  1. We got married on Monday and had our pictures in our hand Thursday night. We sat in the wedding office and picked all of them for a few hours that night and Santiago burned our CD for us right then since Anel was off. We got to see our wedding slideshow that night too, but I asked if she would change a few of the pictures so she did that and facebook messaged me the link to it on Friday night. We didn't feel like picking our pictures for our photobook at that time so haven't received that yet. I just sent those to her a few weeks ago and the email confirmation I got said it could be up to 4 weeks for it to be shipped to us.
  2. sorry here is the link to our slideshow. For some reason it isn't pasting. http://171212ryan.dreamsriveriacancun.adventurephotos.com.mx/#/ryan/ Hope this helps!
  3. Here is the link for the sunset times: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=923 and the TTD slide show is on the same link as the wedding pictures. If you look in the left hand upper corner there are 2 links, wedding and TTD slideshow. Where are you wanting to have your reception at? I just don't think there is anyway to move the party to the beach because it is pitch black. And I believe that they say receptions have to end by 11pm. Meaning, they will have already torn down the reception set up, lighting, bar staff, servers, etc. The only bar that would be open after this time would be Desires or the lobby bar. All the beach bars are closed at 6pm.
  4. Eva actually quoted me $60 for the bouquets and then Lorena came back and told me $80 but because she had already told me $60 they honored it. Even $80 I felt was a good price for the quality of our bouquets. We did have Maya 22. I really do think they are very inconsistent with prices. I just found the email I exchanged with Lorena: Maya 24 - but with pink and orange flowers the cost is $85 usd + tax Maya 33 - but with pink and orange flowers the cost is $80 usd + tax Maya 22 - but with hot pink flowers instead of the light pink. the cost is $60 usd + tax I will say this though... I feel like we got ALOT for the money we paid. Everything that we did there would have been over $20,000 here in Houston and we got out for right at $8,000 in Mexico. We took a lot of stuff with us and they didn't charge us to do any of it! I mean they could have charged for decorating the tables with our own decorations, tying our chair sashes we brought, etc. And the lighting.... those guys have to go out there and dig deep holes and run electricity to those poles. So, the $150 for the bamboo poles seemed like a very reasonable price. You will see when you get there how hard everyone works and really how reasonable the prices are for it.
  5. 1. As long as the sun is up, there will be a crowd at the pool. There is no way around it. If you're getting married at the gazebo, you will definitely have onlookers. Even once it gets completely dark, there are still people in the pool. We had our reception on the pool deck and it was completely dark already and there were people in the infinity pool leaning over watching the reception. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=923 Here is a good website the photographer sent me to go off of. 2. I'm pretty sure the latest they go is 11. The only other option is moving to Desires, the dance club. 5. I used Anel from Adventure Photos and she was fantastic. Here is the link to our wedding and TTD slideshow. Hope this helps!
  6. they can but they charge you per room. I also heard from a previous bride that it didn't work out that great for them because some of them didn't get delivered until late in the day or even the next day. We handed out all of our OOT bags ourselves.
  7. For those of you who have already gotten married or haven't gotten married and know the answer... Do you know how to use our free honeymoon nights? Do we have to call the hotel directly to book them or could we go through a TA? Also, do we have to use them at DRC? Or can we use them at any Dreams? Yes I'm already thinking about my next trip in December
  8. I know you said you thought it was outside the French restaurant but the entrance to the French restaurant is in the lobby by El Patio. Unless it's around back?? I think someone earlier said it was outside the back door of Desires. But honestly, I have no clue!
  9. thank you! I brought my own ribbon and brought pictures of how I wanted it (the ballet style i think it's called). If you want something specific I would bring your own ribbon. Then you know it will match. I brought ribbon for our bouts and corsages too and they didn't use it and they used some I didn't really like, but it was ok. The bouquets were most important and they got that right!
  10. Emily - I think Ashley answered most of your questions but wanted to weight in on a few of them too! You can def use the flowers! They actualy put the tall vases on our cake table without us asking so I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to use them as your centerpieces. I would just make sure to take a few group shots with them then hand them over to Jorge (or whoever is there with you) to put on the tables. I thought I only paid $15 for the lights under the tables but I could be wrong... they weren't more than $30 though. I loved the way it looked and really added a lot of light! For the video, I would make sure to tell Lorena ahead of time if you are going to use the videographer for the whole time. $5000 seems like a lot of money for the quality of video.... I mean, I loved our video but I loved it so much because it was included. haha. If i would have paid $5000 for it i probably wouldn't have been so thrilled with it. But if you are going to go with someone else, I think you would have to let them know before you arrive. They have everything alcohol wise!! Just ask!! My husband was worried about that too, but they literally have everything you could want! I definitely woudn't pay to upgrade the bar. Hope this helps!!
  11. The first picture with the tall white tables is the area I was talking about. But because I didn't have my events there, I'm not sure of the name of it. (i just assumed it was called Desires Terrace because it's right outside Desires). Right up the small flight of stairs is the door of the italian restaurant and the back door of the mexican restaurant, right below is the japanese restaurant and to the right is the entrance to the wedding office, Desires Lounge and all the ballrooms. I have no idea where that second picture is.... Unless it's back on the other side and we just didn't walk around that far.
  12. we had our reception on the pool deck with 35 people so I would inquire again about this unless they have changed the rules.
  13. All the restaurants are right next to Desires Lounge so I think they are the same thing...?? The terrace is outside the building with all the restaurants and the Desires club
  14. Lorena - $100 Anel - $100 DJ - $50 videographer - $50 Linda (minister) - $50 and I think my step dad gave all the waiters $20 at the reception
  15. I put charms on my bouquet of our 3 cats and we also had pictures framed of them on our cake table. http://171212ryan.dreamsriveriacancun.adventurephotos.com.mx/#/ryan-1/ Here is our wedding slideshow where you can see some of the pictures of it.
  16. Yes, with the ultimate package you get a flower arrangement for the ceremony table and the head table at the reception. They will move the flower arrangement from the ceremony to the reception so just tell them you want it to be the same as the reception flowers. We didn't have a head table, we just had 5 regular tables so we only had to pay for 3 centerpieces which was nice. Oh and if anyone is wondering about our centerpieces and price - they were only $60.
  17. The standard reception is 3 hours and the dinner is during that time. It is up to you and your guests how long it is.
  18. Unfortunately they charge by picture and it's super expensive!! I can't remember the price per picture but we ended up paying for 50 extra pictures and it was $495. And that was a "discount". Santiago was in the photo place helping us that day and we negotiated with him and got him down to that much. I think we started at around $700. He said the more you buy the bigger the discount they can give you. So, in my opinion, it's worth it to go with some of the higher packages so you get more pictures instead of having to buy them later on. Especially if you are doing the TTD! I think Anel ended up taking almost 600 pics of us so we had to cut it down quite a bit!
  19. yes, it was real! My moms was real too. It was a last minute decision to get a real one. I had a flower that matched the one on my dress but decided once we got there to get a real one. My only complaint was that it was HUGE! I couldn't wear it on the side i wanted to.
