  1. If you get your letters from CraftsCuts how will you support them so they stand in the cake? Good call on on confirming cake size with your WC, I should probably do the same. I've actaully been contemplating doing a 5" or 6" topper with 3" or 4" "J' and 'T' letters. But again, I should check the cake size first, but maybe I can put our initials on a lower cake tier.
  2. Hey Chica... I think a 5" or 6" topper is typical. I need an 'R' too and for scripts I'm stuck between Chopin and Brock
  3. Tink - I love your emerald and the halo is so delicate that it suits it perfectly
  4. I'm sure it did but somewhere in my evolving search for DIY project it got lost. With that siad, I know that this project only requires colored tulle in whatever length/width you desire, colored petels and spray adhesive. If you're using the the tulle and petals for the chair, you will have to secure them with a ribbon tie at the sides. If you're doing an aisle runner or bumpers you need to add mini weights to the bottom so it doesn't fly away. If you do a search in weddingbee.com you should be able to find a few DIY tips/tricks.
  5. Great minds think alike, I actually posted this in another thread. My wedding colors aren't ideal for this project, and it's been difficult finding petals in the colors I like. Any-who, these were the inspiration pics that I found and love, I really want to mimic the second one:
  6. I defintiely have too much time on my hand... For the first part of the day I will be wearing this tank by Victoria's Secret paired with a white mini skit or shorts. I found it for $12 on ebay: And I haven't order it yet, but I will get a custom silk robe from this etsy seller http://www.etsy.com/listing/97220520/silk-satin-monogrammed-kimono-robe-in in colors that will match my wedding scheme and instead of the large monogram letters I will get a smaller font size with Mrs..... I plan on wearing this after showering and for hair and make-up. But it should be noted that I plan on doing my own hair and a friend who is make-up artisit will be doing my make-up in my suite.
  7. We are doing a first look and formal family/wedding party pics prior and additional newlywed and fun group pics after the ceremony during part of the cocktail hour. I have to be honest in saying that I don't really like that fact that your photographer is so against the a 'First Look' shoot, especailly since you've shown interest. I think this is a very special and intimate private moment for the bride and groom. Of the six photogrpahers that I contacted/corresponded with, I have never heard of the dark eye issue nor have I seen it in any of the the photos. Additionally, there are many brides who get married in the middle of the day and have gorgeous pictures. Onto your next question I think your window is fine for post ceremony pics. The only rule of thumb that I am aware of when it come to sunset it to schedule your ceremny no more than 2 hour before. Keep in mind that that there is still light in the sky for +/- 20 min after the sunsets during spring/summer months, so it won't be pitch black.
  8. Welcome back TulumBride! My Fi is strongly contemplating ordering from StudioSuits (this would be wedding option 3). We saw a recent post in the specific material that my Fi wanted and it boosted his confidence to submit an order. He's going to talk with his BM first, so we'll see. Good luck with your order.
  9. I believe now jade is only 2 hours of coverage and would assume the same for now sapphire. I would suggest posting this question in the now sapphire thread if you haven't already. Let us know how you make out...good luck.
  10. Hey Ladies, My friend just got married in the very popular Maggie Sottero Adorae and I'm helping her sell it... Slim A-line/mermaid silhouette w/ sweetheart neckline & corset closure. Ivory Demir Stretch Satin provides sleek luster. Ruching envelopes the bodice & asymmetrically plummets below the waist, the train pours into a gorgeous balloon hem. Excellent used condition. Alterations - Cups added at bust and an 8 point bustle. The beaded embellishment at the empire waist & hip is perfectly intact. Professionally cleaned but there are marks on the inside of the hem from the dress dragging on the ground when un-bustled. Only noticeable in a couple of areas and you have to look for it in order to see it. The bubble hem acts as camouflage since it blends in with the shadows/folds. If hemmed, then it will be cut off. Additioanl pics can be provided, just ask. Size 10; B37.5â€- W29.5â€- H40†Final Sale. S&H $25 withing the contigous USA. All others, please inquire.
  11. Mlite, you are a God send! We've been waiting for somone to purchase and post the grey check plaid. We ordered swatches, but my Fi was worried the check plaid would be to overwhelming in real life compared to a 2" swatch. We've purchased two other suits, becuase he was too nervous to order but he's not happy with either. I think this will win him over (fingers crossed). I hope you dont mind if I come back with questions. By the way, this looks great on your Fi. I'm glad the two of you are happy with the results. Thanks for shairng!
  12. Welcome to BDW and congrats on your engagement, Lydia! Setting a date and confirming your venue is the most important part. So once you get this squared away, everything else will just fall into place. I'm also a May 2013 bride and invite you to join our thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/79118/may-2013-brides/ It's been a great place for us to get together, track milestone and glean insight from one another throughout the planning process. Happy Planning!
