  1. If you don't mind my asking, what is your price point for the BM dress?

I thought you had went with the convertible dresses, otherwise I would have kept my eyes open for you.
  3. There is actuallt a thread dedicated to this which may be helpful to look through. I also posted my MOB and MOG dress which I picked out for both: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/11617/post-your-moms-dress
  4. Love it...I'm pretty jealous of your craftiness. I could have never pulled this off in 24 hours. Just a random note, do you have a wedding webiste? I didn't notice any reference to one. And it's not necessary, but most invites also provide the time of the wedding. I just want to call your ettention to this just incase it was an oversight.
  5. I think that would be a very respectable way to approach her. It allows her to decide how involved she want to be instead of potentially feeling unappreciated. I understand not wanting to use another font, so I’m happy to hear that the test print is clear and crisp. I know that images get scaled down, I just wanted to double check
  6. Wow, talk about a total revamp...but I like it! My only concern is that the bottom recep/cocktail line…I think the font may be to ornate for that specific font size. Regarding design help from your brother’s GF, I think when you know exactly what you want it can be difficult to relay that info to another person. I say do them on your own unless this is a relationship that you fear will be ruined if you don’t continue to work with her and use her invite company. It would be different if she gave you what you wanted and it only needed minor tweaking. But if she’s not even in the ballpark, then this process of working with her may be more effort than it’s worth. I think it’s safer to end the process now then to have her continue her design efforts, you still not like it, and both of you are left feeling unsatisfied.
  7. +1...well said Alexis, and I couldn't agree more. My dress isn't at all comfortable, and I could care less. Go with what makes you feel like a birde, This should be your once in a life time moment! BUT, I wish you could have your "THIS IS MY DRESS" moment; I think every bride should. Granted this is different person to person, but I think this moment is essential to feeling confident with your selction.
  8. OMG... I knew you couldn't resist, but I was giving you 48 bhours before you cracked. Thanks for sharing the info missy! It's actually been a big question of mine as to whether or not the iron on crystals will work or if I need to find a super stregth addhesive. You'll probably figure this out before I even get around to ordering my crystal. So be sure to let me know...pretty please.
  9. It sucks that we all don't live closer together, we could have DIY parties... cake topper party, petal runner party...
  10. Thanks for posting Ms Allie! my wedding coordinator provided the same tier size diameters for my wedding group of +/- 30, but sometimes I wonder if she's just making stuff up.
  11. Haha, too funny, I did the same thing except I order 1 in the Brock script and 1 in the English Vivace and 1 Edwardian. I figured they were cheap enough, so why not. Let me know what you come up with as fars as crystals. I was going to wait for the letters to come in and then take them to Michaels to see what size(s) I need, but will probably order off of ebay to save some $$$.

  13. I am using a TA as well but for Hotel Accommodations only. Maybe this is an option for you. My TA is more than willing to help my guests find flights, but she actually advised against group packages that included airfare since I have guest flying from 6 different states, and with varying travel dates (I have guests staying for 3, 5 and 7 nights). In the event that I find a cheaper rate, my TA offers price matching. However, I don't know if this would apply if I had a packaged deal that included airfare, but maybe it's worth asking this question to your TA. Airfare can be tricky since prices can fluctuate drastically for various reasons... gas prices, day of week that your flying, how far in advance you book your trip, the city that you fly from etc. I don't know if these factors are considered when a TA calculates a package deal, or if these factors even apply to you.
  14. True, I almost forgot about the leg of the R. Good call.
  15. Here a pick from one of our own BDW brides, I remember talking to her about her DIY topper when she posted it months back. It's a 6" on a 2 tier... What do you think? it seems like she has her letter raised 2" off the cake. I'm not sure how she accomplished this, so it would be hidden by the flowers.
  16. 1 other point I wanted to make, if you're doing 3 tiers I think the 6" will be well balanced, but it may be too big for a 2 tier cake with flowers ontop
  17. I say go with the 6", you don't want the flowers to overshadowed the crystal monogram to the point where you can only see half of the letter... Go BIG or go home
