I have an appointment on April 13th and I am starting to get really nervous! I had my Boudoir session this past Monday and I can’t believe I almost deemed it not necessary. This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself and the icing on the cake is that my Fi is going to flip, I’m totally going to knock his socks off! My self-esteem is at an all-time peak, I’m totally obsessed and in awe with myself. You won’t regret it. The best part of the entire day was seeing the slideshow at the end. I think my commentary was something like “Oh my God that’s me… My body is awesome and I look so good… I never knew I had that in me… Words of advice: Trust you photographer when it comes to cues and direction. Short of choosing my outfits, I let my photog do the rest. Most of my poses felt very un-natural, some even uncomfortable and I quickly realized that I didn’t know my right from my left, but it all translated beautifully. At the end of the day I was amazed with how my photos turned out. Some of the most uncomfortable poses made for the best photos. Looking through my pics after the session, I saw myself in way that I never thought I would and found myself using adjectives to describe myself that I never felt applied Have fun and enjoy the experience; don’t over think it. If your photog is anything like mine, you’ll forget that you’re half nude and in lingerie within the first 5 min - body conscience went out the window. I was too busy trying to follow direction and having miscellaneous conversation to be concerned/focused on anything else. -

I guess I just pictured my fi seeing me for the first time that day when I begin walking down the aisle. I am starting to come around a little so we can enjoy part of cocktail hour, but my traditional/romantic side kicks in and says not to do a first look...so I don't know. We’re doing a first look, and based on the feedback that I’ve received, it doesn’t take away from the moment when you walk down the aisle. But I’m contemplating not wearing my veil for the first look and saving it for when he see’s me walking down the aisle during our ceremony. I also wanted a first look because this will be the time when I give him my boudoir album. -

Maybe I am over thinking this?? Definitely not over thinking this. White next to ivory tends to make ivory look yellow/dingy. However, the photo below is of a true ivory, and many wedding dresses are not this dark. Most are a much lighter ivory where the contrast won't be such a contrast as shown in the pic. Alternatively, your Fi can wear an off-white shirt which is what we've decided to do. -

This time last year I was wishing time would hurry up and now I'm kinda wishing it would slow down so I can get everything done!! Anyways, it's an absolute must you get back on after your DW and let the rest of us share in your wedding bliss!! EEEEKKKK so excited! Best, Melissa Agreed! We've been through too much together not to come back with a final recap and pics. I love my BDW family, especially the wonderful ladies in the May 2013 thread! LOL... too funny, now I actually want to make him a sign with that quote. Long story short, Justin's brother didn't think our wedding was a priority and worth his money so he won't be attending. This also extended to Justin's 4 year old nephew. Recent family drama has escalated to the point where Justin's mom has openly stated that she won't enjoy our wedding/vacation not knowing how things are going back home (unfortunate but true. Justin and I were just waiting for her to raise the issue). Easiest solution was to fly his nephew out for the wedding. Justin's mom assumes full responsibility/cost and can be in Mexico with ease and peace of mind. So with 3 months to go, I now have a ring bearer. I just wish I knew that I was going to have one before now.

For past Brides (or anyone who knows the answer)... During a symbolic ceremony, do you sign a fake marriage cert during the ceremony? If so, is this something that was provided by the resort/officient or did you bring one with you? -

Of our 26 invites sent, we only receieved 3 RSVPs back via snail mail and 1 via our wedding website. The return envelopes were pre-stamped with the thought that it would be it easier for guests, but this obviously didn't matter. We also sent a broadcast email out to our guest 4 weeks prior to the RSVP deadline and didn't receive any more responses. I honestly didn't know who was coming, except for our parents and BM/MOH, until I contacted my TA to find out who had booked which was on the date when we had to release the remaing rooms on our block back to the resort. She also informed me that most of my guest booked two weeks prior to this date even though they had 8 months to do so. Welcome to the wonderful world of planning a Destination Wedding!

I have never been so motivated in a workout program. Just gotta start eating properly! Are any of you following the diet? I don't eat poorly but I'm not sure that I'm getting enough protein. Kudos to all the ladies sticking w/ Insanity! I completed the series a couple months back, and now just pop in the DVDs on days when I can't make it to the gym. I don't adhere to strict diets or count calories. For me personally, I don't see the point if you adhere to portion control and are mindful of the types of food you put into your body (sat. fat, cholestoral, sugars). I eat about 5-6 times a day and consume +/- 100 grams of protein a day, but this is also because I incorporate isolated weight training into my fitness routine. Just as a side note and to keep things in perspective regarding muscle gain for those paying attention to the scale and trying to asses muscle loss/gain vs fat loss/gain...women on average, can naturally put on about a 1lb of muscle per month with proper diet and fitness/weight training regimen. This is especially true for those just getting started but as your body acclimates to the conditioning (after the first 6 months or so), monthly muscle gain will actually drop below 1lb per month. -

Based on the input from previos brides, my assumption is that the photo coverage is flexible and doesn't have to be used solely for ceremony coverage. I know of other brides who have contracted outside photographers and used the Adventure Photos for a TTD session, welcome dinner coverage...etc. So I hope that it's flexible, beacuse I'm planning to do that same as you. I have contracted Sascha for 4 hours of wedding day coverage excluding any reception time. We shall see. -

I showed Justin and surprisingly he was all about it - me and my chartreuse green shoes and I just found him a pair of argyle green socks
