  1. Come Away With Me by Norah Jones is starting to grow on me....or an instrumental piano version of Bruno Mars Just The Way You Are by Piano Tribute Kings. Still deciding....
  2. Thanks Marymack, nabateman, DVhtu!!!! You girls are sweet. Stephanie, Vistaprint is definitely challenging at first, but then once you keep playing with it you start to figure things out. Create an account on their site. Then keep going on the site and create things & save them in your account portfolio. After doing that a few times, vistaprint will send you tons of emails with different specials/discounts. The welcome cards I did were 100 - so of course I did not use all of them..but I got them for free....just paid shipping. The postcards were 100 as well...but I am giving my guests 4 postcards per welcome bag so they can use them to write a note and mail! The business cards require at least 250....but the gift tags are same size as business cards so I think you can order them in smaller lots of 25 or 50. Keep playing and if you run into a snag - let me know. GOOD LUCK!
  3. Adriadna has been good with information up until this evening. UGH! I sent a response tonight letting her know I am starting to get concerned (along with some other brides). I put Paola on copy. Hopefully things will get better, for all of us!!!
  4. Ariadna has been getting back to me usually within a day sometimes two days. Perhaps since my wedding is less than 3 months away? I ma unsure how busy she is...be patient. I am sure she will respond.
  5. Em - 17 is great - perfect in my eyes. I am not having a AHR, so I was surprised with our 64 (a few more in the wings to book, too). I am beginning to worry about all these OOT items...TGIF so I can have some wine and forget about it for a day or two! haha Hi Kard613 - thanks for the compliment. You are sweet, A semi-private cocktail hour is just that. You are amongst other resort guests at the bar/bar area, yet your group is off to the side with some tables set up. Drinks are free (part of the all inclusive), although if we decide to have some appetizers be brought out I think we have to pay so much per person. As of now we think we want to do that - it's a lot of food, but we figure if we order the minimum to tie peopkle over until dinner. We are going to be on the outside part of the bar in the plaza so it will be more spacious and we will have our cigar roller there. When I first started my planning, I requested a Private Dinner for 7PM at the Chili's Steakhouse (based on old posts in ths thread) and they allowed me. I have 64 guests (and a few more in the wings). I think the # of guests you have may also be a factor in them allowing the private seating. Also, a private reception at the RPRM is the only way they allow you to have a DJ. We wanted a DJ. I would ask your planner if you have that option...it never hurts to ask!!!! GOOD LUCK & keep us posted!
  6. Jez111213 - welcome back sister! Like I told Emily, I think we are doing the Full 1 day package unless Bill talks me into going down to the 3 hour coverage...I think I will stand my ground. My 1st wedding (his 2nd) and I want pics of the whole PARTY! The only pics I will do before the ceremony are getting ready..not sure if I want to do a first look session....I think I'd rather have Bill's first look be seeing me walk down the aisle. I switched our ceremony time for 5 PM to 4 PM so we could enjoy the cigar roller we hired for the cocktail hour...and it buys us a little more time for pics before cocktail hour. We don't want to miss a thing! I am pretty sure (based on brides of the past) that you can bring your iPod, but there is a fee involved if you want to hook it up to their sound system. Unless you bring portable speakers. You may want to double check with Ariadna. She replaced Nancy. Our private reception will be 7 PM - 11 PM...we are paying an additonal $150 to have the restaurant for the additional hour (10 - 11 PM)...I tell ya - higway robbery! lol On our Wedding Day Timeline I put a After Hours at our room after the reception since we reserved the 2 story suite. Here is the template for our wedding day timeline. Freyer Fiesta Timeline Draft 3.pptx
  7. Em, My stress started full throttle this week. My R.S.V.P. due date was this past Wednesday 1/2/13. We've had a good response (a lot of bookings), but some people just don't respond at all? I mean, we can assume they have not booked by now or asked questions by now, that they are a no, but COME ON! RESPOND! (LOL!) Also, my Mom is throwing me a shower on 1/19/13 and she is getting slow responses (hence my FB status last night.) We are going to use the Resort Photographer Adventure Photo's. I've been corresponding with Petar Gachevski. I think we may do the Full 1 day coverage package which includes getting ready, ceremony, photo session, cocktail party, reception & cake cutting. I may add an additonal photographer for 1-2 hours to cover ceremony and Bill getting ready. I think we are going to do photos of Bill & I and also have them take couple photos/group photos of our guests on the beach. You are right behind me - I will pass you the torch!!! xoxo Let me know if O cna be of any help or a soundboard!
  8. Hi Sweet Emily, I am at the 3 month mark - the stress has started! LOL! My timeline is as follows for Tuesday, April 2: 4:00 PM Wedding at Gazebo 4:30 PM Group Photos 5:15 PM Semi-Private Cocktail Hour at Lirico Bar 7:00 PM Private Reception at Chili's Steakhouse My Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner is Monday, April 1st at 7 PM at Don Monalo Buffet (semi-private - they will set some tables up in a segeragated area behind the desserts for our group).
  9. I was going to make a trip to the good will store & look for some old suitcases to buy. Instead, I put up a Facebook Status asking friends if they had any old suitcases they no longer wanted or needed. I plan to bring our wedding supplies in these suitcases and then leave them behind at our room at the resort with a note for the maid indicating to keep for yourself or a friend or throw away. Today we are at the 3 month mark & I am now in the process of organizing the loot. Thank goodness I saved all my receipts. I will do the same as the other brides suggested and put a folder in each suitcase with a spreadshhet of items and their correlating receipts. Scary thing is I thought I only needed 2 suitcases for everything. Now it may be 3 possibly 4.....I am going to start talking to some friends to help if I go over 3. I look forward to hear how you make out - only 16 days until you depart!!!!
  10. Great guetsbook idea...I am 3 months away from our wedding & have not decided on a guestbook yet - this may be perfect! Thanks for sharing .xoxo
  11. LOL! I was the same way...once I could open attachments I saved so much to a flash drive....let me know if you need any help with anything!!! xoxo
  12. I was going to go that route with the Avery Kist I saw them in Staples, but it was cheaper for me to do 40 bags using Dollar Tree Bags - I spent $2.80 for 40 kits - 2 boxes of freezer 1 quart bags - $1.00 each x 2 = $2.00 - 20 sheets of white 110 lb cardstock paper from Walmart for my bag toppers (150 sheets for $5.48 = .04 a sheet) = .80 Here is the topper template I then just printed at home on our printer and cut them myself & stapled them on top (once I stuffed the bags). 13. More of My Planning Thread Continued... Engagement Photos Here are a few of our engagement photos taken back in October 2012...I had finally talked FI into it. Cocktail Hour Ideas: We have hired a cigar roller for our cocktail hour. I ordered the following matchboxes from www.theknot.com. I will place them in this basket at the cigar roller's table which I bought at Michael's. I also made this sign for the cigar rolling table - I got the idea from BDW bride mrspfafftobe. I bought the frame from Michael's as well. I ordered these cocktail napkins for the cocktail hour from www.theknot.com I am in the process of a few more DIY Projects - hopefully I can make my own drink stirrers. I have a few templates & I am playing around with them. I am also making my ceremony programs, wedding day timeline as well as my dinner menus...I will post more as I complete them and have pictures for you. To be continued...
