  1. So true, not many people realize that when you breakdwon the factors that dirctly impact your weight/physique it comes out to 80% diet, 10% gym and 10% genes. Granted I still see the inside of a gym 5 days a week for weight training, but this is secondary to my diet. Kudos to you and all your effort! 2. I know you didn't direct this question to me but I found the following site to be helpful and accurate. I have been to the RM twcie and used this webiste to catch the sunrise. Looks like the sunt set on 04/26/13 is 7:11pm http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=923&month=4&year=2013&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1
  3. Wanted to add that I am happy to see another May 2103 Now Jade Bride... Congrats!
  4. My Fi and I selected the Eternity package for our +/- 25 guests and we think this will be perfect for us. We didn't see any benefit (for us personally) in the higher level package. We will be adding a bit of decor, but this will all be furnished by us and I have spoken to Pialr and the set-up fees will be minimal. 5. Hey Rosie, welcome to BDW! You will love this forum. It's a great DW resource, and all the ladies (and some gents) are super friendly and willing to share their experience and knowledge. You definitely have plenty of options in the Riviera May if an AI isn't your thing... Beach Clubs: Grand Coral, Blue Venado, Ana y Jose, Zama Beach & Lounge (Isla Mujeres) etc; Villa(s): Hacienda Caracol, Casa Yardena etc; And even small boutique places that you can take over with your guests: Le Reve Hotel & Spa. There are also local planners who can help you scout out the right venue that will perfectly fit you needs and style...Happy Planning!
  6. More often than not, I have left make-up consultations feeling dissatisfied with the end reult. I refuse to let this happen on my wedding day, which is why I will be doing my own make-up. I am no guru when it comes to make-up, I honestly hardly ever wear the stuff. But I am greatful for posts like these that make me confident that I can achieve a flawless look on my wedding day, even if it takes multiple trial applications...good thing I have 13 months to practice! On that note...try your best to avoid any foundation that contains a mineral sunscreen (titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide) as this will result in the same problems in flash photography. Also be careful with your face moisturizers or any sunscreens you wear on your face with a high spf. I know we all want to protect ourselves ESPECIALLY because were getting married in the tropical heat...but you dont want to sacrifice your photos either! I highly recomend the makeup forever HD (for dry to normal skin) or makeup forever matte velvet foundations for photography....and ALWAYS use a primer...primer for everything...face primer and eyelid primer! Smashbox photofinish is a good choice for the face! they have a small travel sized option (which is actually a good size) at sephora for like $10-15 if you dont plan on using it past your wedding day! Too Faced or Urban Decay make great eye makeup primers. I definatly reccomend buying your makeup at Sephora and testing out your makeup in different lighting and using flash at home. Sephora has a great return policy if something doesnt work out for you. Good luck and congrats!
  7. Nice job, finleya! I think it's nice to keep options open and I actaully think there's a benefit to having two monograms: One with a length to width ratio of 1:1 and the other 1:2. Dependent on where you put then, one ratio may look better than the other. With that said I really like options 2 and 3. On a general note, I feel that the palms and font used in options 1, 2, and 4 are dressier/more formal. I don't know if this matter to you, but it's just an observation. And I like that monograms 1 and 2 tie the destination location into the design.
  8. Nice score, sunshine... Just when I thought I found everything I wanted off of Etsy, i found more item to investigate.
  9. I think you are options are really open here. I’ve seena lot of different combinations that I think work nicely. Maybe a few important question to ask might be: are you getting married in the sand? How formal or informal do you want your wedding to be? What are your groomsmen wearing, is coordination in footwear a requirement? My Fi will also be wearing a linen suit, and he’s torn between wearing these cognac leather chuck taylors that he found and loves or purchasing a nice pair of dark brown leather thong sandals. I think Sperry’s will work nicely. Have you had a chance to see the whole look put together? If not, this might help you decide.
  10. OMG, great minds think alike. I love convertible dresses and decided on them a couple of weeks ago. I never heard of Henkaa. When I first started looking I found TwoBirds, but they were pretty pricey ($250+) but wanted to keep cost low for all involved and found some great sellers on Etsy. I will be ordering from one of the following do to their color selections: MuseBridalBoutique, StraathofDesign and cynrgyarts. I know that StraathofDesign has more colors available then what they show in their listings, but maybe one of these sellers can be a good option for you if you haven't found dresses for your girls yet. This so isn't RSVP related...sorry for the digression, I got a little excited!
  11. LOL… I guess I could have said green and purple, but I like to be descriptive! Onto the RSVP…FYI, I don’t know if you have a Michaels in your area, or what the current promotion might be, but my local store is offering 40% of all paper trimmers and punches. Love the hibiscus trio, it sits in the corner nicely! Good call on increasing the RSVP font size, it has better proportions (at least I think it’s bigger? It stands out more) And I hate that I didn’t mention this prior to your reprint, but for alignment I wonder if “Number Attending†should be reformatted. I like it when things line up (annoyingly so, just ask my Fi) Number Attending: ____ Children (ages 2-12) ____ Adults It’s looking good, MissBubbles! Have you designed your invites yet. I would love to see the complete package
  12. Definitely double check your reservations terms with your TA. Setting the RSVP for the 50% second deposit just seemed logical for us. We actually have until 03/03/13 to cancel rooms in our block without penalty and this was our original RSVP date. The Fi and I go back and forth on this one; we have a couple of friends who are notorious last minute planners. But we didn't want to wait that long to receive RSVPs since it would only give us 10 week to finalize our plans and I hate being rushed. And we want to delive/mail our pre-travel brochures and OOT goodies 6-8 week prior to our wedding (we don't want to deal with the hassle of bringing all the OOT contents to the resort).
  13. I too noticed that we both have wedding dates in May 2013; it’s going to be fun watching our wedding plans evolve! My favorite flower is a green cymbidium orchid and this quickly became my inspiration for my color scheme… chartreuse and sangria. However, I’m beginning to think that coordinating a wedding with these specific colors might be more of a challenge than I anticipated.
  14. STD: NA -This wasn't a justifiable expense for our guestlist of +/- 25. We communicate regualalry with those we are inviting and everyone is well aware that May 2013 is when we're getting married Invites: Will be sent sometime in July of 2012 (10 months prior to wedding date) RSVP by: January 15, 2013 - 50% of the total reservation cost is due at this time, and we would be responsible for cost for any rooms in our block that haven't been reserved by guest. We will not pay this, so our RSVP date coincides with the date when we will cancel any rooms in our block that guests have not reserved. Wedding Day: May 18, 2013 - The 6th year anniversary of our first date... Can't wait!
  15. Hey There! I love Italian!. I say do whatever feels right. That's the beauty of DW's, they're untraditional and it's all about fitting the personalities and desire of the couple! I’m excited to see your new RSVP design. And no, I haven't posted my invites yet, I haven't even done a test print, but maybe I should find the time this weekend. I haven't even looked at them in a week. I wanted to make sure that when I see them again, that I have a discerning eye an am 100% confident that I love them. This is actually my fourth attempt at designing my invites, and I think it's made me a bit gun-shy. But I think a test print will help solidify my design. Then I can finally commit to my cardstock and ribbon color selections from the dozens of samples that I've accumulated over the past month... Who knew there would be so many white metallic/pearlescent cardstock options.
  16. No luck sunshine, maybe you can take Dominique up on her offer... Good luck.
  17. I think this is up to your perosnal preference, but I only used the two blank lines and I'm hoping that my guest will fill it out correctly. I also adressed this in greater detail on my wedding webiste, so hopefully this will clear any confusion. But on my paper RSVP, I also have a count for entre meal selction (Vegetarian, Fish, Beef) and I didn't want my RSVP to become too cluttered.
  18. Hey cnd! I love the surpirse diamonds, I think it gives our rings a little something extra. I think your wedding band will accent your e-ring beautifully! I've actually narrowed my choices down to two options, both are full eternities - either vertically set baguettes in a thin channel setting (4th from top) or alternating bar set round and baguettes (5th from top). The surprise diamond result in a tiny gap between the two rings, but I'm actually a fan of gaps. I was mostly concerned with making sure the the profile heights are with .5mm of each other, and that was difficult to find.
  19. I'm actaully making a field trip to my local Michael's tonight, I've seen a few a couple of weeks ago... I'll keep my eyes open and let you know.
  20. Hmm... even though it's minimal, I think it's a waste of ink to print 'place stamp here' if you're going to provide postage. On another note, I thing I did was add the ages for what classified a child at my resort. The age group tend to vary from one resort to another i.e. at my resorts children pricing is based on an age of 2-12, but the average person would consider a 14 year old a child. Just a though, since this distinction might impact your total costs. Number Attending: Adults_____ Children (ages 2-12)____
  21. Hey Miss Bubbles. These will looks awesome on pearlescent cardstock. I definitely understand your frustration regarding background images. I ran into the same problem with my orchid themed boarding pass invites, but I finally figured it out (in MS word version 2010 anyway). Hopefully this make sense: make sure you format all of your images to be "behind text". Also your text has be to inserted in a text box in order to select teh proper formatting options. Once you create a text box, make the fill color white, and set the transparency to 20% to 50% (this is a matter of personal preference and image/font colors being used). If you still have questions let me know.
  22. +1... there's no rule book. Do whatever will be comfortable for the two of you.
