  2. GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GIRL!!! What a bride you will be. It fits you perfectly!!!! Congrats on the 15 lbs!!!!
  3. Breath taking!!! You were a beautiful bride - your dress & you look so amazing. Congrats - your pictures make me so excited to be a destination bride!!!!
  4. Congratulations on your wedding! Everything is so beautiful. It came together so perfectly! I love your DIY Projects, especially the straws! I am in the process of my own DIY Project of drink stirriers/straws and having trouble finding the right ones. Can you or your "husband" (great job hubby!) provide some more detail...like where you purchased the straws from? Any template for the flags, etc. I bought some labels for my flags, but may go the paper route instead....any insight you could give would be wonderful! Thank you for sharing!!!
  5. I would try & buy them too!!! Bummer about the veil fitting, but December will be here before you know it!!! Definitely have your shoes by then so you can get the "full effect." Worst case they clash and you can resell on ebay or something, but I am thinking they are going to be perfect! Although your dress does not have polka dots, the flowers on the skirt of the it have that same pattern per say of the circles/rosette flowers...I think it flows well to the shoe. (does that make sense? LOL) I so hope it works out for you - simply lovely!!! Follow your heart!
  6. ABSOLUTELY - they would look so FABULOUS with your dress!!!!!! You can get most certainly pull the polka dots off!! They are absolutely perfect!!!!! They are your something BLUE and they are sexy & even a hit of whimsical FUN! GO FOR IT! Please let me know what you decide!
  7. Thank you Kay6356 - I appreciate your input - THE BELT WINS!!!! xoxo Ohhh noooo, do not have regret, Dazeydawl!!!!! I was so taken back by your dress....it actually gave me some regret on mine! Try it on again if you need to, but I think it is so princess like - eloquent ...unique!!!!! I think a lot of us brides are thinking too much about our choice of dresses!!! This must be normal!!! LOL...follow your gut/intuition - she will never steer you wrong!!!!! Thanks for the comments on my dress/belt. You will be happy to hear the belt has won! Although, since it's paid for I will stick it out with this one! If it wasn't as pricy as it was I'd maybe buy another and try to sell this, but I will follow my initial gut instinct when I picked it out. :-) Thank you olive0y1!!! You are right! It's what makes the bride happy no matter how hard we try to please our moms and nanny's. ;-)
  8. EVKnositall - can I just tell you that you made me cry! Thank you for being so sweet !!! You all have made me feel so much better about my dress - this forum, I have to say IS THE BEST support a bride-to-be can ask for! LOVE YOU LADIES SO MUCH!!!! I am with you, I love a classic chic look, however, I like a bit of a WOW! That's kind of my personality...classy but fun! So after reading through everyone's thoughts, I think I will keep the sash with the bling. Perhaps keep the bow, however, shorten it slightly). I am hoping to find a big bling bracelet/bangle and some dangling earrings....then a tropical flower in my hair. My shoes are a navy bling sandal (Caparros Zorro). I feel relieved to hear that you, too, had that same feeling I did when inspecting your dress. I was the same way...doubting the dress and looking at the sash initially saying, is this the one I ordered? I remembered it somewhat differently...you kindness and empathy have put me at ease. Thanks for taking the time to make me feel better (all of you for that matter!). Yes, I cannot believe we are at 60 guests (62 counting Bill & I)....we have a few more couples who "say they are coming" so I am hoping we tap off at 70! LOL !!! Although no complaints - we are blessed to have so many who want to come and vacation with us and share in our day. It's my FI's 2nd wedding and my 1st. I am 43 and FINALLY getting married. HaHa - No longer a spinsta!!! JK!!! Thanks again - hope I can return the favor to you sometime!
  9. HOW FUN!!! I love them!!! Wedges are the best! Quote: Originally Posted by Peach Okay, I can finally post my shoes! I actually got them this summer.. actually. FI picked them out! $30! A little ribbon to the back, tied in a knot under the wide strap, and voila!
  10. Awesome - thanks Speckles121 xoxo - yes, there is a Five Below in one town over....I will check them out! Definitely appreciated the heads up!!!!!
  11. GREAT IDEA about the space saving bags! I am going to make a trip to my local Dollar Store and see if I can find some! This will be great for my chair sashes, table runners and my actual OOT bags!!! Thank you for sharing!
  12. Thank you Tulumbride2013 ~ I love the bling myself...I think you are right - the dress needs it!! You are so sweet uhura526 - thank you...you girls are starting to boost my confidence again....so you like the bow? I am thinking maybe keep it....the dress zips up the back - no buttons so I am bot hiding anything as far as detail.....just a bit if lace is all.... ChocoTaco7568 ~ aww thank you...I was sad that I did not have same reaction, but I am going to follow my gut (which never steers me wrong) and tell myself I made the right decision. Also - all you ladies and your comments are making me feel more confident with my choice. As far as the sash - I like the way you perceive it. You are right - it will enhance the silhouette with the mermaid....it's funny that you mentioned that many think lace is beautiful on its own...I think in my case it's a generational thing because my Mom & Nanny are the ones loving the lace...no sash.... As far as your new dress - I love the sash and I think yes - sew it on so as to not hide the button detail on the back....my dress is a zipper up the back - no buttons - so perhaps I keep the bow, however, shorten the length of it..... Agreed brgephar! Thank you so much for your input - it means a lot! Awww, thanks CourtandMatt!!!!! I think the belt will be a keeper - perhaps shorten the bow in back a bit.....I also received a free veil (promotion when I ordered dress). I am not wearing it for the ceremony, however, I decided to bring to Mexico to get a few pictures with it.... Hi AndreaandAaron - thank you so much! The back of the dress zips up - no buttons. I agree with your thoughts about the buttons - all the way down do look so elegant & timeless! 13. Well my dress arrived last week! I went to the bridal shop Saturday to inspect, try it on and pay off the balance. I ordered it 9 months ago and was about 5 lbs lighter (maybe a few inches less, too!). When they measured me back in January, they wanted to order me the size 10. I asked to order a size 12 instead since I know coming off the summer I am a bit heavier and would rather have more to work with then not enough as far as alterations go. Thank goodness I did because the size 12 fit almost perfectly, a little bit too snug for my comfort, but I am not use to wearing form fitting dresses/gowns like this. And I know I hope to lose those 5 lbs and a few inches between now and the wedding. There will be a few alterations needed, like perhaps an inch on the hem and an eyelet hook on the back which ironically once was not sewn into the dress. I gotta say I have been so happy about my dress choice all these months, but ironically this past Saturday I had some doubt...I was even a tiny bit sad. I have no clue what came over me...hours later I felt better about my choice after looking at the pics, but that initial thought of doubt scared me. Maybe it was just all the excitement and build up to that day...who knows! I just wish that did not happen initially. :-( I had ordered an accessory belt to bling up the dress a bit. I was planning to tie as a bow in the back and not sew/attach to the dress. However, now I am unsure. My Mom & Nanny seem to think the dress alone, without the belt, is the way to go. Mom thought the bow took away from the beauty of the back of the dress. My best friend thought the bling of the belt was "me" and perhaps sew the belt onto the dress, bling in front, however, no bow in back, just sew the ribbon to back of dress to the center zipper. My other girlfriend thought the bow in the back was simple and romantic. Now I am on the fence. I was looking to have the belt and match my jewelry with it. Just some hanging earrings and a bracelet (no necklace since I'd have the bling of the belt). Also, no veil, just a tropical flower in my hair. I would love any input you ladies may have. Here are pics from Saturday with and without the belt/bow. Thanks girls! xoxo
