It’s odd that you haven’t received a response from Teresa in over 2 weeks as I can’t recall an instance where a response ever took more than 36 hours. I would check the email address or maybe call her directly. Any-who, answering your real question and hopefully not causing confusion... Keep in mind that I signed my contract close to a year ago and you never know when or how policies might change over time. Benefits of a room block 1) secures the anticipated number of rooms required for you and your guest within close proximity of each other. This is especially beneficial if you are getting married between March and June when resorts can sell out due to spring break and wedding season. 2)Securing a block of rooms comes with the added benefit of reduced nightly rates for you and your guests. The resort honors these reduce rates because you have made the contractual agreement to book ‘X’ amount of rooms for ‘Y’ number of nights. Both of these items can only be accomplished through a contractual room block. For me, I didn’t see the benefit of having a TA if me and my guest didn’t have rooms secured at a reduced rate; why not just orbitz or similar? I am having a small wedding and only anticipate +/- 25 guests. My room block contract with Teresa is for 14 rooms and contractually set up as a “social group†with a minimum requirement to reserve 6 rooms for a minimum of two nights per room. I have a deposit placed (paid by me directly) at $100 per blocked room which is 100% refundable as long as I maintain the 6 room requirement. I have the option to cancel the entire room block at 75 days prior to the wedding date at a penalty of $250.00 once the group agreement is signed – the balance of the deposit is returned to the bride and groom. Alternatively at this time I can release any of the unreserved rooms from my block (while maintaining the 6 required rooms) at no penalty and get refunded the deposit associated with those rooms. If you don’t cancel the unreserved rooms on your block when required to do so, then you will become financially responsible for them. Note, that once your guest reserve a room off your block, than financial responsibility switches from the bride/groom to the guest. Make sense? Let me know if you need anything else. -

I LOVE TERESA! I'd probably invite her to the wedding if it wasn't weird. There are so many friends and family members that have added stress and frustration to my wedding plans and Teresa is one of the few that has been a positive constant that I never had to worry about. I first contacted Teresa in Jan 2012, signed our contract Mar 2012 after asking question after question, clarification ontop of clarification and posed every hypothetical scenario; I'm sure I was annoying. Her friendly demeanor and responsiveness has never wavered. And I've received great feedback from my guests who have booked thus far. Without question, one of my best wedding planning decisions. -

I can't find any images online and haven't actually seen this done before. But I already bought the decor and don't want to return/exchange or buy more if not necessary. My brain is currently on overload. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks. I completely agree with Ali, and think the inspiration board she posted is beautiful. I actually had the same issue when selecting my MOH dress which resulted in changing my color scheme from sangria and chartreuse to a medley of purples with a hint/accent of chartreuse. I think it's for the better and it has actually made my planning and coordination of decor much easier.

Since there's nothing legally binding, as far as the resort is concerned, they don't care either way. Quote: Originally Posted by PuntaBride Is anyone doing symbolic ceremonies? Show off your shoes....

Do you mind if I ask why dyeing your shoes failed? I am strongly considering this since I can't find a chartreuse green shoe for the life of me. -

AllieH purchased these for her OOT bags and loved them. They even survived a few cycles in the dishwasher. She also bought special water resistant labels. I honestly don't think you can beat the price.

Photographers who's price INCLUDES the vendor fees
ChocoTaco7568 replied to MrsViolo's topic in Jamaica Wedding Vendors
Hey there, Of all the photographers that I considered and contacted (8 total) none of them covered any part of the vendor fee. It is not standard practice for them to do so, and I believe you found one of the few exception that do. if anything, most will have a preferred list of vendors that you can use where the vendor fee will be waived. Good luck with you search and happy planning -

If they think your cheesy, then that says something about them, not you. Always remember that it's your day and the only standards that have to be met are those set by you and your groom. It' your moment, do what makes you happy. I tend to get caught up in the details (I'm just neurotic that way), but honestly, if I didn't do a thing and just showed up, I know my wedding would still be beautiful. The Now Jade is a gorgeous resort, and having a DW speaks for itself.

I did find this out... the bride and groom ARE included. I think it's silly since I don't consider myself a guest at my own wedding, but Pilar confirmed via email a couple weeks ago -

Can anyone tell me if it is safe to travel through Cancun? Thanks!!! The misconceptions of safety in Mexico are really quite unfortunate. Like any country, there will be locations that are safer and more dangerous than others. For the state of Quintana Roo (Cancun, Rivieria Maya, Tulum), you are the tourist strip and as safe as you can get. I’ve been to multiple location through Quintana Roo in 2009 and 2011 and have never felt any risk or danger. Bear in mind that I also stayed in condos and often arranged my own transportation to get from one place to the next. Also, there have never been any travel advisories or restrictions posted by the US government since I’ve been vacationing to this location and this hold true for the updated advisories posted in 11/2012. To ease the mind of your FMIL, it may take some research on your end to enlighten her. -

It is the opinion of many that it is best to bring your own decor/OOT items in your checked baggage. If you have friends and family available to help distribute the load than even better. The cost for checked baggage is comparable to S&H fees (dependent on airline) and you eliminate the possibility of your items being held up in customs, or worse, lost all together. -

khunt - I love everythinga bout your wedding day look. I don't think you need our help at all, i think your good to go and will look fab on your wedding day. I like the earrings from etsy too and think they tie in well and make enough of a statement to wear them alone. -

Your second guess is correct... Short for Fiance -
Hey Melissa, Welcome to the May 2013 thread and congrats on your engagement! I'm glad you found us; your definitely in good company. I believe that most of us have already sent our invites out. I actually mailed mine in September with an RSVP date of March 1, 2013. But I also didn't bother with STDs. Rebecca does really great work, and if I didn't DIY I probably would have gone with her for my invites. We're all about pic in this thread, so if you don't mind sharing, we would love to see the final product. I actually decided against OOT bags primarily because I didn't want to be bothered with lugging them to MX. I opted for pre-travel packages instead. Excellent choice by the way with choosing LeBlanc for your resort and venue. I've seen a few pics from previous brides and it looks amazing.

Ceremony - What to Include?
ChocoTaco7568 replied to Kate G's topic in Puerto Vallarta Accommodations & Site
The beauty of scripting your own ceremony is that you can make it personalized to you and your groom. The following thread should give you a good start: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/21660/share-your-ceremony-script Like many DW resort locations, the officiant that they hire for your ceremony will typically have a script that they like to use; I would request a copy from your resort. This will give you the opportunity to make changes, additions or any special requests that you may want. Happy Planning! -
