  1. You make this seem so easy, I'm jealous. My Fi is being so indecisive. we've bought 2 suits, 3 shirts and 3 ties and he still isn't content with any of his options. And to top it off, he's decided that he really doesn't like our wedding colors, and he will only incorporate them into his outfit via necktie, which is fine, but where was your opinion when I inquired multiple times months back… UGH Who knew this would turn out to be the most difficult component in my wedding planning. Sorry, just had to vent a little.
  2. Wohoo... Congrats on saying yes to the dress, Britney! You look fantastic in this and you're totally glowing. Congrats Alexis! I didn't see the first two, but I definitely love this one. It's sexy and sophisticated, what a great find.
  3. I know this wasn't directed at me, but I have been to Xcaret and loved it. Xel-Ha is also another great place to go and also offers swim with the dolphines through the Delphinus (the company that Matt mentioned). They both great venues in their own way.
  4. Agreed. My rate are the same as yours and I secured my 2012 group rates in April. I think the 2013 rates published in Mid-May or June

It's definitely not too late to for a May 2013 wedding, but finiding a venue and confirming the date is of utmost importance. Everything else will easily fall into place once this is done. You also want to ensure that you give your guests enough time to plan and save. But there are plenty of BDW brides who have planened beautiful wedding within a 6-9 month time frame. Good luck, and let us know if you have any questions.

I just had to read through so many posts to catch up My wedding dress appointment is made, but now I am worried I am a little behind because it seems like so many of you have found yours already. I am SO in love with Maggie Sottero as well. I wanted to keep it around $1000, but it seems like she is more around $1500. What have you girls budgeted? Miss Bubbles, my diet is SO back and forth- def been doing good, but I work super late and had to do a McDonalds run late night so after I read your post the other day I didn't feel so guilty I am working on getting my dress and the girls. I think I am deciding on a sapphire blue dresses and have each girl pick their own style. Are you girls doing shoes, barefoot???? I am torn. I like barefoot idea, but the the silly part of me wants an excuse to find some cute heels! HELP ME!!! Hey Chica! Fear not, you're right on schedule. If anything, most of us are just earlier planners an ahead of shcedule. Regarding the dress, If you're open to buying a sample, looking at dresses that are +/- 25% over budget is acceptable since most samples are discounted between 20%-50%. Also, there are quite a few websites that cater to selling new, used and sample dress. These are definitely worth checking out. Unfortunately there are a lot of brides who have bought a dress, had their weddings canceled and now need to sell them that utilize these websites. Good Luck and be encouraged. You will find the dress that makes your heart sing. I have purchased shoes, it was a wedding day necessity for me. But I’m also not getting married in the sand. Even if I were, I would want a hot pair of shoes for the reception and photo opps. But they’re aren’t convential wedding shoes. They’re versatile enough to wear for future formal events, so I’m happy with the purchase.

  8. It's unfortunate how many people are misinformed when it come to safety in Mexico, especially the tourist areas were most of us have our weddings. I think some people just look fopr an excuse not to go and the violence in Mexico is an easy cop out. Fortunately I didn't have this problem with any of my guests. My Fi and I have been to Mexico twice in the past 4 years and our friends and family trust our judgment and know that we wouldn't put them in harms way. Those who may have been skeptics did some research and have relieved their own concerns. I think the best thing that you can do is try to educate your guests and direct them to current safety advisories for the country. Best of Luck.
  9. Perfect, I'm happy everything worked out and that it was an easy fix. Let me know if you need anything else...Happy Planning!
  10. Hey Court! Welcome to the May 2013 thread; it's never too late to join us. It looks like you've got a great start and you're on par with the rest of us. I can't wait to see how the rest of you planning unfolds.

I checked back today and didn't see her or responses to the recent feedback on tripadvisor, but at least its on her radar. Since I never left a review from my own visit, I took the time today to leave a positive one based again on my own experience. Thought I should give back with my own feedback to help other guests quell their concerns. My experience was great and I'm looking forward to having that again for my own wedding in April. As always, as brides have their weddings or visits at Now Jade, please let us know how and your guests experience was. Always comforting to hear good things!!! Overall, I feel like things will turn out wonderfully for all of us. I’m glad you were able to connect with Olivia and that your concerns were well received and will be and passed along to the proper channels. I’ve been corresponding with my TA this morning and raised a few of my concerns which will be forwarded to management . It makes me feel better knowing that I’m doing what I can to ensure a positive experience for all involved. And it might not have been necessary, but it can’t hurt either.
  12. Ribbon, no question. I never thought I'd be so excited over someone elses invites, but I am! Are you going to round the corners?
  13. Caroline, Thanks for taking the time to write this, you definitely gave me food for thought. I think I will start sending emails to give Now Jade a gentle nudge. I'll keep you posteed with any feedback that I receive
  14. I would send an email directly to the wedding coordinator at Now Jade and ask what the difference is and maybe ask for copies of the scripts that are used. [email protected]
  15. Thanks for your replies, Mlite and Shannonmarie. I just need to stop reading reviews at this point. Shannonmarie, I think your right. People are definitely more apt to leave a negative review than a positive one. I unfortunately fall victim to this. I’m not really concerned about the wedding, I think it will turn out beautifully. I’m more worried about my family and friends that will be making a huge financial commitment. I don’t want them to be dissatisfied with their vacation/resort accommodations. I just have to trust my judgment, there’s a reason why I picked Now Jade to begin with.
  16. Does any frequent tripadvisor.com as much as I do? Since January I have been diligently reading reviews on Now Jade on a weekly/semi-weekly basis, but have become concerned over the past month with the number of negative reviews that I’ve been reading. I read every review with a grain of salt. I know that some people are impossible to please, while others can be too easily impressed. However, there are more and more negative reviews that are a bit unsettling. Chance are, if these reviews were posted when I choosing a resort, I might have been leary to book my wedding here. I don’t mean to put anyone on edge, I guess I’m just hoping for a bit of reassurance.
  17. Susannah, Welcome to BDW and congrats on your engagement. I am also a Now Jade bride getting married on May 18, 2013. The link below are to two threads that you may find helpful. 18. I went on a field trip to Nordtrom last night and finalized my jewelry selection for the big day! They're super sparkly and I love both pieces. And even better, I'll be able to reuse these items for future holiday/formal events.

I'll have to send you one since they wouldn't exsist without you!! I was iffy on how they would look when printed, but now I def want to show them off everywhere. I got a few those are Awesome from 2 ladies, and one man at Hobby Lobby. I bought a hole punch and orange ribbon, thinking of using this rather than the staples.. I would love to get one. I would totally put it on my fridge and save it for a keepsake! Hmmm, I like the ribbon idea. But I think the staples would keep the pages nice and secure, so maybe use both? Wow that was easy, I think it's a sign! The electronic world is a great place. It almost wouldn't matter that I'm in Oregon or your in Georgia/Alabama
