  1. Yay, I'm so excited for this thread! I can't wait to watch everyones plans evolve over the next 13 months.
  2. Hey Shan, It depends on the website but they typically come in packs of 25, 50 or 100 sheets and you’re only required to purchase 1 pack. Price will be determined by the type of cardstock (color, weight finish), but they typically range from $8.99 to 29.99 plus S&H. I have actually purchased a lot of my metallic cardstock from Michaels. I waited for their 5 for $1 sale and used a 20% off entire purchase coupon which is by far the cheapest price that I’ve found ($.16/sheet), and they were actually in the colors I wanted. I totally cleaned them out (went to two Michaels), and probably purchased more than I needed, but I have 60 days to figure it out and make return as I deem necessary.
  3. I love your Día de los Muertos wedding cake topper. My Fi has shares the same sentiments as yours and has actualy purchased a similar topper for our wedding day. Thanks for sharing, everything is so tasteful and perfectly executed.
  4. May 18, 2013 - the 6th year anniversary of our first date...Only 403 days to go! Now jade Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, Puerto Morelos, MX
  5. Kudos to you for coordinating a beautiful and perfectly pink wedding. I definitely got a couple of good ideas from reading your thread. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Without hesitation, Breakfast at Tiffany's and I'll never understand why this movie is often classified as a comdey.
  7. Good call on the bluberry press, but only if it's Stoli, Smirnoff is no bueno. I'm actually a tequilla girl though and typically go for a guava margarita on the rocks or a cadilac margarita. And i love Agaverro on the rocks.
  8. post 133 and counting. I'm so close but it still feels so far away (sigh).
  9. My Fi is 9 years my senior; he's 36 and I'm 27.
  10. Ugh, I so feel your pain. It's been an up hill battle for my search of the perfect pair of chartreuse shoes. I didn't think that finding my wedding shoes would be so difficult. Good lock with your search.
  11. You won't be able to download attachments until you've contributed 150 posts to the forums.
  12. While I have gleaned insight and inspiration from many BDW brides, it’s threads like these that truly amaze me . Thanks for sharing and congrats on your upcoming nuptials. And by the way, you look stunning in the LZ3050.
  13. First Note: You were a gorgeous bride! Second Note: I am beyond amazed with how well you executed your vision for your wedding. I committed to reading all 60+ pages of this thread over the past week and I’m in total awe of the care and consideration that you put into every detail. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and ideas. Potentially to my Fiancé’s dismay, my DIY to do list has just grown.
  14. Definitely not tacky, I think it's personal and thoughtful. If it’s any consolation, I will be my OOT bags with my Pre-Travel Packages and delivering/shipping 6 weeks prior to travel. I think my guest will benefit from having this before they depart as they purchase/plan their packing needs. And to be honest, I have zero interest in lugging all this stuff with me to Mexico. I will already have my hands full with my dress, décor and miscellaneous items. Shipping your OOT 2 weeks prior sounds a bit risky. I would be concerned that they would get held up in customs.
  15. Nice job, I really like this. I think the location and date should be a bit larger though.
  16. Definitely good to know, thank you. I'll have to add this to my list of follow-up items to be addressed at a later date.
  17. What a great idea for a thread, I'm surprised that this thread doesn't already exist. My favorite flower is a green cymbidium orchid and this quickly became the inspirations for my theme and wedding colors which are chartreuse and sangria. But I must admit it’s been a bit difficult to find items in the exact colors that I’m looking for.
  18. Thanks for sharing. As of now my ceremony will start at 5:00, 1st toast and group photos at 5:30, cocktails at 6:00 and recep at 7:00. I just want to make sure that I get sweet photos as the sun sets and I'm concerned that I may be cutting our newly wed shots a bit short if the recep starts at 7:00 and the sunset is around 7:20. But I guess this is a question best answered by my photographer once I settle on one
  19. Thanks for your insight LadyDi! I'll have to update my budget to capture wedding day tipping! You and my Fi are definitely right about photography. It's definitely too important of a detail. Considering the overall photography cost the tip is so minuscule, that it would be foolish not to just give it up front.
  20. kitkat - do mind sharing your tentative timeline for the remainder of the evening ie photos, cocktail hour and reception.
  21. I happy that you started this thread. My Fi asked me all of these questions last night, so I am hoping to see a few responses. He is expecting to tip just about every and anybody involved, but I'm not sure what etiquette calls for. I'm really curious as to how couples have handled the photographer. I can't justify tipping the photographer until after I've seen my photos (6 weeks post wedding). My Fi thinks that if we tip them before they even get started, that it might encourage them to work even hard to get the those perfect shots, they might take more care with touching-up photos and it may result in a quicker turnaround time. These are all valid arguments, but I feel that I already paid a high premium to contract a photographer and their services and tipping should be a reflection of our satisfaction and the photographer's overall performance... thoughts?
