  1. I think this option might work. My only concern is if people pick up their maracas "shake for a kiss" and put them down with the entree selection face down, or two maracas end up between two plates, than the servers may momentarily question who gets what. Not a huge issue, and it should be a quick easy clarification, but just something to think about.
  2. Hmmm, this is good info. I actually assumed that the opposite would happen (most would reply electronically), probably because the only thing I mail out are boxes/packages and I do everything on the internet. And I assumed that it was a big commitment and people would put the invite aside and potentionally lose the RSVP card. Maybe I should revise my RSVP card to include the entree selection. My fear was the the RSVP card would become to cluttered (attending or not, # of guest, 4 entree selections, 1 veg, and allergy notes) but maybe if I play arounnd with the layout I might be able to make something work.
  3. I haven’t given much thought to the design of the placecard but they will include the guest name and entrée selection. As far as set-up I will have the placecards arranged on a table and have some kind of signage directing guest with how to proceed with their seat selection. I will include a RSVP card with my invite - I have a few guest that are older and don’t use smart phones or have personal computers. However, my RSVP cards only request whether or not a guest(s) will be attending and I have a little blurb providing an option to RSVP through our wedding website and to choose their entrée selections. A bit redundant, but I’m trying to make thing easy for my guests to RSVP by giving them options. I care more about whether or not they are attending than what they want to eat. If a guest doesn’t select a preferred entree, than I will have a default option. I still thinking all of this through, but this is what I’ve come up with so far. Let me know what you think or if you come up with a more streamlined way to approach this.
  4. I don't know the answer, but Just a quick comment/word of caution... I don't know what your total guest count is, but when I asked Pilar if there was any limitations to the number of outside guests, she told me that 80% percent of my total guest count had to stay at the resort. I don't know how set in stone this requirement is but it's something to keep in mind if you expect less than 50 or 60 guests.
  5. I think these are typically referred to vow renewal packages and with some tweaking, this would probably suite your needs best... Good luck with your planning
  6. Welcome mrsreimonenq and congrats on your engagement!
  7. What about Peonies? Although I don't know if they would be in season either but I love them.
  8. Purchased on sale from Coldwater Creek. But it's an online exclusive, so you don't have the benefit of trying it on in stores. Happy Shopping! http://www.coldwatercreek.com/product-detail/60870/67471/vivacious-ruffled-dress.aspx?refLink=toprated.aspx
  9. Looking for a bit of input as to how many hours I should book my photographer for a TTD. If it matters, we're planning on a sunrise shoot. Thanks!
  10. shanandcal - afloral.com and save-on-crafts.com seem to be pretty popular, but the flower selection is limited compared to what is available in the wholesale market. I would have done DIY bouquets, but I couldn't find all of the flowers that I wanted, so I went with Bloombridal instead. Good luck with your DIY, I'll keep an eye out for your final project!
  11. Thanks for the reply. Now I'm just more curious as to how this works, but I don't know if I want to just leave it to chance. I don't want to assume that it will go as smoothly for me as it did for you. 12. I picked dresses for both my mom and for my future mother-in-law. My mom doesn't trust her own judgement and my Fi thought it would be a good bonding experience for his mom and me and he thinks her taste in fashion can use a bit of help. For my mom: Mother-in-Law
  13. Hey Allie, I have not found it advantageous to pursue airline group rates especially since I have a small group flying from 6 different airports and on different carriers. While I have been stalking airfare to get a sense of pricing, we don’t anticipate purchasing airfare until September. Gas prices tend to drop around this time which will likely impact airfare (hopefully lower). And I’ve always heard that the best time to purchase international airfare is 6-8 months prior to your trip and based on my experience this seems to be accurate.
  14. Hey ladies, I’m looking for a bit of clarification/insight regarding entrée selections and seating. I want to be able to provide my guests with the option to choose their entrée’ s but I don’t want to coordinate assigned seating. My guest count is +/- 25 and I plan on having a long table set-up. What is the best approach for this scenario without accruing added cost from the resort? Do I just provide Pilar with quantities per entrée selection and create placecards with the guests name and entrée selection and direct them to choose a seat and place it on their plates? Is this acceptable? I'm open to suggestions.
  15. Houstonnlh - Welcome to BDW and the May2013 thread... Happy Planning!
  16. I love your bouquet, I'm in the midst of finalizing my order with BloomBridal and seeing your pic is making me even more confident with my decision. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Kudos to you! Toning up and losing inches are the the two indicators that you should care about and pay attention to....The scale can be your worst enemy when your "trying to lose weight". If you're toning up and losing inches, it means that you're losing/burning fat and gaining lean muscle which is exactly what you want. Your just losing fat and gaining lean muscle at the same rate, hence why your weight is the same. Keep up the great work!
  18. I do recal reading that the Govenor Suite is specifically excluded from free upgrades. I don't remember the source, but maybe some of the other Now Jade brides will know and chime in.
  19. Yay, dress shopping. That should be a fun experience for you. I can't wait to see the one that steals your heart Now is the perfect time to buy new summer attire, I've already started stocking up on new bikinis and sun-dresses. I know they won't be on sale if I wait until 2013 to buy them. We purchased a 3 piece linen suit for my Fi and 2 piece suit (vest and pants) for his Best Man. They're natural in color with a subtle herringbone pattern and we purchased them at 60% off which was a great deal. He hasn't figured out what he wants for footwear but that's a detail that I'm not worried about.
  20. Not too much at the moment, I feel pretty ahead of the curve right now. I’ve been focused on getting back into my fitness/healthy lifestyle routine with a goal to start start strength training in August if not sooner. What’s next on your plate?
  21. It's a green cymbidium orchid. I love them, they're my favorite flower and the inspiration for my color scheme. I incorparted them into the design of my invites and I'll also use them for floating orchid & candle centerpieces and in my bouquet.
  22. FYI, there actually is a forum for this: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/33228/post-your-inspiration-board Regarless, I love you color scheme and peacock theme Noelle. And just for kicks, I'll post the one that I created as well. My colors are chartreuse and sangria....
