  1. Hey MissBubles! My invites will be cymbidium orchid themed boarding passes. Regarding the magnets, I will be purchasing them from vistaprint. You can can customize them anyway you want. I'll be uploading my wedding logo: http://www.vistaprint.com/custom-magnets-multi.aspx?txi=204&xnid=VisitorHomePage204_202_131&xnav=TeaserItem Quote: Originally Posted by MissBubbles205 I too am getting married May 2013!! ) What kind of invites are you doing? 2. He have opted not to do STD invites and will only send out formal invites 10 months prior to our wedding date. However, we will include a wedding date reminder (STD) magnet with our formal invitations. Since we are also putting together a wedding website, sending STDs just seemed like an unnecessary expense since we have a total of +/- 25 guests. Even though most haven’t committed the exact date to memory, they’re all well aware that we are getting married in May of 2013. Our RSVP is in February of 2013 which correlates with the date when we can cancel rooms in our room block without penalty.
  3. MrsTGun, Shay and anyone happy with their color printers: Can you ladies please provide the specs for your printers? I'm in the market for a new printer and may as well get one that I can use for my upcoming DIY projects....Thanks!
  4. My wedding date is May 18, 2013 and I have already secured my room block at Now Jade. My TA was able to block and honor prices based on 2012 group rates. This was a relief because I was also concerned about incurring escalated pricing once 2013 rates were published (which can be released as early as April or May of 2012). I don’t know if policies vary from one resort to another or if you should consider changing your TA. But I know that I could have blocked rooms based on 2012 rates at any of the 4 resorts that I was initially considering and I started inquiring at the end of January 2012. However, these were all AM resorts, so maybe that has something to do with it. Best of Luck, let me know if you have any other questions.
  5. has the webinar actually started, I've been looged in for 15 min now... just wondering if I'm having tech difficulties
  6. This style is in my 'Wedding Hair' pic folder, and I'm stronlgy leaning towards it. And thanks to hair extensions, I think I can pull it off perfectly!
  7. Hey justineheart, Agreed, the chartreuse in the last bouquet is a bit overpowering. That’s a great broach bouquet inspiration. I love all the varying accents and I think the that oversized pearls/ jewels and cameos are a great touch.
  8. My colors are chartreuse and plum. I definitely want a bouquet that is saturated in rich, vibrant color without looking like a fall wedding theme. These are the bouquets that have caught my attention so far and I would just want to incorporate green cymbidium orchids since they are my favorite flower and the inspiration for my color choice:
  9. I agree with how other ladies have responded and I’m among those who will be relocating and spending 4 nights on our own. I don't think it's rude and I think you would regret not taking the time for yourselves if you choose not to.
  10. Am I the only one who plans on having the legal formality after the destination wedding? We were concerned that if we conducted the legal ceremony prior, then it would take away emotionally from the destination wedding ceremony. Any thoughts on this?
  11. I love the shot glass with limes for placeholders... I think I'm might borrow this idea
  12. Our original budget was $12K, but if you ask my Fi he would say it was $6K; he had unrealistic expectations of what things would cost. Example, he thought he would be able to find his wedding band for $300-$500, which he did, but he hated all of them and now we’re going custom. And it wasn’t until we started getting quotes that he understood why I had such a large allocation for photography. Anyway, our final budget will be somewhere between $13K - $14K which includes our accommodations (10 nights), airfare, wedding rings, attire (including alterations, shoes, accessories), photography, wedding package for +/- 25 guests at an AI, and $1K towards miscellaneous expenses (décor, invites, OOT?, upgrades, etc.). For items that we have yet to purchase, we have taken high estimates and we’re confident that we won’t exceed $14K. Cost for our guest will be +/- $1,600 pp for 7 nights.
  13. +1... I support clean eating 110%. But to sustain results, you have to look at this a lifestyle not a diet. The benefits go beyond your waste line. Additionally, I would incorporate weight training into your diet. This has a much higher impact on metabolism than just cardio alone. And don't worry you won't bulk up and look like a man. Just remember high reps and low weight. Best of luck!
  14. My Fi and I loved the idea of a cash registry. Simpleregistry.com is the site we'll be using.
  15. Hey there! I can definitely relate… I too loved the boarding pass invites, but didn’t want to pay the premium for a professional custom design. While I was intrigued by the DIY idea, I tend to obsess over details and didn’t want my invites to look like an elementary school art project. But after looking through dozens of successful projects on this site, I was finally encouraged. I admit, I’m on my 4th boarding pass design, but this one is a definite winner (the first 3 design were subpar). Anyway, I’m now 100% committed to this project and have started to purchase my supplies and I have oodles of samples on the way of pearlescent/metallic cardstock, satin ribbon and pearlescent and matte raffia ribbon etc. If you have the time, I would suggest dabbling around with design ideas and see what you think. Good luck!
  16. MissBubbles, have you seen the 'show us your rings!' thread? Lots of eye candy!
  17. I'm a fan of dress #3 the lace and chiffon. Have you had the opportunity to try any of these styles on? They're quite different from one another both in silhouette and material.
  18. These look fantastic. Approximately how long did it take you to finish the bling on the topper?
