  1. I don't really like the idea of hearing my ceremony second hand, and I don't think you can modify/personalize their script at all, which i don't like either. So if both of these are still true, I think I'll stick with the symbolic ceremony even if it it is easier to get legally married now.
  2. Hmmm... I might have to look into this. I wonder if the ceremony still has be delivered in spanish with a translator present. Do you know?

We thought it would be easier to care of all the legalities in the States.
  5. There is a thread dedicated to this, i guess it just depends on what words you were using in your search. Any-who, here you go:http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/1058/post-groom-and-gm-attire

Worse might be getting the invitation in January, though, when those bills from Christmas are coming in! Guess I'll be sending them out very soon. Not sure when to make my RSVP date Yeah. holidays and invites can be a bit tricky. I know there are other May 2013 brides in the same predicament, so hopefully they will chime in. Our RSVP date is Feb 16, which I think is fare and it gives me enough to finalize anything that is dependent on our guest count. The way we see it, if you haven’t committed to a destination wedding 3 months out, then you probably have no intension of going. Even in saying that, we know that 1 or 2 of our guests won’t be able to commit until 6-8 weeks out, but they are the only exceptions to that statement. This date is also 2 weeks prior to when we need to cancel any un-reserved rooms on our block without penalty.

  9. Hey there, welcome to BDW and congrats on your engagement. For the months and location that you’re considering, May would be the best month to have a DW since it typically is considered the start of off-peak season. If you’re considering March or April, you’ll have to keep spring break and Easter in mind as hotel and airfare prices will be escalated. For me, my guest are paying anywhere between $450-$700 for round-trip airfare dependent on where they’re flying from. If you’re set on staying at a resort, than keeping your guests trip cost under $700 may be challenge since most resorts in the Riviera Maya are All-Inclusive and thus the nightly rates will be more than some of the in-town hotel options. I will be a Now Jade Bride in 2013 so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask. 13. I would love to be part of a BDW tradition if my wedding date allows. When: May 15 - 25, 2013; Where: Puerto Morelos, MX; From: Portland, OR
  14. Fantastic photo of you two... I'll try to hold back on commenting on every post
  15. Such a beautiful bride, congrats my friend! I can't wait for the additional pics and details.
  16. So I finally figured out what to put on my hanger... ribbon rosettes. Super easy to make, and it coordinates with my color scheme!
  17. No workout regimen should result in your losing muscle. If this does occur it's the result of your diet, not the workout. The harder and more frequent the workouts, the higher your protein intake should be. In the event that you run into specific exercise that you can't complete just substitute the exercise for something comparable like TulumBride suggested.
  18. Yes I have seen pics but nothing useful. In the 4 reception spaces offered, I haven't seen any brides that have used more than a dozen lanterns and this is even in spaces larger than mine and with higher ceilings. No one strived to achieve the lantern overload that I'm envisioning

I just don't wanna start ordering and not order enough and then not be able to find more of the exact same thing at a later date, etc. I'm getting anxious though! I want to know that it's done! Here's a pic I saw recently that I liked as well... Yeah, 20-30 unkown guests definitely warrants your waiting until you can firm up your guest count. I like the centerpiece, I think someone recently posted this as inspiration too. Back to the lanterns... I've attached my diagram, so hopefully it's useful. I guess my biggest question is whether or not I'm forcing them. Every inspiration pic that I really like is a tent set-up (16'+ ceiling height) and I'm afraid that my relatively low ceiling clearance of 10' won't be suitable for the look I’m trying to achieve since I also don’t want them to hang any lower than 7’ off the floor.I’m considering using smaller lantern sizes, but I don’t know if that really matters. And I also would prefer to go with the condensed/concentrated option since it’s a bit more dramatic, but then I don’t know if it will look like I skimped on the décor budget by not filling the entire ceiling space. Open to your opinions on this one ladies… WEDDING Paper Lanterns.pdf
  20. Oh, and no need to shrink the template. I used a No 10 envelope and they fit perfectly and I used a boarding pass sleeve w/ dimensions of 3 3/4"x 8 1/2"
