We put a pretend deadline on our information We gave them a full month of guaranteed rates and told them we wouldn't know how prices would change after the deadline. So far, it's worked out great!! Of course, we do know how prices will change....but we figured all they needed to do in order to book was a $150 deposit per person, so we pushed them to just get that done!

We are expecting about 40 people....I never thought so many people would be able to make it! Tomorrow it'll officially be just one year away! Time is going to FLY!!!!! We now have 24 people booked, it's so fun getting the update from our TA at the end of each day with who booked!

Hi All, I am getting married at Sandals Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios on April 12, 2013 although still a year away I am looking for some details on what people did for their receptions. We already have 20 people booked and it's looking like we'll have about 40 people total. I was originally wanting to do the 2 hour private reception with the plated dinner, but i'm starting to think about how much money that will be. What did you ladies do for your reception? How many people did you have go? I guess I would also like to do the first dance with my FI, the mother son dance, father daughter dance....but am wondering if it's worth a DJ for that stuff? Any insight or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Katie

Hi All! I too am a newbie! My FI and I are getting married at the Sandals Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on April 12, 2013. We are SUPER excited. We have just gotten our Save the Dates and pricing out to our guests! Besides that we really haven't done much, i've tried on dresses but am no 100% on that decision yet! Best of luck to all the new brides!

Here is a picture of my wedding dress for our Jamaica wedding! I had originally wanted a train but have decided to do a long veil instead....I wanted something dragging in the sand! This dress fits me perfectly, doesn't need to be hemmed or anything, so i'm buying it right off the rack and just going to get cups sewn in and call it good! I didn't get a good picture of the detailing on the bodice part, but it's a very pretty flower detail...I love it!

Hi All, I have just booked our wedding date and my FI and I's room reservations for the Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios. I would love to get any feedback, advice or information from brides that have recently been married there. I would also like to see if there are any other brides getting married close to April 12, 2013 at the same resort! I have been given a US based wedding planner, and don't speak with her until June which i'm okay with...but would really just love some advice/pics on private receptions. We are planning on having around 25 people and want to do the 3 hour private reception with a sort of DJ so we can do some of the formalities--I've priced it out but just want to see what other people have done.
