  1. Almost forgot...got my plastic 1 quart freezer bags there for my survival kits. 1 box - 20 bags for $1
  2. Oh my goodness, AllieH, what a wonderful planning thread!!! I cannot believe your day has come and gone! Over the past year I have seen may of your posts & support to all of us brides. CONGRATULATIONS, you were a beautiful bride!!!! Your pictures posted so far are GORGEOUS! I am so happy for you. All your hard work paid off!!! xoxo I was curious what you used to hold your table #'s? Are those frames showing on your table setting what you used? May I ask where you found them? Also, would you be so king to share with me your DJ spreadsheet as well? (elissae@nycap,rr.com) I am in the process now of going through music & selecting songs and a playlist for the reception. Thanks for sharing your ideas!!!!
  3. Yes, the gum was great! I made sure it had a long expiration date (the ones I bought expire June 2013 - my wedding is April 2013 - I figure it will be chewed that week hopefully - LOL) I haven't seen the aloe in the Dollar Tree and I've been at this since last January. :-( I wanted to do aloe & suntan lotion, but decided not to since people normally bring that stuff with them (at least the suntan lotion). If I find aloe within the next 2 months I think I will buy.
  4. Dollar Tree is amazing! In addition to the the The 36 nail files for $1 (as mentioned above) & SPF Chapsticks (2 in a pack) for $1 - flavors: cherry, aloe & natural I also found: Mini Kleenex (8 in a pack) for $1 Trident Gum (4 per pack) for $1 - flavors: watermelon twist & tropical twist I like to try and hit it up every few weeks to see what new things come in.
  5. Staples in the states carries them in their $1 bins as well.
  6. Thanks Marymack - that's a HUGE compliment. I must say, this website really motivated me! Thank goodness for it!! Thanks CDC-SRW!!! My resort indicated that I should bring everything there personally. They will not take deliveries of provisions, plus there is no guarantee it will get there with customs and all. I feel more comfortable taking it there myself, too. (Well, not lugging it all - hahaha). Yes, I believe it's $300 per person in customs. I am traveling that day with my FI, his son, and 2 other couples so I think I can separate it well enough. I am planning on packing extra suitcases with all the wedding provisions. Right now I am thinking 2 but there may be 3 (in addiiton to my gown and my own personal suitcases' with clothes, etc!) Some of our friends donated old suitcases to us that they no longer need/want. I plan to leave them in Play a del Carmen when we come home. I may leave a note with the maid to either keep them or give away/throw away/donate.
  7. Hi MrsLtoBe - I went back & forth about OOT bags and then just took the plunge - this should be fun getting everything there! I found the bottle openers at the "cheapest" last March at Price Wise Favors. I bought 100 for $1.30 a piece = $130 & I got 10% off. Here is the link: http://www.pricewisefavors.com/starfish-design-bottle-opener-favors-p-1104.html I just checked their website this morning and they are offering another 10% off today...so if you bought 100 they are $1.17 a piece - although shipping is like $18! They equal out to $1.36 a piece - that's what I paid. If you bought 50 - they are $1.42 minus 10% $1.28 each - and shipping is $14. - Still not bad - like $1.55 each....ebay prices 50 for $93 is like $1.86 a piece. Good luck!
  8. Thanks TauruSmith! You've got plenty of time!!! Now that the holidays are almost over you are sure to catch up! Thank you Marymack!!!
  9. Hey Ladies, Just a FYI ~ I was following up today on an email I sent to Nancy over 3 weeks ago with no response (that is normally not like Nancy, but I gave her some time in case she was busy.) I received an email back today saying, "I just want to inform you that for personal reasons Miss Nancy is not working with us but I will be taking care about your questions and comments." I'll keep you posted. Happy Planning & Happy Holidays! xoxo
  10. Wow - this is so beautiful & unique...it fita you perfectly. I love this.
  11. It's been a while since I posted my ring. I "instagramed" a pic of my ring 2 months ago while on vacation. I thought I would share it again...I am so in love with it & my FI! 109 days until our BIG DAY! We are going to look at wedding bands next week....CANNOT WAIT! xoxo
  12. This dress was made for you, Worstbride! I love it! Lola, Lola, Lola - you look heavenly! Congrats on your wedding!! EmilyT, my 1st instinct/gut reaction is the long veil! Classic & beautiful! Regardless, both look fabulous! LKocelko - sheer elegance! Love it!!!
  13. Thanks for your insight, I appreciated it!! Although, yes, I already sent my invites out 6 months ago as I said I might. Luckily, it proved to be successful for me to do so. My wedding is less than 5 months away and I have 62 guest booked (including me, my FI & stepson)...with another 10 people in the wings to book....all my guests that I spoke to said they were happy to have the tangible invitation in hand so they could plan their vacations accordingly. Almost nearly everyone has RSVP'd to date so we are in a good place right now. My invites were DIY and came out great! It took the pressure off me to have them done and sent out and allowed me to get to work on all my other DIY projects as well as our OOT bags, survival kits, programs, etc. Our guests were only required to pay $50 per person as a deposit on the rooms and a lot of them booked their airfare this past summer since we are getting married Easter break. A very busy travel time for families.
  14. Wonderful news! So happy the dress survived Sandy! 60 lbs? Awesome for you girlfriend! A few measly pounds OF COURSE can be lost!
  15. Oh EVKnowsitall - I sure hope the news is good about your dress!!! What a terrible tragedy in NY/NJ...my heart breaks for all those people who are suffering. I am a New Yorker as well (upstate)...so this really hits home for all of us. Although worrying about the dress pales in comparison - of course you hope your dress is okay - it's your dream dress...of course you worry - nothing wrong with that! ;-) Keep us posted. xoxo Thank you, Chantal09!!!
  16. Thank you so so much for sharing the details - again - I absolutely LOVE how they came out. KUDOS to your Hubby for helping!!! I do not have Adobe Illustrator. :-( I will check with some co-workers in my office when I go in tomorrow...(i have been on vacation - just got back yesterday). Is there anyway to open the template in excel/word or powerpoint?
  17. Thanks Stephanie072007 - I owe it all to this forum!!!! Thanks a bunch JayKay -I am happy to hear that your guests loved the starfish bottle opener!!! I figure it would come in handy with the beers in their refrigerators!! LOL
