  1. Cherany - Way to bounce back and make a quick recovery to what was a huge pitfall in your wedding plans. I’m glad there was a silver lining behind all of this and it seems like your wedding day plans have evolved into something that will be much better. And fortunately this happened now and not 2 months out. 6 months is still a respectable amount of time to plan especially with allies in your corner. Now my curiously is reeling and I can’t wait to find out the details of your new ceremony and reception venues…Hmmm.
  2. Adielej... Looks like you have a great start. A few of us posted our completed/to-do list a couple weeks back, so if your interested you may want to go back a few pages since not much has probably changed since then for those who shared.
  3. Both May and June can be a bit of a gamble, but May might be a safer wedding month to book your wedding date since June is considered the start of hurricane season and rainfall average in June is considerably higher than May.

  5. I'm doing evrything in Word and would suggest using whichever program you're more comfortable with.
  6. I would say it's a safe bet that it's an off-white option, but I've never seen an almond colored shirt in person.
  7. I wouldn't say that your dress would look dirty, but a bright/stark white next to ivory will bring out the yellow undertone even in the lightest ivory. If you haven't found ivory shirts for your men that you like, then I would opt for an off-white or antique white instead.
  8. Horrid! I love when the ladies of BDW share their boudoir pics, it gives me that extra boost of confidence. Your Fi is going to Love it.
  9. I've noticed this too, there really doesn't seem to be a greatwaterproof option that's also voluminous. and I think it may be the trade off which is why I'm doing extentions. Let us know if you find anything that excels in both categories
  10. HAPPY TURKEY DAY LADIES!!! Hey Sarah, welcome to BDW and congrats on your engagement! I'm glad the May 2013 thread put you at ease with you planning thus far. Being a Mexico bride, I get what you mean about your wedding plans coming together the week of. For me, this only applies to my resort Wedding Coordinator since I realize they coordinate a dozen+ weddings a week and dont have time to get caught up in the details months prior. But I think every bride should have a pretty good idea of what they want well before then unless they really hate planning. All my centerpieces and decor are DIY and will be purchased by me and brought to Mexico. I made my own crytal mongram cake topper and have selected every flower that I want in my bouquet (and I have alternates if the originals are not available). There's no way possible I could figure out all the details the week of my wedding unless I was just picking and choosing from a list of options. But I want everything to have a personal touch and not feel like a stock wedding. Anywho, Happy Planning!
  11. I wouldn't worry just yet. Uhara is right, wedding dress can be extremely heavy and if they don't fit perfectly will definitely leave you feeling a bit frumpy...hence the mega clips they use to cinch it up to show a more streamlined and accurate fit. if it weren't for this no bride would ever feel beautiful in a wedding dress. I honestly think the fit has more to do with you doubt than choosing the wrong dress. The dress is beautiful and is cut almost exactly like the Maggie Sottero Adorae and I have never seen anyone look bad in that silhouette. Fear not just find a trustworthy seamstress and you will have the "it's the one" bridal moment. Keep us posted.
  12. have you tried making them on your own? Many BDW brides have had great success, including myself. I haven't seen many black friday/cyber monday sales specific to wedding planning but there are a few that may be helpful: Wedding Paper Divas is having a 20% off sale thru 11/25 (code: NOVWPD): http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/ I'm also obsessed with Vix swimwear and who doesn't need/want a new biking for their DW 30% off including sale items (code: BFSALE30): www.vixpaulahermanny.com/Swimwear Shutterfly has a few special offers some up to 50% off: http://www.shutterfly.com/special-offers
  13. Okay, since eyeshadow always creases on you, I have to assume that you've never tried Urband Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion - it's magic in a tube! I've been using this stuff for a few years now and nothing else compares. I have never seen a crease in my lid and this stuff really helps bring out the true pigmentation in shadows. You can actually get this at Nordstrom Rack for half the price of what it retails for in Sephora. I have also heard really good things about Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but have never used it myself. I also tried MAC's Underground Primer and had creasing in about 4 hours - no good. I decided to do individual lash extensions for the wedding, but I really like Lancomes Lash Power Mascara. And for eyeliner I went with Stilla Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.
  14. I think I might steal your recessional song....I love Stevie. Thanks for sharing, lots of good songs to use!

Let me know if you want the names of the waterproof mascara and eye liner that I also purchased. I have all of it at home and can check later. MAC really does have the best pigments for eyeshadow. And I'm glad the hourglass veil primer worked well for you too, it gives me added confidence in selecting it.
  16. Congrats, they executed this dress perfectly. You're going to look fantastic on your wedding day!
  17. Okay... I get it. I had to increase the the maginifation of my PDF to 200% to see the silver/crystal affect in the text (nice touch by the way). But that does make me wonder how it will tun out once printed; have you done a test print yet?
  18. I honestly love the look of the dressier/more formal wedding gown for DWs; I think they make for a nice contrast and really make the bride 'pop' against the backdrop of the laction. This dress looks awesome on you and I also vote for a traditional veil but would opt for a fingertip length instead.

I love the door hanger and wedding event schedule . Just for clarification, is the wedding weekend event a separate item or is it the back of the door hanger? A couple things that stand out to me - maybe consider bumping down the text a few lines on the hanger to fill out the white space better. The text seems to start too high and a little space between the sky image and 'Do Not Disturb' may look better. On the wedding weekend event, the font and color used for ‘Wedding Day’ seems a bit random and doesn’t fit with the rest of the design and I think the black text is a bit stark. With that said, I’m wondering if you can introduce a darker font color as an accent (deep eggplant) and incorporate it into your design… maybe us it for the day/date headings as well? Maybe use this darker color in place of the color used for ‘wedding weekend events’ and ‘I’ve been Partying…’ so that there’s a bit more of a contrast? L&M_doorhanger_itinerary_v5.pdf
