mgstStoreRefId=EML-25797&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_campaign=Bride_Vibe_All&utm_content=EML-25797 Enjoy!
  18. Oddly, when I first starting calling around, they said that they could not look up by SKU # which I thought was absolutely RIDICULOUS! I even tried looking for them online that way - no such luck. I just called - asked for Handbag Dept and they sent me to Jewelry. I told them I was looking for a recycled bag I saw in the Handbag Dept hanging on the wall. It was Navy Blue with White Anchors...marked for .88 cents. Some found them right away - some seemed clueless! For instance, one store said they did not have them (I think they were too lazy to really look). My sister-in-law went into that same store that evening and found 3-4 bags for me!!!!!!!!!!! My BFF helped me by having some of her co-workers who lived in out of the way towns - check their Walmart for me. That's how I got an extra 6 bags! I've been shopping everything based on an estimate of 40 bags needed. (1 per couple) Apparently Walmart will not "HOLD" anything for you, but I was able to sweet talk some of stores! I just explained my story of welcome bags for a Destination Wedding I was having....a few were like, oh such a nice idea!!!! (Nuts buying for 40 with a year to go until the wedding, but my estimate list is close to that - so it is helping me make progress with the OOT bag items. Any leftover items - some I can return - some I will use - and some I can always sell on here, right?)
  19. Dominiqueamber - you definitely should. I called around to all my area Walmart stores - I was told to ask for the Jewelry Dept...I guess they oversee the handbag dept...anyway I was able to round up 46 of them...I figure any extras I can use as grocery bags for myself or use as gift bags down the road. GOOD LUCK!
  20. Found my first 10 - now on a quest for 30 more!!! LOL LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
